It depends on where you live and if the actual business/city has a ban on it. Of course I'd never Vape in a hospital just for respect and you never know if the people there who are sick may have an allergy to pg in the juice.

There's no bans where I live... But bans are popping up everywhere in other states.

It really depends on where you live and the restrictions that are in place there. As always any private establishment (Bar, Grocery store) and really any public establishment can have their own policies. If you are unsure if it is accepted at a certain place ask. If they say No then you can do one of 2 things: not vape or educate them and see if they would then allow you too. I like doing option 2 it has never failed me and it may just help another person quit analogs.

Just remember It's easier to ask for permission then it is to ask for Forgiveness.

It depends entirely on your country's laws.

In the UK, there is a ban on smoking in public enclosed spaces. That does not include vaping. In some countries similar bans do include vaping. It is all down to how the law is worded.

Of course, any property owner is within their rights to ban smoking or vaping as they see fit. Many bar owners ban vaping since it would make their life harder to police the smoking ban and keep explaining to outraged customers that the vaper in the corner is not smoking.

Well, the ecigs are still a very new thing here, so after i show them that it's not a cigarette, people usually say: Where do i get one? The ones who don't smoke think that it's great because it isn't smoke. And it really pays off to educate people.

As long as you teach the smokers... The non smokers are still like "But your still smoking, it's bad" and no matter what you tell them they refuse to take it in. (atleast here in sweden)
Or they say it's dangerous because the newspaper said so (the most unserious one aswell...)
The only news about e - ciggs around here is only "bad" stuff, like "people get hearthrushes and sick, and they don't know what the liquid is made of" and so on. They barely if at all do any research about the subject at all. Sadly most of the population believes it (because if media say so, it's "true")

They're trying to ban the e-liquid in sweden sadly, because of the nicotine. They've so far failed to ban it twice. So i hope it'll stay that way.

As much as they want to, the Norwegian government cannot ban nicotine liquid imported from the EU, as long as it's allowed in the EU. And Norway isn't even a full EU member.

So I cannot imagine Sweden being able to, unless EU bans it first.

Well kind of, eu will effect us hopefully in a positive way. Because it's up to swedish goverment to ban it or not.
We're "bound" to follow EU, but if the goverment wish, they can add in further bans. Each country can decide what to ban or not.

Funny thing is, you can import cigarettes and all that jazz. But they want to ban something that's way healthier.
It's mostly due the goverment are losing tax money.

Keep educating people on them. Even if only 1% choose to switch thats another live saved. Knowledge is key to the success of the Vaping community and life style

I feel the same way! I'm trying to convert all my friends and family who smoke over to vaping. I don't want to keep this amazing find to myself. As you stated, even if just one person listens...it's a life saved.

In New Orleans and surrounding area, vaping in bars is ok ( smoking is ok too) in bar/grill vaping is allowed but not smoking due to food being served as more than 50% of the business.
As far as hospitals... down here its a definate NO as far as smoking ( not even in the parking lot but they dont enforce it tho) I did manage to vape ( stealth) in the hospital... the nurse came in the room and asked me what flavor I was doing ( I suppose I was "caught" by her) but she had no qualms about it going on in the room....

So, while searching through the forums, i noticed a few threads about vaping bans. I vaped in the police station while i was filling some forms out, and a cop told me that this is a no-smoking area. I just explained that it is just vapour, and he left. So, is vaping allowed in non-smoking areas, like hospitals and bars?

I know a couple of hospitals that allow it in the main lobby, but not on the medical floors. I've seen it in a lot of places that you wouldn't expect it. In the end it is all about the individual city and business. One blues club I use to attend had banned smoking but encouraged vaping because the vapor gave the place a "smoky" vibe. It added an atmosphere to the club everybody wanted and nobody complained about it.

That's pretty cool. No need for a fog machine.

I think it is important to try to educate the people around you locally. I will personally start a Facebook campaign randomly to educate my circle of friends in hopes that when someone asks a non-smoker/non-vaper what they think of it, perhaps they will be more inclined to answer positively for the vaping community. Of course, we are going to say it is good but it is more important for those out there who don't vape to say the same.

I also have been trying to get involved a little. An email to a politician can take only a few short minutes and may help.......maybe.

For public vaping, I try to just use some common sense. I know that there are places that "I can" but I still won't do it inside.
