Sigh. Here's my story...1 year ago, I started vaping and cutted down on analogs. Within 2 weeks, I started breaking out... (note that I am still smoking analogs) I think that it was the ecig that caused my breakout. So I stopped vaping, threw it away and continued smoking analog.

Last Feb 2014, I decided to quit smoking. I bought a 1 month supply of nicotine patches, slapped it on and never touched a single puff of analog since. After my supply of nicotine patches was used up, I decided not to continue with patches anymore because it was giving me very bad rashes to wherever I pasted the patches on. And so, I decided to go back to electronic.cigarettes.

The ejuice I bought was a mint flavor, 6mg nicotine, 70%.PG.and 30%.VG. and the ecig is Ego CE4.

At first, just one week of using it, a couple of acnes appear around my chin. Then the second week, it got worse. Small red spots, looking a little like freshly scald marks, appear all around my cheeks. Upon closer examining it, it was actually acnes forming under my skin that are soon to be breaking out.Not to mention, rashes (not those serious types) appear around my back and shoulders. I'm thinking it might be due to the fact that I usually vape at home topless. (I'm a 29 male btw).

I'm really feeling helpless and a little depressed from this break out. It makes me want to give up and just smoke analog instead. Sigh. Ok, I admit I am very vain.

Quit zits are pretty common, just not something you normally read about in the quit smoking pamphlets. Your body is trying to detox and remove all the junk from analogs. I went through the exact same thing when I first quit, but found that drinking more water helped speed things up, only lasted about a week then started to clear right up.

give it a break until it clears up and try some 100% all vg juice after that. i had pg sensitivities that gave me similar rash, like razor bumps. lowering my pg made all the difference. id try all vg and work any pg in if you feel its nessesary after.

i would try some 100% VG as well for a week and see what happens. oh and stop vaping with your shirt off muhahaha

Welcome to ecf and please don't give up on ecigs. This is a great post that could potentially help others. I have noticed more break outs but I'm not convinced it is the vaping and not just hormonal. I have developed some seborrhea (just found out from my physical). Weighing the inconvenience of breaking out with the dangers of smoking........well I guess I'm not really vain. But if it is bothering you, go to a dermatologist and see what they say. And then come back here and post it. heehee That is what is so wonderful about ecf and helping people. Good luck to you and I wish you happy vaping. :vapor:

once...welcome to ecf. I don't know if you're male or female, but there are so many triggers for acne. I am a 49 y/o female. I had perfectly clear skin as a teenager and young adult. It was only within the last 15 years that I started getting acne. Some of the things that make it worse for me are hormone changes and working out in the heat and sweating all day.
For some people chocolate makes them break out. You may want to search casaa.org and see if there are any reported acne related allergy symptoms with PG or VG, then go see your family doctor or dermatologist.

I got very zitty right after I quit smoking, and I found that using 'The Regimen' at Acne.org dealt with it pretty much 100%. I vaped for a month before I gave up cigarettes, so I was certain that e-liquid was not the cause.

There was an improvement within one week, and after a month or so, my skin became as clear as it has ever been (which is party due to not smoking).

HTH.

wow. learned alotta stuff i never knew before. first time i've heard of quit zits. didn't have those. luckily my face remained smooth as butter, though the one thing i did notice shortly after i started vaping was my voice became very raspy. i was kinda embarrassed by it because it was very noticeable, especially if i were stressed. of course being self conscious of my raspiness just exacerbated the problem because sometimes i was too embarrassed to talk. never read of anyone having that particular issue so i figured it was a quirk of vaping that i might just have to deal with, or just wait it out and see if things improved. luckily things improved over time because i was considering quitting vaping.
