Vaping Community: Why so uninviting?

I've noticed that any community that invloves nerds is uninviting and pretentious I think we develop a too cool for the room attitude, and I do consider myself a nerd. For some reason I think alot of Vapors are nerdy or techy. Example: I am a huge Magic the gathering fan. I have attempted to go to events and play with other people but could never do it because I hated the people. So I'm doomed to play online. Love the game, hate the people. Kind of the same with vaping.

I admit that this is the only vaping forum that I've ever visited, but everyone here seems helpful and supportive.

I'm sorry that you've had problems with your local vape shops. There are three where I live, and in the last month of starting vaping I've visited them all, and found everyone there to be super helpful and welcoming. They seem to work at the shops because they genuinely love vaping and sharing information about it with others. I expected it to be otherwise, as many B&M stores that I visit for my other hobbies are clique-y and prickly (don't even get me started on the bike shop) but I was pleasantly surprised.

I'm feeling the warmth, too! Btw I vape a Kangertech clone EVOD & really like it but could use more draw...I like the looks of the aerotank mini but where can I find the real Kangertech stuff? Seems like every time I think I've found an authentic seller reviewers reveal that the product they rec'd is actually a clone.

I've bought several Aerotank Minis from MyVaporStore and I'm 100% certain they're authentic. MVS also provides outstanding customer service.

Welcome to ECF. I'm sorry the B&M stores in your area are staffed by ***hats. Most of the stores in my area are friendly and helpful. Perhaps you should move to KC.

E-cigs have allowed me to continue enjoying almost every aspect of my tobacco habit with very few compromises and I must say they have come a long way in the last decade or so since I tried gas station disposables. My question is, with all of the options for different setups and the veritable mountain of information regarding classifications, hardware choices, e liquid varieties, and the like, why does it seem that asking questions at my local vaping store or other online venues is always met with bristly replies, patronizing non-answers, and a general lack of helpfulness tinged with too-cool-for-school attitude?

It makes me wonder less why PVs aren't ubiquitous and analogs seem to still be. People are killing themselves all around us and, while not a perfect solution, PVs could help a lot of people out like me who were almost hopelessly addicted to combusting tobacco even with the knowledge of it's mortal repercussions.

With that said, I'm hopeful that THIS community will be less judgmental, friendlier, and easier to glean knowledge from than my previous experiences. I'm happy to be here...

Not too far from you, and I don't understand why there are so few B&M's around here. There's only one I've actually been in to (South Worcester) and despite the fact that it's a small chain run by a real player (ECF Registered supplier) the store was a complete disappointment. Seemed like they were in business just to sell their "Custom Mixed" juice and starter kits; all the advanced mods in the display case were either broken returns (for show) or gear that belonged to the employees (Apparently also for show). Not to mention that the employees seemed to spend considerable time out in the parking lot in their cars (as judged by the strong odors of <other stuff> that was blatant both when I went in and when I came back out of the store).

E-cigarettes are still, for the most part, in "wild-west" territory. Lots of idiots out there running stores. But some really good ones (apparently).

Anyway, with the dearth of good B&M's in this neighborhood, you'll find everything you need here. I order all my stuff online, from places I heard about on ECF.
