My smokers' cough vanished instantly. I have a single, soft cough about twice a day as my lungs clear out years of gunk.
My teeth and gums look and feel great. Halitosis has vanished.
My sense of smell/taste were pretty good compared with non-smokers, but they are much more powerful now (not always a good thing haha).
My eyes feel much better - clearer vision, not irritated, less floaters.
My skin is more supple.
My lips are no longer chapped.
My frenetic, constant puffing has transformed into calm, soothing pulls every so often.
My intake has gone from about 30g of rolling tobacco a day (roughly 60+ standard cigarettes) to about 3ml of 11mg nicotine (roughly 33 standard smokes).

It has only been a week since I took up vaping. Prior to that I did have an imitation cigarette device, but it did make me cough and didn't bring me away from the cigarettes (battery & comfort issues), so I cannot claim that all vaping is cough free - clearly it depends on the type of device and the juice it is filled with.

Thanks for all the well thought out replies! And oh yeah... about the "Whizzing", I couldn't stop myself from smiling like a dummy while reading the whole thread.

I have since received my eGo-C kit, -W options, and clearomizer. Haven't stopped smoking completely, but smoked significantly less, which was my goal, until I naturally decide to quit analogs completely. My hacking and bronchitis is playing a major role in this transition.

It's also strange to try all these eJuices, and I find that I taste different flavors as to what it is labelled as. EJ Menthol taste like Hazel Nut, EJ Coffee taste like Root Beer. and my friends all say different things about taste.. I've also converted a few non-smokers to vaping, and frankly I don't feel too guilty. >=] Maybe soon my wife to be will slowly assimilate.

Now it's time for me to go whizzing.

I smoked for 21 years, and I have been vaping for about a month now, never really had smokers cough but I did cough up big chunks "lung butter" (phlegm) every morning, the first week or so the phlegm got worse and had brown tar looking bits in it, and then just disappeared, after that no symptoms,

I have noticed a big difference in my stamina, I used to get winded easily, and in the last year I started getting very bad headaches with any major exertion, now both are gone and I am really enjoying myself, so glad I found vaping.

Vape tastes so much better than analogs so much more enjoyable and my car my clothes and my breath smell better too, and if I can ever stop buying new toys the potential is there to save a lot of money.

My story is a little bit different, but maybe not so much?

I only smoked on average about 6 cigarettes per day, but I did that for 27 years...
--I had smoker's cough, but only when I started laughing really hard
--I had wheezing in my chest at night when I was lying in bed
--I hacked up one or two balls of brown phlegm every morning

I don't think my cilia ever were damaged enough to stop working well.
And I actually think that is why I hacked up crap every morning, and wheezed at night.

So when I switched to vaping, I stopped coughing, wheezing, and hacking up crap almost immediately.

But after a few weeks, there were some things that started to change...
--I started sneezing and pulling up clear phlegm every morning
--I still have some very slight wheezing, but only enough to shake something loose now and then

Both of the above issues increase when the percentage of VG in my juice increases.

My opinion on all of this is that my cilia are still in great shape, and each morning I'm pulling up PG/VG that is in my lungs.
And it is also my opinion that for whatever reason more VG makes it more noticeable, probably because it is thicker.

But once my morning lung-clearing is done, I don't have any more issues throughout the day.
And I think that is because the lung cleaning process works MUCH better when you are lying down.

This is confirmed to me by the fact that I can have the same issues when I wake up from any long late-afternoon naps.

So I do believe that PG/VG is coating my lungs from vaping, and I also believe I am clearing it out very well.

And having that PG/VG in my lungs does not concern me.
In fact, I think it provides a very big health benefit, and it really helps keep me from getting sick.

This is all my opinion, based on my experiences, and may very well not apply to anyone else.
:)

Oh, I forgot, I also wanted to add that my lungs have definitely become much healthier...

When I was smoking I could barely hold my breath for 30 seconds.
About a year after I started vaping I could hold my breath for 90 seconds without too much trouble.

About three months ago I held my breath for 105 seconds.
And a couple of days ago I held my breath for 120 seconds.

I'm glad you can take a good ribbing from all of us about your "whizzing".

Don't feel guilty about converting people to vaping. I don't. I don't push it on them, but when they see me do it and ask about it, I simply explain it to them and how I feel much better vaping only a few chemicals instead of smoking thousands of toxins. Some of my friends have bought cheap electronic cigarettes from gas stations (just to try it). Some of them say "it sucks", some of them say "not bad". I recommend that they buy menthol, because people are more receptive to tingling mint flavors than they are sweet tobacco flavor. I have added a little VG to their new cartridges to show them how the throat hit can be altered, and the flavor can be dialed down a bit. A few of them have really started to research the wide amount of info on it.

As for the flavors... Everyone's palates are different. The fact that you still smoke the occasional analog will also affect the taste you get from your vape. Take your time with the analogs. When you're ready to quit them all together...you will. I'd rather a person slowly ween themselves off analogs, than try to quit them immediately only to go back to them full on.

I have really begun to figure out the critical balance of PG/VG. I did 50/50 only to figure out that it wasn't working for me. I went back to 80PG/20 VG. I use the VG to soften the throat hit a bit and give a better vapor. Too much VG, and I feel it's too heavy.

I think you're right though. It sounds as though your body is doing what it is naturally supposed to do. I get up in the morning with a little bit of a "coating" in my throat. I clear it out in a few moments (comes out clean with no color), and I feel good. When I smoked, it was almost a daily kick start ritual that would last 30 minutes before I even felt decent. I would hack up the yellow phlegm and then be sluggish for hours.
