stay away from vg juices, as they metabolize into sugars after vaped. try to pick up some 80pg 20vg if you can. Good luck with your condition and talk to a doctor, or fellow vapors, they probably know more than the man in white

Thanks... I will have to do some research as to what is in the mixtures I purchase. The little bottles only say the flavor and High, Med., Low or Zero... this is regarding the Nicotine level. Have no indication on the other components - VG or PG or a mixture...

Thanks, I´m new a this, only about 3 months vaping and have a lot to learn...
I did find this article which is interesting... for what it says, PG is worse than VG for your body... who knows...
Common Differences between PG and VG-based E-Liquid
I think, due to the description, the liquids I am using, the Marlboro, tobacco as well as the Vanilla-Caramel that I quit smoking are VG based... smooth and with a lot of vapor. Only the Vanilla-Caramel affected me.

I keep my a1c between 5.8 and 6.7. As mentioned in this post. If I put on 20 lbs, I'm on the high side and my mornings nun are 20-30 points higher.

Also, I have found that the strips can very by as much as 20 points and the age of an un-open tube will very the readings even when there 6-9 months left on the expiration date. One time I started to see a 20 point jump with out any changes in my life, diet or weight. I got out the test solution and found I had different test readings between different tubes. My older tubes were the higher readings. I
then test with my blood and had the same type of results between the 3-4 tubes of strips I had a 20 point swing.

This is very interesting. I had to test my meter a bit back due to some crazy unexpected readings. Now I am wondering if it was the strips that were off! Solution test said meter was fine... I will be testing two
different vials of strips now! I have learned that diet is trickier then I would have thought when I first was diagnosed with type II myself. A quote was shared with me that keeps me clear on what I should be
eating. "If it's not a protein or fat, it is a carb.". This may not seem so earth shattering to some, but
works for me. Hydration is huge with diabetes also, and vaping will dehydrate from what I have read. I
was also instructed to eat a bit of protein prior to bedtime by my own doctor. I am new to vaping, in fact so new my unit and juice is on the way. I will be monitoring often to observe changes. I am going in for my A1C levels this week. This will give me a good base to start from for tracking. My initial A1C when diagnosed was over 14! My BS tested at 315 and I was immediately put onto Metformin and Insulin, one injection in mornings of long lasting variety. I am not the typical Type II, weight is not the issue. Doctor suspects hereditary and it's been suggested that I am a Type 1 1/2? My mother was type 1, brittle and juvenile onset. I am seriously hoping that the sweet flavors don't cause issues in vaping! I really appreciate this forum and wealth of experience and knowledge it will provide...

Welcome aboard Raven7... WOW, the doctor put you on Insuline immediately?... When I was first diagnosed, my BS was also very high - If I remember correctly, I read about 325 but my A1c I think was only 12. Anyway, they put me on Metformin (Glucopage) at 500mg and the numbers went down pretty fast... that was about 17 years ago. Now I am taking 850mg of Metformin, twice a day and also take Glipizide twice a day. That is all the meds I take, no Insuline which is a good thing as I do hate needles.
I hope they take you off of the shots once you get your sugar more under control.
As far as vaping goes, I smoke the Marlboro Medium or Low and that does not affect anything. I did have a problem with a Vanilla/Caramel which was a sweet juice but the jury is still out on that one... will check with my doc on Wednesday as I have my check-up... A1c now is 7.3 and I like it better in the 6.5 range so I will have to work hard on my diet and exercise.
