Nobody has a clue yet. It took decades before anyone took the link between cigarette smoke and premature computer death seriously.

You'll get twenty people leaping into this thread saying "No, it's definitely fine. Vaping is good for your pets, your wallpaper and your soul", a couple saying "My computer broke three days after I bought a new Ego!!! Coincidence?!!?!", and a couple more saying "We haven't a clue. But on balance, it probably doesn't do them any good."

We haven't a clue. There is no data.

lol, love your response. Well better an unknown danger than a known one. I think. :)

I agree :)

I don't let it bother me in the slightest. The only thing I'd expect it to prematurely damage would be optical drives, really (edit - and laser mice / trackballs). Whether to any significant degree, I can't say - probably not if you clean them properly. How many people do you know that clean them properly, rather than throwing them away as soon as they error?

But I doubt it does anything else any good, either. Does it leave a film? Does that film insulate, make things hotter?

Who knows. I'm healthier though, and if that kills a laptop on average ~1 month before its 'due date', so be it...

lmao, when I saw your post, I flashed back to one of the politicians, Rummsfield I believe.

... there are known knowns; there are things we know that we know.
There are known unknowns; that is to say, there are things that we now know we don't know.
But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know we don't know.

I know how bad the tar in cigs is for electronics and it kills me to see smoke wafting over my laptop. But I wondered what effect the vapor would have. I'll be vaping soon for the first time (other than a cigalike) and I know I'll be doing it while on the computer. Anyone have experience with this, or just some general knowledge about it?

A PC probably contains more moisture through ambient humidity than a e-Cig will throw out. Plus you are suppose to use a can of air duster to blow the dust out. And that stuff is really Cold and wet.
And I use my air duster spray to clean my mods out too.
