Vaping failed the test. Very disappointed!

To the OP: hang in there. I was one of the ones that unfortunatelly played around with ecigs for almost a year before truly kicking analogues. But I have been vaping happily tobacco free since Jan 5th, 2010 and its been great!

While you are correct that some alkalines in tobacco will produce and increase gastric motility (The movement of your intestinal and gastric walls creating the feeling of an urge to go) I would also suggest that at least a small part of you bowel issues stem from psychologic conditioning as mentioned above. This is what you know to be true, and for how many years now? The mind is a very pwerful thing not to be underestimated!

As for your head rush... I can assure you that while HIGH nic doses can cause this rush that the majority of that rush coming from tobacco cigs is actually Carbon Monoxide as a byproduct from the combustion of your cigs. Back before I went to full time vaping, I used to chew nicorette gum on those looooooong 14hr flights from the states to Japan or the Middle East. The first thing I did when I got on the ground was lit up, and my coworkers were always standing by waiting for me to fall over... (It happened regularly)

My face would turn pink, and Id damn near stumble. Its the effect of the Carbon monoxide starving your brain for oxygen (In laymens terms) CO binds with hemoglobin in your blood (Hence the pinkness in my face) Just google CO poisioning pics, you will see what I mean.

Try some different flavors, strengths, and devices (Within your financial range) and have fun with it! If you have an analog here and there so be it... every cig less is a victory. You will get there!

Yeah, I read this same comment in another thread. It may be true, but doesn't really justify how I could pretty much vape 11mg of nicotine in a very short span of time and not get the nicotine effect of just one drag of a cigarette. Just one. Parliament menthol light. Why would I get woozy from one drag if I just ingested 11mg?

Are you absolutely sure that it's the nicotine in the cig that causes it? If so, I would agree with the other posters that maybe you're not using an adequate strength for your particular needs.

Oh, and for the record cigarettes never triggered that particular bodily function for me ... but coffee sure does. :oops: TMI, I know ... but seemed relevant.

I highly doubt the "boom" was from a conditional response. It definitely was a response to nicotine. But, before I continue to knock the product, I can't truly say that it isn't working. My body may have been ingesting the nicotine, but there is just no positive way to tell because I truly didn't feel the effect. It really could have just been that the first drag jump started the nicotine I already ingested. Tobacco companies have perfected the recipe for which chemicals, and there amounts, to add to tobacco to boost the nicotine's effect, which pretty much hits you hard and instantaneously. That is why they add all that crap. My buddy at work smokes some obscure native american cigarette which is suppose to be 100% all natural. I had one. It is extremely, extremely light. I'll try that tonight to see the effect.


The “boom” you are describing is not nicotine; it is the effect of Carbon Monoxide. You will never get that “feeling” from an ecig. However, I vape 36 mg juice and if I chain-vape for too long, I definitely get a “nicotine buzz”, but it is not the same feeling you would get from cigarette smoke.

Nicotine is absorbed through the skin and mucous membranes which is the entire basis for replacement therapies.

Nicotine Gum/Lozenge: Buccal Mucosa
Nicotine Nasal Spray: Nasal Mucosa
Nicotine Patch: Transdermal
Nicotine Inhaler (Prescription and E-cig): Buccal and Oropharyngeal Mucosa

What happens is that the absorption rate via these methods does not cause arterial concentration spikes of nicotine like smoking. Hence you have to retrain your body and brain to accept this fact.

For this reason I started by smoking and vaping at the same time. I used 24mg in the morning then 18mg during the day. Over a 2 week period I found myself smoking less, vaping more until one day I just stopped smoking.

It is a huge jump from analogs to e-cigs so don't get discouraged. I smoked 1.5 packs per day for 21 yrs so did not expect to break that habit overnight. You also have to consider the myriad of other chemicals in an analog that are part of the addiction...it is not just nicotine. 8-o

BTW: If this is preachy, I apologize. I am a PhD candidate in Molecular Biology and use to teaching undergrads. hehe

I was lucky and I have not had even one cig since I started vaping. I wouldn't sweat it if you have one once in a while. I would suggest upping the nic to at least 24mg. I also had the problem with BM's I just drank lots of water and after a week or two it seemed to go away.

I still do snuff once in a while for a jolt. But I have been doing that for years and never really wanted to stop. Heck I didn't want to stop smoking but it was killing me.


Good luck and stick with it. A lot of the problems you have at first go away in short order.
