Hello all,

So, I'm now 1 week w/o an analog cigarette! I love to vape, and don't miss smoking at all. Now it's time to get my wife a PV. Well, here's what I'm thinking, I'm probably going to give her my Halo G6, and move up to something more substantial, but I don't really know what I want, so many options! Here's what I like, I love being about to use e liquid, but want a strong flavor and battery life. I want something that is portable, as I'm out most of the day, and am also a touring musician, which means long drives! Do I move to an EGO from a kr808? I would also love to try to build a flashlight mod for the 808, but can't quite find plans for it.

I'm sure this is more of a ramble then a question, there are just so many options!

Budget?

Here's my favorite setup for long drives:
Darwin with one of these Vision Extreme cartos (the Darwin arm can close with this 3.5ml tank on it and it pockets well that way):
GV VISION ExTReMe & Ultimo : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

When I'm not traveling I use a wide assortment of cartos, atties, and tanks on the Darwin.

With the Vision, I fill it, and it usually lasts all day on that one fill. I don't need to carry extra batteries or a charger. I keep a USB cord in the car and can vape it as a passthrough if I'm on a REALLY long trip. It's simple...pick it up, vape...set it down flat on the car seat. When I pull it off the USB cord a charge easily lasts more than a full day of heavy vaping.

The next device on my list of things to try is the VVPV.
It also has a charger built in...so that's less junk to carry around when on the go. This thing also top feeds...

The nice thing about those two mods, is you don't need to drag around extra batteries/chargers. You just jack right into a USB powersource...more like cellphones and laptops. You can vape them while they are charging.

At a lower pricepoint, the Boge Revolution V2.1 is interesting. I have one, and it's not bad for the price. It has long lasting li-poly battereis and the built in USB charger as well as a bottom feeder. What I like most about this thing is that it is super light! I use it for hiking/fishing/etc. Everything I need right there in a really light palm sized unit. I've modded mine slightly with a tube in the bottles to use regular atomizers with it. Again, a charge lasts me all day with a 2 Ohm atty screwed on it.

Bottom feeders in general make good traveling PVs Here are a couple of others:
Vapage has the Vmod in a couple of different sizes.

As does REOS Mods. Great bottom feeders.

I think an EGO battery would be your best move for now.
After that you can try any number of Mods.

I wouldn't settle for the eGo with it's smaller 3.4 volt battery when you can get the same size model PV with at least a 3.7 volt model such as the E-Power 510, Kgo or Riva. They also come "standard" with a larger mAh battery without having to pay extra as you do with the eGo. You can also get a $3 adapter and continue to use your 808 stuff. The E-Power even comes in a 5 volt version which will provide much warmer vapor:

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - EGO E-Power

KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit

But if you want really long battery life and the ultimate in consistency, throat hit and flexibility, then look at the power regulated, variable wattage Darwin. Battery life is 21 - 35 hours on a charge:

Hey there! My vote is for a KGO with Boge 2.0 cartomizers. Those are all 510 threaded, like your existing system is 808 threaded. So yeah, get 510 cartomizers. The good news is they're pretty much everywhere.

The reason I prefer the KGO is that the KGO runs at a slightly higher voltage than the Ego, and that combined with the low resistance cartos give you a thick, warm vape. I feel like you'll do well with any Ego -- they can all use LR cartos -- but this will give you just a little extra 'oomph'.

I'd get at least two 5-packs of Boge 510 LR 2 ohm cartomizers. Make sure you're good for juice, as well... heartier vapes like tobacco, caramel, etc. will likely be a bit tastier on the higher watts. That's my personal experience, anyway.

I would get a kGo, Epower, or Riva over an eGo. The 3.7V PVs provide alittle extra oomph compared to a 3.3-3.4V eGo, and more importantly handle the lower resistance attys and cartos a lot better.
I use an Epower and love it. It uses non-proprietary batteries which is the big difference between the eGo/kGo/Rivas. The batteries are 1050mah and I get avg a day to a day and a half on one battery. The Epower batteries are a lot cheaper too (about 1/4 as much) and last longer before they need to be replaced. Everything is replaceable on it too so it's cheaper to maintain.
CCV is out of them but you can get one from Hoosier for only $43. It doesn't come with all the free stuff that the CCV package does, but it's still a good deal and a good price. Hoosiers kit also comes with the older Blue lED switches instead. A white LED switch was brought out and it had a 5-click on/off feature which is nice, but for some reason Smoktech made it only for 2.0ohm and up. A lot of people complained bc the older Blue LED switches worked with 1.5ohm and up. Since so many people were having problems with the white LED switch, Hoosier decided to go back to the older Blue LED switches. It doesn't have a 5-click on/off, but at least it runs 1.5-1.7ohm cartos without problems. Smoktech finally fixed the switch though and it just became available about a week ago. Hoosier is the only vendor that I know that has it for sale now, but CCV will have it within the next week. The switch has a blue LED and is rated for 1.5ohm and up, like the older blue LED switches were, but it also now has the 5-click on/off feature that the white lED had. So it might not be a bad idea to pick one of them up too bc it's always good to have a backup, plus then you could turn the unit off so it doesn't fire in your pocket.
I would de consider the Epower bc it works great. Try the Ressurector cartos too bc they are awesome and give a great vape. They are all I use on my Epower and I use them in a 3.5ml tank so I can vape all day without needing a refill or change of batteries.
If you want a proprietary battery, the kGo is a good PV and would be nicer than an eGo. The batteries are 1100mah so they last a long time, and it's 3.7V instead of the 3.3-3.4V for the eGo. The kGo comes off the charger at around 4.2V too and then drops to around 3.7V.

I think you'd really like either one and personally I think their both def better than the eGo, yet their not any more Expensive
