hey all you vapers..
Soo we know I got my 510 love it.. love it.. love it, not like I was even thinking of quitting ciggys.. just thought it would help me cut down, not only is it helping me cut down but.. to my shock.. I am down to one ciggy.. and that one ciggy, was me trying to smoke it this am, and once about 1/2 hour ago.. couldnt do it.. YUCK.. what an awesome side effect for me.. EXCEPT THIS SORE THROAT!!!!

I have read others having sore throats..

So how many of you got your throat sore?? will it go away, right now using, pg~Tennesse cured..

Purchased some Wiltons yesterday, (Is Wiltons from Micheals VG???? It doesnt say what it is on the bottle???)TW in the mail, the 8 mg unflavored, and 24 mg tobacco.. to use with Loranns which is also on the way, and David yang flavors on the way, all 18 mg.. which again will be pg...

I vape about 6/7 drags, and do it again about a few hours later, I would think I am doing mild vaping and yet my throat is not happy..

Could this be the nicotine level?, a reaction to just something new?, the vapor itself, or PG??

Please oh please tell me I can remedy this.. that my throat will not stay like this if I continue to vapor.. and no this is not onset of a cold.. this is purely related to the vaporing... :-x

Please advice.. it would be soooooooooo truly helpful!!!

I did notice that during the first few days of vaping, I was a bit more thirsty than normal. But not to the point where I needed to always have something to drink with me. Never got a sore throat. Sometimes I will get a bad dry spot in my throat on the first two or three drags right after I drip into the cart, then it goes away. Just my experience:D
My best,

The one time I had a dry/sore throat was when I cut juice of 36 mg 50/50 with propylene glycol. As walrus said it does suck the moisture out of tissue. Of course I vaped the whole thing anyway and continue to use pg juice. I don't have bottled water with me, but just about always have a cup of coffee in my hands (yep its a diuretic and not the best choice). Haven't had any problems since. Wish you the best with the transition and pay attention to your body. It will speak volumes.

Hi Golden - I'm with you on the sore throat. That first couple of weeks were ... well, uncomfortable to say the least. Major sore throat. To the point where I was concerned that I couldn't do this. Started with PG, placed an order with JC for some VG to see if that would help (it didn't). However, I did find a tip on a thread that really helped. I found that if I had something in my mouth like a Ricola cough candy while I vaped, it greatly reduced the sore throat! I also used broken up bits of a clear mint hard candy and that worked too. Try something that doesn't have too much of a taste of it's own to interfere with the taste of the vapor. Give it a try. Sure worked for me. After a few weeks, it didn't bother me much any more. Of course, NOW I have a pen that is pooched (waiting for my new order with SPARE parts to get through customs now) and I lent my 401 to a friend over a week ago to try for 'a couple of days' and still don't have it back so have been back to analogs for too long. Will be interesting to see if I have to go the hard candy route again once I get my supplies back and am up and vaping again. Good luck and hang in there!

Cutting PG juice with VG does not negate the PG in the juice.

It might be a good idea to order some VG juice and try that for a day or two to see if it helps.

Also, taking a cart that is loaded with PG juice and dripping a bunch of VG juice in it does not eliminate the PG. If you are using carts then order some cores. (cores are carts with no liquid)

I have been using my pv for a long while now and I am *just getting a sore throat- only thing I changed was I raised my nic levels. No and low nic I had no issues. I use both PG and VG based liquids. IMO, its not the PG/VG thing alone. The new study said we are absorbing the nic in our throat/top airway- just as nic gum can burn, I think this is similar?

I have been at this for awhile. Had NO sore throat for months, then BAM a huge one. I thought oh no, this will be like tobacco! Antibiotics, strep, who knows.Tried the old gargle with warm salt water, all fixed about a half day later.
Try it, it can't hurt. Hope you feel better.
