vaping has ruined smoking for me

Any time I light up now it's due to making the "decision to" not from any "need that ..." type of addiction which amounts to nonsense as far as nicotin is concerned! That's actually a mislead from the actual addictive addiitices analogs are spiced up with along with the feel you get! which becomes the harder habit to smash open.

Now when getting started in vaping here's point to note on that. WITH or WITHOUT any nicotin DID NOT make one difference as far as how I felt with any flavor of eliquid or ecig, battery, VAMO, etc.! If I found the flavor works out on one of the forementioned I simply use it there. As for replacing the analog side of the equation Not A Problem with just that initial stretch of cutting way back from a half pack down to 2-3 in a day's time showing It Can Be Done! So you know where the analogs will be going by way of the "Dinosaur" in no time here!

Simple formula people! "VAPE TO BREATH" and much easier it will become over time! :toast:

I think of vaping versus cigarettes like the difference between buying a bottle of Thunderbird or sipping fine wines. It's all about the quality of your experience. We spend our evenings tasting and comparing, a very enjoyable experience. With smoking cigarettes we were long past the years of enjoying it at all and were experiencing all the symptoms of long term self abuse, COPD, Heartburn, nagging cough and stained fingers and skin.

Agree. :) and.. the last few years i was smoking wayy more and had bouts of terrible heartburn, this seems to have gone away with vaping :) not to mention the cough.. :)

Congratz! When I first started vaping I was still smoking analogs about 2~4 per day. I managed to will myself to go without for about a week. Then when I had an analog because my e-cig was dead (was a sad day forgetting to charge it), it tasted like I was smoking a fart mixed with the taste of just nasty burning cooking. I put it out after two puffs and ... yeah .... I will sooner chop my own arm off before smoking another analog.

Congrats, stephania !!

Last Tuesday while I was on my cruise (day 3 of a 7 day cruise), I went down the water slide (yeah, I never grew up, just grew old...), and while getting out I slipped and fell on the edge of the water slide. Hard. Broke a few ribs. Yay me. After visiting medical, getting a pain shot and wheelchaired back to my room, my wife asked if she could get me anything. I said, "Yeah, a carton of Marlboro 100's. I want a smoke.". She looked at me and said, "No you don't."

I stayed stinky free the whole cruise, even though I was in intense pain.

Now I KNOW I am off the stinkies for good !!

THAT was a good feeling. The nagging pain in my side.....not so much.

i knew i was done when i hit the 1yr mark. finally decided to quit on the new years before. bought a really expensive cigar to celebrate new years and was saying to myself "this should be good, i can have a treat on new years and see how it goes!"

almost forgot to smoke it. when i did, got a 1/4 the way through and threw it in a pond (biodegradable right?) then picked up my provari and vaped some custom mix bobas.

2nd new years...
said "hey i'll try 1 ciggie, see what i missed, f!@# its new years). i forgot.

ROTFLMAO

you're good when this happens to you. and it will. :p

We spend our evenings tasting and comparing, a very enjoyable experience. With smoking cigarettes we were long past the years of enjoying it at all and were experiencing all the symptoms of long term self abuse, COPD, Heartburn, nagging cough and stained fingers and skin.

Vaping freed us from all the negative symptoms and gave us an enjoyable experience that we feel saved our lives.

One thing I used to notice a lot was the stain when smoking a half to a full pack in a day's time. Surprisingly that seems to have disappeared rather quickly however when I was already cutting way back right before the first ecig came along. At times the burnt taste set off a "room spinning and sideways" feeling like you feel after downing a pint of something!

The oxygen deprivarion as well as taste plus carbon monoxide, ammonia, and what other garbage is laced in there would make your head spin while at other times like many years back one .... could folllow another like analogs per mug of coffee or your other favorite drink!

"As The Stomach Turns" would ba a good title for the experience! Lighting up an analog for the usual after dinner would often become the aftter dinner nightmate instead! While you generally have the pleasant full feeling after a good meal and then go out and suddenly it turns into something else real fast usually after about 4-5 puffs and all of a sudden you ask yourself: "Why did I even bother to light this up!"

Right then you feel like you just swallowed a floor cleaner or something when it hits! Yet due to the repeat pattern embedded in long term memory you end up going right back to it the next time and again and again like a 12" vinly caught in groove looping over and over and over.... Well until you reach a point where you can say: "Good Bye! Good Riddance!" to any tobacco if you are able to that is?! For some however just getting them to reduce the amount at least is some help in the right direction while the stronger willed will be able to overcome one bad habit for good!

I've had a "side effect" from quitting analogs that I haven't seen mentioned before; I don't know if it's only happened to me or no one else noticed.

While my fingernails never yellowed from smoking, I have noticed recently that my nails have a brilliant shine to them. I'm talking like I put clear nail polish on them !! My nails always had a slightly rough feel to them, but now they are smooth as glass. I showed my wife and she asked if I secretly went for a "mani-pedi" (I had to ask what THAT was...).

Just me, or has anyone else noticed this ?

That is likely from getting some eliquid on your nails! When dried it will put a glaze on you can still wash off. When seeing a drop or two hit the side of a finger that will also tend to look like a drop of epoxy glue landed on me as well.

The color is from the flavor you spilled on you however. It will wear off in a relatively short period of time and as the nails grow out. I used to see the brownish stain from analogs when going through a half pack daily and now all that suddenly disappeared fast!

i couldnt even light my hubbys cigarette without saying "EHW" (he dsnt smoke any more... yay). since the day i started vaping, i couldnt stand the taste of cigarettes... which i was extremely happy about. that made it much easier for me to quit them cold over 2 months ago. one of the best days of my life.

Well I cerainly will be feeling "much better" when all of them are gone now only observing the effects when going to light up the 1-3 daily compared to how I feel strictly vaping on other days! The pulse rate climbs through the roof in just a few puff on an analog!

The long time 36 year old habit won't be coming back however once all are gone unlike the cold turkey quit I did back in 1980 for several months and then picking it up again! :( Now with the Bad taste and side effects I want the last few to leave a "Bad Memory" in the long term memory where I could never pick up the old habit again under any circumstance! it will become a totally "dead issue" once and for all time!

When taking notes now after those few I can say I now feel a tightness in the chest area on both sides and not muscle but from the lungs. This was first noticed once I started cutting back on analogs early last year while still keeping the habit going. Finally last Sept. when a friend was looking to quit or cut back sharply we started looking into things and vaping is revealing even more of what most will fear some damage is evident to lung tissues! The taste buds are starting to come back slowly however! :)

I only use pre-filled cartos, so no spillage here. It's a side effect I'm not arguing with, even though I'm a guy, having nice nails is, well, nice. :) I'm sure the next time I change my car oil, work on the engine, or work on my motorcycle, it'll be back to "normal".....

Vaping has ruined smoking for me as well.. which in my case is weird, being that I work everyday in a smoking environment (brewing in a small brewpub). I always wanted this place to be non-smoking, but I lost that battle with a couple partners when we opened 2 years ago. It aggravates me because a brewpub should smell great ALL the time in my opinion .. but that's another topic.

I do try to make my vaping visible to the smokers in my pub, and enlighten them to what I am doing and why. And how much better it is on every single level.

I can't stand to be in the presence of smoke anymore, which is a complete reversal of how I used to be before and while I smoked. Used to, the scent of tobacco smoke kind of gave me a sort of calming and "homey" feel to it, as my stepfather and father both smoke, and I used to genuinely enjoy the taste of cigarettes (usually...minus that occasional one that seemed to get an extra shot of chems. That one sucked).

Now? My old roomie came down and offered me a Marlboro Southern Cut, which I had wanted to try for awhile, as they came out right when I quit. It was awful...tasted like nothing but chemicals. :( I can't stand being in the presence of tobacco smoke anymore either...it gives me a headache. :(
