It's definitely a bad idea, but I often let others try my e-cig. Last person was an older lady who's smoked for 40 some years and struggles with COPD. She loved it so much, I set her up with information on ECF, a few online vendors I like, and as many coupon codes as I could remember. Gave her my phone number too, and told her to call me with any questions. Most people who try it just cough a lot, look at me like I'm crazy, and go back to their smokes.

I dont mind vaping infront of all the smokers I work with. In fact alot of them have started vaping atleast part time because of me. There is still alot of misinformed folks out there. My wife works at a vet clinic and someone was vaping in the waiting area. Her coworker started freaking out thinking that because she was pregnant her baby was going to be affected by the "smoke". My wife being a vaper herself, informed the girl and went on with her day.

Happens here too Max. I've had folks where I work ask me, "Why bother?". I just smile and ask them why bother smoking? Right back at ya!

Uhmmm.....because I want to live and not smell worse than a garbage truck????

i was vaping out side of work minding my own buisness when a smoker walks up lights a .... and then proceeds to say "those things are bad for ya, ya know?" i laughed hard and told him to cite his sources.

Wow!! That's uhmmm......wow! That feller might be just a fruitloop or two shy of a cereal box!

Stiker, I know the feeling. Were you by chance smoking things called Racers? That's what I'd been smoking for a little over a year out of necessity. 15.50/carton after tax. They weren't very satisfying, but better than nothing. And honestly I think having to get used to those has helped me with the transition to vaping. It's not as satisfying, but it's working where nothing else did!

Being disabled, and without a vehicle most of the time I don't get out a lot, but if I did I would want to vape around smokers as much as I could! Not to preach to them, but to talk to any who were interested in hearing about it. I'm so very grateful that someone told me about it. My SIL had tried the disposables, let me try it, and I'm so thankful she did! If you feel self conscious talking to someone, just think how you'd feel if you were still smoking those things and no one had ever shared vaping with you. (even if that someone was an ad on TV, or display in a store or something).

EVERY chance I get! I make a 'show' when I see a smoker; obvious slow draw and lotsa vapor. Who else are ya gonna impress with vaping and it's benefits?

I'm with Iffy - vape loud and proud, educate and switch as many as possible. If they don't ask I don't mention it, if they do, there's likely going to be a new vaper in town :) If I had Iffy's sense of humor I could prolly bat 1000

Hahaha!!! Well, I will vape in front of *anyone*-because who is it hurting, it actually makes the room smell nice (a relative came over the other day and said, "it smells so pretty in here!"-I was vaping peach liquid :D. I will vape especially in front of a smoker because what a great opportunity to share the concept of e-smoking with someone consumed with real cigarettes/tar/smoke. You know, this reminds me of when I was using my mod at a large commerical-hardware store, and this lady was circling me and then she went and got a worker, they never approached me.... but it was quite strange and pretty funny later because I knew they were bothered (but they didn't know what E-cigarettes even were-- more than likely!). I can't wait until society gets used to them and puts their guard down a bit, know what I mean?

"Oh nooo that young man is smoking-GET HIM!"-I can just imagine her saying.... LOL.

That being said, if a smoker doesn't ask me "Hey is that an eCig?" but rather "WHAT the HECK is THAT??!"
I always reply "............" with about 5 seconds of poker face afterwards, then I give em a smile and
answer their question.
Wow... not smart.

Me too. I like the look on people's faces when they're sitting there in the rain, smoking, and I just take a few hits off my APV and head into the store or whatever. That look of confusion...I hope it might lead to curiosity! :)

I do at work and while out with friends. I have 4 coworkers converted at this point. It got to the point that I have an email template in Outlook at work with vendors, coupon codes, and forums. I broke it down pretty simply and recommend an ego and stardusts to most. They find it easy and there is very little learning curve.

I'll let people I know try it, I guess I never really worried about it. I recommend the email template. I just have them jot down their email and then the info doesn't get lost in the ether or in a drunken haze. It also takes very little effort on my part.

Yes! In NJ you are only allowed to vape where the smokers are, and I would still do it even if that wasn't the case...It's part of my habit :)

Too bad that it's a statewide ban. Have you tried vaping indoors and have been asked to stop? I know that some counties and localities have banned vaping alongside tobacco smoking (King County, WA and Indianapolis, IN). If they banned it in my county, I would just drive 20 minutes south to vape indoors OR 25 minutes north. If it was banned in my town, I would just go to the town next door. If it was banned indoors in my state, I would have to drive 1 hour north, something I don't want to do.

Since giving up tobacco in favor of juice, I no longer wish to hang around where people are smoking. Why quit and then hang around and breath it in second hand, not to mention smelling like a smoker again? So my answer would be no. Perhaps my vaping around them could help some convert, but I just can't stand smoke anymore.

Oh BTW, i started carrying around a few caromizer condoms (with holes cut in the closed end) in my vape pouch. so that way when people ask to try it i slip one over the drip tip and let them try it.

Well, just go ahead and be brilliant why don'tchya?!?!?! lol Thanks for sharing that. I knew there was a reason I saved all those lil things, just didn't know what it was til now. : )

What gets me is the people who have quit smoking, don't own PV's and still insist on tapping me up to use mine every five minutes if we are in a bar or something. (Then making faces when they don't like my taste in juice flavours) - Buy your own FFS. Just because I have a spare in my pocket, it's not there so I can give it to you to use, it's there in case my battery dies.

More than once I have been in a situation where I have lent someone my spare, they have moaned at how they don't like the flavour (More often than not Boba's) and then proceeded to vape it dry over the evening, leaving me screwed when the one I'm using's battery dies.

Very irritating. Especially the people I know who actually have bought their own but can't be bothered either bringing it out with them or learning how to top off a carto - When they do actually bring their own, I have a try of the flavour they are vaping and it's just burnt taste. Then the blank stare when I tell them that they need to learn how to top off a carto and how bad for them vaping filler is. (Maybe they think that burnt taste is how it should taste? I have no idea and have almost given up caring, the amount of times I have shown them how to do it all properly)

One or two people I know have bought them and still smoke. This is OK, as I have nothing against smokers or smoking. If that's their thing, fine by me... However, when I ask them why they aren't using the PV, they just say "It looks stupid" - I can't help but point out that it may look stupid to some, but nowhere near as stupid as being dead of lung cancer will look to their children.

I vape in front of smokers, and for the longest time, I would follow my friends out when they went to smoke and continue to talk with them. Did that for awhile, stopped doing it this last winter I thought because of the cold, but now that it's summer I found I can't stand the smell out there with them :) So I stopped.

I never really went to the smoking area, like a few have said I didn't want to associate my PV with smoking. It's bad enough that some people already have that misconception.

They don't seem to like me (they get snarky)...which suits me fine, cuz they stink!
Seriously, I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke anymore. The questions I've ever gotten came from people with loved ones who smoke and shouldn't be doing it anymore. Those are the ones I prefer to answer anyway.
