Greetings ECF. I must say this is a great forum with lots of useful information. I just started vaping a month ago and so far am loving it. I was just wondering what everyone's experience has been with vaping in hotel rooms. I travel extensively for work and over the last year finding a smoking room was a pain. Also most hotels now charge a 250 cleaning fee if they think you smoked in the room. What has your experience been? Anyone have any problems vaping in a hotel room?

Regards,

I do vape in motel rooms without a problem. However, due to my experiences in my office, I stay away from certain flavors. For example, all Bavarian ????? that I've tried taste great but occasionally a co-worker will say it tends to have a slight burnt smell so I don't use them at work or in a motel. I've had the same problem with Menthols as I've been told they have a slight musty smell. However, everyone enjoys and some have even stated they get hungry when I vape Peanut Butter Cookie. So I am careful of what I use and where. A good indicator I have found is what does your car smell like? It is a much more compact space and smells will tend to linger longer. You'll probably need someone who does not vape check it as you may be slightly acclimated to it and not be able to notice it.

Forgot to add be sure and do not tell them you vape and keep all supplies hidden when not in the room in case the housekeeping staff notices and reports what they have found as they may think you are a bomb maker. ;-)

I work in a hotel. The same brand that the op of the old post linked to above had a problem with. I can tell you that what happened to her is not Marriott policy. Sounds to me like the GM just had a wild hair up his ..... At our hotel, before we charge the cleaning fee we must have evidence of smoking in the room. photos of ashes, butts, whatever in case the guest tries to dispute the charge. If someone wants to vape on our rooms, more power to them. As long as it isn't a particularly aromatic juice that bothers other guests. In public areas, however, I do ask guests to stealth vape, as we have had complaints in the past.

If I'm not committing a crime nor damaging property, its none of their business what I do in a room I paid to stay in. If they say I did, they better have objective proof... subjective will not do. And by "crime" I mean crime under the law.. not a ban. That gets iffy I know but that's where my personal ethics come in. In my view, as one of those 60s kids, that means I have to intentionally harm someone or what they own. If they go the route of 3rd-hand harm, then I'll just blow the vapor into a cup or kleenex... they would still have to do testing in the room to prove I left anything to cause harm.

Ditto, ditto, ditto. Travel frequently, no smoking rooms (which saves money most of the time) that couldn't be nastier, vape day and night, no problems. I don't announce my intentions in advance, ask for permission, or explain what I did upon check out. I know, call me an out-of-control Wildman.

Wow! you are Wild! :)
