In one way, I see that as the main purpose of a starter kit. Any starter kit. Having something in your hand rather than looking at ego 510 atty clearo ohm watt wv pg etc etc till your brain goes numb and you give up.

Just getting a point of reference, even if you don't find it 100% to your liking, is well worth the price of a generally-recognized-as-not-utter-crap starter setup. I.e ego + vivi. IMO. Either you like it. Good. Or, you're one step closer to asking the questions that will get you something you like.

Things might be different in places where a pack of cigs won't cost you almost the same as such a setup.

at first glance vaping is hard, and i consider myself a normal vaper, but then i look in the classies and holy heck, what IS that??

it's a good thing that generally MOST of us are nice and help one another
also, it's fine to be happy with the BLU, most of us aren't we go to the ego,
for me i use the mvp with a 510 atty and drip, sometimes i use an rba for dripping

mods that are numbered? eff that
ones that cost a couple of days of work? you're kidding me right?

This is true, the advice "Get a Provari/Vamo and some kanthal and look into building your own mods" is ....ty advice for 99.9% of newbies.

Most when they start looking want a cig-a-like as that's what they know, the most I would advise a newbie to get is a straight Ego with clearo starter kit and a selection of flavoured juices (small sized). From there, they can start their journey.

And many will end their journey there. Which is fine.

I dont think vaping in and of itself is complicated at all. People make it complicated, sometimes unnecessarily so. I live by the motto "Keep it Simple Stupid" and try to apply that to vaping every chance I can.

The act of smoking was one of the simplest things in the world, I dont see where vaping has to be any less simple.

I was lucky.
I went to my local tobacco shop and all they carried was the eGo CE4+ combo and a large selection of Liqua juices in various nic strengths.
Bought it, took it home, was vaping within five minutes. And hooked by the end of the day.
So simple that if it confused someone I honestly question whether they were intelligent enough to be buying things like lighters to begin with.

First trial with e-cigs was bunk. Lucky for friends and family, I'm willing to be the guinea pig because I'm that interested in it. Second time around has been better; I invested more time in research and that has made all the difference. Now I don't feel like I've wasted my money (with the exception of some e-liquids, of course.) :) My dad tells me I'm obsessed, but I'm totally fine with that so long as it gives him a better idea of what he wants in order to kick his 30+ year analog habit. Bought him a passthrough to use on his 3hr commutes to and from work for Father's Day in the hopes that he'd at least quit smoking in his car for now. He also enjoys the benefits of trying all of my liquids. Honestly, though, I'm still enjoying my cig-a-like. It definitely serves its purpose and it less promiscuous than my VV, which I use at home. Every time a stranger asks, I tell them to do their research. It's not so much that it's terribly complicated, but rather has a more personal learning curve than cigarettes.

I was just wondering what kind of passthrough did you buy your father? Im looking into them and have no idea what to get. I want it just for the car.

I started with Cig alikes and prefilled. I quickly went to Filling my own carts, then Egos and quickly on to mods and different delivery systems. It is a skill I remember how frustrating it was always flooding things out, Burning carts dry hits ect.... But I would rater learn the lingo here rather than all of those medical terms and cancer ward ins and outs. If I kept smoking

The New Members forum is getting very out there. The other night a new vaper who had been using a Blu for only 4 days was recommended an RDA, and another asked about a VV eGo and was told he should make a Puck mod.

I remember one guy saying he had an ego but wanted a cig sized device for work and out and was told to get a Vamo and a Protank. Some people just aren't looking to help, they just want to tell everyone their way is best.

I think thats also a faze You find something you like and you want to help people not waste money and go threw the same steps you did.
Ive just learned along the way people have to progress.
When I started I had to have a camel wide that was electronic. I was not interested in anything else Mods were dumb looking, why the heck would you mess with a geny that looks way to complicated and involved for me. Provari for that price you must be mad!
The cool thing is there are so many options most people can find something at their level of comfort to vape.

Yea, I totally agree with the OP on this one. It was pretty complicated, but nothing compared to my photography hobby. Some people at work want to start vaping, but are unhappy with Blu and starter stuff because the cartos don't last long enough, burnt tastes, etc. Unfortunately, if you want a consistent, dependable vape it takes a little learning and of course, money. I've seen more than one person give up on it because they weren't happy with beginners vape, and didn't want to tinker. :(

Yes and No. I know that I will likely be stuck using either cig-alikes or Ego manual batteries due to the simplicity and the fact that I suck horribly at math let alone anything that has Ohms. I have wanted a Provari or even a K100, or a Vamo, but I would likely end up burning through them quickly since they seem kind of complicated to use. The batteries, the wattage, ohms, voltage ect...It sucks knowing that my husband will get to use all those billy club type systems while I am stuck using these. Then again who knows, maybe I wouldn't like one of the bigger mods. I do like the easier way out, I don't like to tinker to much with things, especially the e-cigs because they have something I cannot function without lol(nicotine), if it were an item I only used once in a while and was not in dire need to use it, I wouldn't mind it being a bit complicated because I could just stick it in the garage if it is to hard to use and not worry about it. To each their own I suppose, but I know I'd like to stick with the simple things.

I've never found vaping to be complicated BUT I didnt come into vaping looking for the experience to be just like smoking nor was I looking for the simplest way to vape. I expected to spend money finding what worked best for me.

Vaping is not for everyone. IMO anyone that expects vaping to be exactly like the smoking experience or for it to be simple and doesn't wish to put some time into learning and expects to spend next to nothing won't be successful with vaping.

With all that said, given some time and money spent and experimentation with the learning curve vaping CAN successfully be done without spending a lot of money and it doesn't need to be complicated at all, but one does always need to have some patience and a sense of humor at times :D
