I'm still slightly excited by some aspects of vaping, though the real reason I do it is the original purpose of the invention - you know, getting a decent nicotine hit to satisfy the addiction without the worry of getting lung cancer or other nasties from tobacco, and its wonderful spinoff benefit - saving money

I'm not a gearhead, I'm happy with a straightforward, discreet vaping pen that does the job right with the minimum of fuss and bother. The only reason I'd start looking at flavours would be if unflavoured juice wasn't giving me the kind of throat hit I like - i.e. one that mimics the effect of a real cigarette. So far unflavoured nicotine is doing the job fine. For some reason I don't get much of a buzz out of spending money to treat myself with new shiny things like most people seem to, I'm more geared up to making myself as comfy as possible as cheaply as possible.
I was a tad excited back in the day when I discovered e-cigs before most people knew what they were. I'd go into public bars and use a cigarette-style e-cig with an orange LED that lit up. Very refreshing to be able to inhale nicotine in a public place again after all those years of not being allowed to in the UK because of the smoking ban. They'd sometimes tell me I couldn't smoke, I'd explain that I wasn't smoking but vaping, and carry on. Eventually they banned vaping too, but at least it's usually possible to have a crafty draw on a small vaping pen and hold the vapour in my lungs till I can exhale without making a tell-tale cloud. I hope I'll find a vaping device disguised as an asthma inhaler one day, I'd be able to take that anywhere.
Recently it's been kind of exciting to start mixing my own liquids by diluting strong nicotine with glycerine and water. I liked the way I could save money because the strong stuff is the same price as the weak stuff. I was even more excited when I found out there are much cheaper sources than the vaping shops. A few quid's worth will keep me going for years as long as it doesn't degrade. Being an increasingly successful cheapskate never gets boring.
