Yes.
Short version...
vape to quit 2009
Add snus and snuff to the vape, actually stopped smoking 2010
Tried a pipe and stopped vaping for the briar.
Snus added back in
Started inhaling the pipe (really wrong!)
cigarettes and......

Resumed vaping with left over gear August 2013 and it didn't work. Picked up a variety of then current gear, didn't work.

Introduced to WTA... worked.

Big plus of course to really wanting to be rid of inhaling burnt tobacco.

Today, no tobacco in any form, just vaping. It was not easy but it can be done (-:

Sounds a lot like my story... except for the pipe... and the snus... and the snuff...
Well I pretty much went right back to the cigs... old gear didn't cut it then I found the nautilus.... I am tobacco free

This time around its pretty miserable, the vapor doesn't feel right which is something I didnt have a hard time adjusting to in the beginning. and I dont feel satisfied.

Has anyone else on here had a similar experience when coming back to vaping?

If physical, we need more details. What are you using, and what is not doing it for you.

IMHO it may be psychological. Please order a copy of Allan Carr's great book, the Easyway to Stop smoking. It is unlike any other book on the subject, he doesn't scare you into anything, and suggests reading the book while still smoking.

He will get your "mind" tweaked and ready to accomplish any goal.......whether it be quitting smoking or even losing weight.

I had a copy in the classies for a mere $5 for a while.......400+ views and no interest.

Just going to say this here: buying more stuff isnt' always the answer, and either is physical stuff...much of smoking is BEHAVIORAL, at least it was for me.

There should be more interest in the psychological / emotional keys to adjusting a habit......but like I said, I couldn't make a $5 sale on this book @ less than a cheap chinese clearomizer would cost....... Look it up on amazon, 30 years in print and 5 star ratings. That many people seem to have benefitted.

ALL THE GEAR AND EJUICE IN THE WORLD WON"T HELP IF YOU ARE NOT *READY* to quit or adjust your lifestyle

Best o luck to ya

Some things that happen when you start to vape. If you make it to the end, you will never want to smoke again.

- Vaping makes you cut down on your smoking, but it isn't the same as a smoke.
- You discover the nuances of tailoring your vape and your hardware and it gets better
- After a short while, you start to compare the smoke and the vape. The vape tastes better and the cigarette stinks.
- You decide to wean yourself off the smokes and decide that you can have X number a day. You cut that amount at periodic intervals until it's no longer worth buying a pack.
- At that point, you are free of smoke.
- At some point after your last smoke you begin to realize that vaping seems right and you wonder why the heck you ever smoked in the first place.

The keys are a desire to quit and a willingness to follow the process. It's a transitional change rather than a cold turkey cessation. There's no pressure to change quickly, but the sooner you take the steps the sooner you reach the point where smoking seems foreign to you. The time frame is up to you and longer is sometimes better. It works easily once you decide that you want to quit.

I got a bottle of 12mg Red Tail Hawk Tobacco Road WTA from Aroma for a just in case scenario. That scenario became a reality over this last weekend when a dear close friend of 35 years passed away in her sleep. I have never wanted a cig more than at the time I got that news. I vape 6mg so I had another bottle of 0mg tobacco from TPR, (the M-Type) and cut that Tobacco Road 12mg in half.
Bam 'a' Lam !Two lung hits later I no longer wanted a cigarette. If you know the guy that sells that stuff tell him I really appreciate that WTA he makes. I'll even call him myself if you PM his number to me.

I think you guys are right Ive determined 3 things right now.

1. Im being a whiny baby and need to just commit myself
2. I need to quit being hesitant because your right Im disappointed that I dont feel how I did in the beginning, when it was all new, I was learning a huge mass of info, and was kinda ohh and ahh about it all.
3. I really stink right now and need to stick with this this time so that others dont have to suffer my funk ( for some reason this seems to be more of a motivator for myself than health benefits)

So thanks all for the honesty of opinion and advice I appreciate each and every one of you guys.

Pick yourself up man and just do it. No need to walk around smelling like a trash can. I feel your pain because if it wasn't for that WTA I would have a red pack of cigs in my shirt pocket right now! I'll give you a link here or just go with 24mg if you do not want to try WTA.
Whole Tobacco Alkaloid WTA Eliquid Ejuice
..all of this is 12mg and 24mg only I think but listen, you CAN do it. Good luck brother.

It sucks man and I feel your pain. I still smoke, 4-6 a day, BUT I finally bought some 18mg nic instead of the 6-9mg nic. It helps during the day at work to pull on the 18 mg nic and when I get home, I hit my RDA hard with 6. All in all, I think the hardest for me is finding a solid ADV. I have a few $100 worth of juice that tastes great than it just gets old very quick.

Hey all back in january I started vaping with an overpriced ego kit and quickly jumped into the vape game going to itaste vv 3, mvp, mech mods, vamo, dna30's and the like.
A few months ago I was on vacation away from the hotel and broke my mod and couldnt find a replacement near me, and was too far away from the hotel to get my backup so I bought a pack of stinkys yuck!
Not sure what happened but next thing you know Im smoking a pack a day and all my vape gear is sitting in a drawer unused. A week ago I decided to start using it again and getting back into it. I still have a array of juices tanks, mods you name it I got it. I break it out replace coils dust everything off recharge and refill, and proceed to vape away
Yay! right? No for some reason when I first started vaping it was easy to switch I was having fun with it, exploring flavors and such, no cravings to smoke an analog or anything. This time around its pretty miserable, the vapor doesn't feel right which is something I didnt have a hard time adjusting to in the beginning. and I dont feel satisfied.

Has anyone else on here had a similar experience when coming back to vaping?

In a word... yes. I also started in January, quit smoking at the end of february, and did great with it till mid-June, 110 days, when I suddenly needed an appendectomy. Afterward I was so horribly sick, I didn't vape for 4 days, and when I tried to vape again after the sickness passed, it just didn't taste good to me at all, so I smoked. Before I knew it, I was up to a pk a day again, and had to FORCE myself to scale it back down, and quit again July 25. Was doing great for about a week, 10 days, and suddenly cravings were hitting me full-force, though I never really had any cravings at all, my first time around.

I solved it by adding WTA to my ejuice, and the WTA took the cravings completely away, so I could vape happily once again. It also prevented any of the depression I did suffer the first time around at the 3 wk and 3 mo points.

Today makes 12 weeks smoke-free AGAIN, still using WTA, still completely happy with vaping and craving-free. If you just can't get satisfied with vaping this time, I'd strongly suggest the WTA; it works great for me. You can get it at aromaejuice.com. It costs a little more than regular juice, but it's totally worth it.

Glad you are getting your thoughts together. This forum really helps me to keep on the right track! Hang out here in your spare time. I am constantly reading on the forum. I also go to vendors websites and look at their juice and equipment and make wish lists for my next purchases. It keeps me focused and occupied. Good luck to you and if you ever need encouragement just look us up on here.

Andria..is that WTA not magic? I was amazed at how quickly the cravings stopped. I could really get use to that Aroma. If only he made it in 6mg. lol ;)

I mix it with other juice anyway, so I get the 24mg so I still get a good bit of WTA even if I don't add much of it to my other juices.

It really is miraculous stuff -- I added it to my ejuice the day after I'd finally had enough of those wretched cravings, when I topped up my daytime tank in the morning -- and that night, I realized I had not had a single craving all day! I sailed right thru the 3 wk point, singing and dancing in my kitchen as I cooked dinner, the day I hit 3 wks -- a far cry from my first time around, when at the 3 wk point I was utterly convinced that everyone here hated me and I should just go off and sulk in the corner. :D

Today I hit 12 wks smoke-free again, so I'm rubbing right up to 3 months, and still doing just fine. All I can say about WTA and Aroma is BLESS THEM!!!!!!

A couple of things Logan

If your juice has been sitting in bottle for a couple of months waiting for you to return to vaping, it could be quite nasty tasting now. I have a few bottles I let sit and came back to them after a couple of months and they were not right at all. Some juices don't age well. Get new juice at the very least. And clean the crap out of all your equipment! Old juice has a way of clinging to your stuff and new juice won't taste right.

When I first started vaping I need very strong flavors because after smoking my buds were near dead, as I got farther away from smoking I tended toward much lighter flavors and enjoyed the nuances. I really can't stand the strong flavors anymore, but if I started smoking again I would probably need them to wake up the buds again. Go to a vape shop and sample again to find something that satisfies taste (as well as stronger nic as others have said). Flavor preferences change all the time, go find flavors that satisfy you now, don't expect that the flavors that used to satisfy will still be your preference. Much of the time I vape now for the flavor, not just the nic.

Maybe you've lost the hobby aspect that was so appealing when you started. Explore different aspects of vaping to recapture the hobby drive. Maybe DIY juice or something, or new mods and attys as others recommended. Try some new tanks or builds. Find the fun again. Just getting away from smoking is not enough for most I think, it needs to be enjoyable... something smoking is generally not.

Whatever you decide to do... good luck with it.

I switched to Vaping 5 months ago.1 month in I being my Involvement in Vapers Rights Advocacy I joined My State Vapers Advocacy Facebook Group, I joined the Vaping Militia and B Paid $30 annual membership and received my Militia Dogtags then became a member at The Trooper Level. I joined CASAA and made donations. I researched The Files on the CASAA.org website. Soon I learned that Public Health has been lying for years about the benefits of Reduced Risk Tobacco Products and have carried that tactic to Overly restrict Electronic Cigarettes. For the first time in my life I found a cause to Believe in.Advocacy as much as anything keeps me from going back to Smoking!

So thanks all for the honesty of opinion and advice I appreciate each and every one of you guys.

I think we are mostly sharing our own experiences in hopes that you will find something that works for you. I'm 4 1/2 years out from my first vape. The first week I suddenly realized that I had dropped from 40+ a day down to about 6 cigs. That kind of shocked me because I had tried to quit several times cold turkey.

I rocked on for two years smoking about 6 a day. One day, I realized that It was senseless to smoke even one cigarette when the 24mg vape was supplying my nicotine. I decided to cut those 6 cigs down slowly and get to zero smokes. Over a month or so I'd smoke a couple of cigs with coffee. I allowed myself one after each meal and I vaped alternately while smoking my after dinner cigarette. The cig really did taste pretty nasty compared side by side to my vape. One day, I just didn't buy a pack to see what would happen. What happened was that I vaped and didn't smoke anymore. I had weaned myself down and didn't realize it. From that point on, I was a vaper and not a smoker.

It's all about the mental state. Once you decide you don't need them, they don't haunt you anymore.

If it's real cigarette taste that haunts you, order a bottle of Halo Torque56. It's like standing out in the break area smoking and inhaling a real cig, at least that was my experience. Another good tobacco like vape is Madvapes Tobacco (not Madvapes Mad Tobacco, just Madvapes Tobacco).
