so i picked up a few 510 disposables mainly because i didn't want to go all out until i knew i liked vaping

5 days later, happy as a kid, my wife and I were out shopping for baby clothes and everything was great

got home and charged up the battery i used and put on another, refilled 2 carts for the night and everything tasted burnt, and i mean all flavors and whatever

replaced the polyfil with the blue stuff i bought from one of the sites that pre-cuts it

still tasted burnt

so i tried a new atomizer, tasted awful, thought it might of been the stock primer, so tried to burn it off, still tastes burnt

1 am roles around, i pour some vodka in a cup and twirl the attys in there, cuping up vodka and letting it drip threw

tastes better on the one atty i've tried so far, but nothing like it was all week when i was enjoying this

is this because some burnt something or other got up into the automatic battery that it comes with? or... i don't know, i wanna order a legit setup this week, but not if this is what it tastes like :-x

This is something that happens to a lot of us, out of nowhere everything tastes bad. It seems to pass after a few days.

Yep. This happened to me at around my 3rd week vaping. Nothing I tried made it any better. Magically, everything just got better.

Don't give up! It will get better. When you do order a "legit" kit, strongly consider the eGo/Tornado. The battery life more than outweights the higher cost than a stock 510 kit.

i only notice that when my cart is not wicking properly, packed to tight bad fluval or not enough fluid.try dripping some juice right on your atty.maybe you dont have juice.:confused:id have to go back and read.yup you need some juice.

Not a good idea with this disposable because it's an automatic battery.

Soak the attys a bit more in the vodka - the higher the proof the better and clear unflavored is best. Then blowout into a paper towel and allow to dry. Really sounds like primer which can be masked by some flavors at first. Advise against 'dripping' directly on the atty when connected to the battery but you could do that after cleaning but make sure there isn't any juice coming out of the hole on the battery end before connecting.

Yep same thing hit me around week 3-

have you checked the ends of your carts to see if they have "bites" out of them? (not smooth rather dips here and there) if so the cart is melting a bit- some of the atty's run a bit hot just take a razor blade and shave the end of the cart up to right past the burnt areas.

Then take long slow draws- that helps me a lot.
I have also noticed some atty's like different filler- I have buff puff in one and BF in the other, the BP just didn't work on that atty.

Don't give up it gets better and there is great tasting juice out there that helps.

This may be two different things ahppening from the different posts than the OPs.
There is the 'burnt' taste which can be bad atty, polyfill burning on the bridge or 'unknown issue'
There is the 'can't taste my flavors' 'everything tates of nothing' which is likely what they call 'oversmelling' (although its a taste absence its actually linked to smell).

"Tasting is actually smelling
It is commonly thought that the flavour of food is experienced by the 'tastebuds' on the tongue; in fact, the mouth distinguishes only rudimentary information on sweetness, saltiness, sourness and bitterness. Odour molecules from food rise to the olfactory epithelium and supplement the information from the tongue with much more sophisticated data. That's why food tastes bland when you have a head cold; the olfactory epithelium is clogged with mucus and can't function properly.

".. If you smell an odour for long enough, you eventually stop noticing it. This is because prolonged exposure to a strong smell is believed to saturate the olfactory epithelium with odour molecules to the point where information is no longer delivered to the brain. This is called 'adaptation'. Loss in smell sensitivity is only temporary and is particular to that 'over-smelled' odour. Recovering from adaptation depends on the individual but can range from a few seconds to a couple of minutes." (quoted from a medical article on anosmia or temp anosmia)

We 'oversmell' for HOURS so Im thinking recuperation can take that long also
