i have only been vaping for the past 3 weeks - it definitely has helped in the process of getting rid of the cigarettes. My goal eventually is to vape with no nicotine, just juice. One day or step at a time...we will see what happens. I do feel so much better without the cigs and the smells are wonderful - there are some I haven't smelled for a long time!

Cheers and Happy Vaping:thumbs:

I switch from smoking to vaping around jan 2011. About alittle over 1/2 year ago i stopped vaping as well. I feel better now, that i dun vape either, becuz back then wen I vape sometimes i feel like there was something stuck behind my throat, and I kept going to the bathroom cuz I kept drinking water lol. But vaping is always way better than smoking, at least you dun smell bad, and I did feel way healthier.

One week is way too early to tell. If your are a serious smoker doing say 1-2 packs per week you will see serious benefits from quitting cigarettes and switching to vaping after about three weeks.

If you can do it the best approach is to quit smoking and vaping entirely. If you are a heavy smoker then switching to vaping represents a real improvement for your health over smoking.

The nicotine from an E-cigarette will not satisfy the cravings from all of the other drugs provided by cigarette smoke.

Sorry, but most people who switch from cigarettes to e-cigarettes are going to suffer a period of withdrawal symptoms unless they use a whole alkaloid e-juice, which is very expensive to obtain. Smokers switching to nicotine e-juice will pay a lot less, but will suffer withdrawal symptoms for a week to three weeks after quitting the cigarettes.

That's the way it is. You can quit Romney style, or do it the way the rest of us do.

That said, I quit with a PG based 24 mg flavored e-juice. It has been four months since I smoked my last cigarette and I'm using an entirely different juice now. Is it worth it?

After smoking 1.5 packs per day for 35 years, yes. It's worth it and a lot more.

Yep, after over twenty years of smoking, I developed quite a bad case of constantly having to clear my throat. Smoker's cough, I guess it was, to clear the phlegm. The mornings were the harshest... coughing up lots of phlegm, it was so nasty. :(

Since switching to vaping four months ago, that has completely cleared up. I breathe much easier now and there's no more wheezing sounds coming from my lungs. Vaping definitely seems like a healthier/cleaner alternative to me! :D

Regards nic, I've cut back since I started, from 24mg to 12mg. Will try 6mg soon enough.

Of course a person would be better off if they didn't vape (or smoke), that goes without saying. The question is "can you". I smoked for the better part of 60 years, so trust me, you wouldn't like me if I didn't vape (or smoke).
I took up vaping so that I could reduce the harm from smoking, but I fear that if I gave up vaping I would have to take up padded cells.

i find Vaping to be the alternative for me. I have quit smoking for several months before without vaping, but always returned to cigs. I have been smoke free now for over a year using the vaping. I realized along the way that I did not want to quit smoking, just did not want the ill effects. I mix my own juices anywhere between 6-12mg, because I do like some nic. I do feel confident however that I will stay off cigs like this. Feel better? of course!

I tried vaping for the first time about a month ago, but made the mistake of buying a mini batt. :glare: I loved vaping, but realized I needed to do some research and buy a product that would suit my needs. So I went back to the analogs in the meantime.

After just a few days of vaping, going back to the analogs made me feel kind of sick at first. Can't wait to get my vaping kit and get off the smokes again! I def felt better when I was vaping.

I can possibly offer somewhat of a unique perspective to the OP's original question, which was more related to how one feels after quitting vaping than cigarettes.

When I started vaping a month ago, I hadn't smoked a cigarette for 3 years. However, I had been using Copenhagen tobacco, but haven't touched the can thats been sitting on my counter since I started vaping. I started vaping strictly to help with the nic cravings of quitting the tobacco.

When I first began vaping I had light headaches (probably dehydration), occasional sore throat, and about a week in a respiratory infection for a few days. It has all but cleared up now and vaping seems to have little side effects on me other than the constant drinking of water and trips to the bathroom to get rid of the water. I do occasionally get a bit of a cough that I didn't have when I just used the tobacco, but nothing like when smoking.

I will say that vaping has had a minor ill effect on my breathing capabilities. A trip up the stairs in my house used to be a breeze (ever since a few months after I quit smoking). Now I do sometimes get a little winded. It isn't as bad as when I smoked cig's but it is more noticeable than no vaping/smoking at all.

My personal opinion is that if possible we should all strive to quit the tobacco AND the vaping, if we can. At this early point in my vaping endevour I don't know if that will be possible for me, but I'm going to try. If not, at least I believe vaping to be better than any of the tobacco products.
