I've vaped 24mg/ml freebase mostly for the last 6+ years, and recently 50mg/ml salts for the last 5 months.. I don't have scientific facts to back it up, but I can tell you I'm a lot better off not having smoked nearly 90,000 cigarettes if I had not quit. I don't really care that my Nic use hasn't dropped. At first glance going from 24mg freebase to 50mg salts seems excessive, but I used to chainvape freebase. I take tootle puffing to a new level with 50mg salts.
I haven't dropped either in 8 years. Started mtl at 24 FB and still am. Couldnt imagine chain vaping 24mg FB however, but if I did, I definitely would increase nic a little to stop chaining.

with the salts, it's worked wonders for me. chain vaping is a thing of the past. 2, maybe 3 puffs and I'm good for a long while.

I think it's mostly snake oil. Salt nicotine is still just nicotine. It has enough impurities in it to make it slightly colored. I'm not convinced that salt nic has any other benefits than that it's less harsh.

LNW has salt nicotine base--100mg/ml--for $11 for 120ml, $60/liter.

100mg Nicotine Salts

They also have a nice informative page on salt nic:

What are Nicotine Salts and Are They for You? - Liquid Nicotine Wholesalers

Good thing that I spent money on other juice, then. ;)
I got some flavored and unflavored, figuring I'll mix them up.
Am I weird or does plain bring out flavors? Also, I got some single flavors weeks ago, and some like butter pecan seem to underline berries.

Say hi to your Brandi! :)

I vape lightly flavored. My juice recipe is Max VG, salt nic in 100%VG base, diluted to 25mg/ml, 0.25% vodka--much less harsh as a thinner compared to PG--and 0.25%-0.5% flavoring.

The flavors in my current rotation are vanilla custard, lime, orange, coconut and horchata. I use the horchata very lightly. I discovered that all of these flavors mix well with the vanilla custard, and my favorite flavor is coconut custard. This is just enough flavor to cover up the taste of the cotton, and make its presence known.

You're not weird. No weirder than me, of course. I vape mostly dtl, and I do it with conventional drop in coil tanks at high resistances and low power.

I'm not sure I'd put much credence in the opinion on a page that states:

Freebase nicotine has a high alkalinity with a PH level around 7-8

A pH of 7 is totally neutral, and 8 is barely alkaline. Heck sea water has a pH of around 8, and I certainly wouldn't call it highly alkaline.

No, it definitely does. Vape "plain" (unflavored) liquid for a while and you'll likely conclude that commercial juices are almost all dramatically over-flavored.

Thank you. I thought it was just me with the plain. It seems most juice is way too sweet or whatever.
But when I throw plain VG in a tank to cut another liquid, it tones it down but underlines it quietly.
Have a great Memorial Day. :)

VG has a pH of 7
PG = pH 4.5 to 8.5
Nicotine =pH 8.2
Distilled water = pH 7

Testing the pH of the unflavoured mix I make, vg/3mg fb nic in vg base/10%DW, I came up with a couple of different results over 3 different brews. pH about 7.3...'ish +/-,.... to 7.5 'ish.....what ever, who cares, well, obviously I did at one stage, dont know why, just took me away from spending quality time relaxing and doing nothing.
I havnt yet done a pH test on the pH level of the 3mg nic salts unflavoured brew I use because I dont think it really matters and at 3mg I dont think there would be any significant difference in the pH level between 3mg salts vs 3mg freebase. Maybe I should test the next batches just to test the marketing literature. Make up a batch of 24mg of each or something. Some one should do it.

Just wanted to note that this topic has been done to death over the years and flavouring can have affect over the pH of the juice. Because I dont use flavours or PG and I use a low mg of nic my juice is basically neutral. Higher nic and flavours might alter that.
If you are curious you can buy a ph test kit from the local chemist/pharmacist

Apologies for being pedantic, but this makes no sense. pH is only defined in an aqueous solution and the pH of that solution will vary depending on the concentration of the substance in question that's in that solution. So anhydrous VG, PG, and Nicotine do not have "pH" at all, and if you make aqueous solutions of them, the pH of such solutions will vary based on the concentration.

No thats fine, I dont mind at all, its good.
I basically bought a pH test kit and measured the pH of the juice I made, as have others. My readings were different over the three batches and different to the flavoured and higher mg nic batches of other testers.

I did too, about four of years ago, and then I got schooled by Kurt (a PhD chemist who used to frequent this place).

Here's my results with a bunch of different juices (the bottom one being Juul's salt juice, which was brand new at the time):

cUzs5k2.jpg

You can see the Juul "salt" juice is clearly quite different than the rest.

Do you have a link to that thread or clues to the topic title so I could search. It could have been one of the threads that got us(work mates) started testing our juices to start with. All I know is my juice at low nic and no pg was very neutral in comparison to my workmates brews.
The thing is, none of it matters to me, although it did at the time. Im not experiencing any harshness at 3mg and with no pg so nic salts vs free base is a non issue and the next months supply is 2mg so there isnt any need to concern myself with it other than out of a passing interest/education.

The I'm pretty sure I posted those pics in a Juul thread in the summer of 2015, but I'm not sure that's the same thread in which I was schooled by Kurt on the subject of pH.

Look too base is just as bad as too acidic. Frankly. I mean, look at lye.

I have vaped freebase and salt nic and to me, salt is a smidge smoother and for some who are nic sensitive or whatever, well use salts.. It is what I did while my reespirtory system has repaired itself.

Some people only seem to do well with ONE MANUFACTURER of nic, so you can just be as delicate a flower as you want, as far as I'm concerned. Just do what works.

Salts aren't magic or special, neither is freebase OH except both keep me from smoking SO BOOM.

I love the brits and their snarkiness and their continued support for the Oxford Comma.

Newcastle brown ale is the only beer worth drinking if you ask me.

My first serious boyfriend was a summer in England and I LOVED everything about it (also the place I started smoking, LOL still miss silk cuts.)

The brits have no clue how to design and ergonomic car though. It may be on purpose the cost of gas in Britain kind of makes you want to drive as little as possible. Maybe that is why.

Also PG tips, digestives and many other things. Some Brit consumables are great ENGLISH TRIFLE HERE I COME other suck, like um, blood pudding.

Phil Liggott is the greatest sport commentator known to mankind he makes the Tour de France interesting (but I was a biker) but I bet he could convert a few.

I had a sad parting with my English boyfriend akin to the parting Rose in Titanic had with that tool Leonardo. Only me and my boyfriend were in it, so it was WAY cooler and also in a train station. (Refer to note about cars...)

Oh and the Levellers!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Tower of London!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actual history and old things (there is nothing in the US that is old. Period. Unless we find some Native American remains, but like, they 're not much to look at, etc.

Anna

Forget vaping. I need a Go Fund me account. Clearly.

The labyrinth is way more complex now, it's a bit... Now we are selling the house it may attract SOME buyers. It may drive some away.
Largest labyrinth in Pima County we have not registered it though in case it drives some buyers away. LOL. We still get constant flyers.

The house ain't much but I think it has curb appeal. Heh.

Anna

And thank you for kind words. That's very sweet.

The too base thing reminds me of the scene in Fight Club when he pours acid on his hand. You need vinegar, bro...
I'm afraid to try high mg salt, since 18mgs FB is really pushing it for me. I need a mod for my Naut Mini if I'm gonna try high nic salts.
Have a good one tonight!
