I've heard a lot of people who supplement their vaping with Snus/Snuff.

I've also known a lot of people who quit smoking by just using Snus/Snuff.

What is the difference between switching from Smoking to Snus/ff and switching from smoking to vaping + snus/ff ?

I recommend ecigs to all the people I know who smoke, but if for a lot it requires a supplement of another habit that could have replaced it entirely, is this product really complete or a solution to getting off tobacco entirely?

Or is it that a lot of people cant transition just from smoking to snus/ffing, and this is an intermediary solution that seems to work?

I guess overall im curious what percentage of people who switched from smoking to vaping also need to supplement it with another method. Im sure someone must have done a poll?

Depends a lot on the individual. Some people are completely content with an ecig after quitting analogs, others like myself are different. For instance, some smoked because they enjoyed it and use it as those who use coffee, not because they need it but because they want it. Some like myself went to nicotine because it helps me control my ADHD and Anxiety. So when I switched to the Ecig it worked for the most part but for my personality traits that many parts of the nicotine from smoking helped control and change didn't have the MAOI's and other parts of the nicotine of smoking so I started to suffer. Long story short snus and snuff helps others get what they're missing from e juice. Just depends on what kind of person you are.

I started with a PV but it wasn't until I started using snus that I was able to quit smoking. Many people use snus only to quit smoking. Check out the snuson.forum. This is the snus version of ECF. Many use a PV only and others a combination. The important thing is being aware that there are a number of reduced harm options out there. The main ones are PV's, snus, dissolvables, and nasal snuff. They are all orders of magnitude less harmful then smoking.

A good number of us have been unable to quit smoking completely with the PV only approach, but when supplemented with snus are able to quit. The more options you give yourself the better chance you have of getting off and staying off cigarettes.

For me the e-cig seemed to work at first, but in stressful situations I had intense cravings and was basically using my PV as a pacifier and still felt like I was missing something.
Although the PV kept me from smoking, I was unable to lay it down for any length of time.
After using snuff I find that I go for longer periods of time without vaping, I can get in the car and drive somewhere without vaping.
I also feel more peace with the combination of vaping and snuff. I had no peace with just vaping, although it kept me from smoking I was still craving something that made me anxious all the time.

Hi Wall!
Vaping alone does not completely satisfy everybody. Many folks have quit smoking with e-cigs alone but there is a significant number of folks that can't quite pull it off with vaping alone.

For a quick idea of what I'm saying read through DVaps blogs.

The general idea is that there are alkaloids other than nicotine that we get from smoke. The liquid we vape has NONE of these additional alkaloids hence the not quite satisfied feeling so many folks have from vaping alone.

Take some time and read through the Nicotine and Smokeless Tobacco forums.

While it appears small in comparison to the number of those who say they have quit with the vape alone, there is a growing number of users that are finding the addition of either Swedish snus or nasal snuff to their vaping is what it takes to completely get off the smokes. I'm darn sure one of em!

As for your question about a poll, look at the one linked in my sig.

It is also quite interesting to note that quite a few people do manage to quit entirely, only to hit "the wall" after a few weeks. If they are lucky, they know or hear that smokeless tobacco is perfectly sufficient, and in rather small doses, too, and that they don't need to go back to analogs.

when I first quit smoking analogs, I was using nicotine gum and it wasn't doing it for me. I was still having to smoke at least a few cigs a day and I was going crazy. Finally I ordered some e-cig supplies and some snus sampler online from sweeden after doing more internet research into something better than the gum.
The snus was ok, and I could definitely see that it would have replaced my usage of the gum and perhaps allowed me to quit analog cigs entirely, if that was all I had available to me.
But for me vaping took the cake, I loved it pretty much immediately.. more so than the snus and I still the cans of snus I ordered in my freezer, almost all unopened.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone vape and snus at the same time (vaping while you've got snus in your mouth)?

I'm vaping 36mg like a madman and that doesn't quite take the edge off completely, so I picked up a tin of Camel Mellow to tide me over until my order arrives from GetSnus... And now I'm paranoid about how to use them together or somehow "doing it wrong."

I wouldn't worry to much about using the camel snus with a PV. It's weak on the nicotine compared to a standard swedish snus. It's highly doubtful you'll get into an OD situation with camel.

When you get your order it may take a bit to get the feel of it as to how much snus you need, and how much to use the PV. You'll get the feel of it as time goes on and you'll know what to use and when. Your brain will tell you what you need.

OK Allco here is the deal, NO ONE I mean NO ONE is able to be around me with nic/snus/smoke/pv/snuff I am a berzerker.

Much less now that snus and snuff is in the mix. I still smoke for the morning poop thing and more so recently due to mouth issues and suction but WAY less than what I was before. Find your groove and stick with it, some days for me its no smokes others I am a chimney but to each thier own.

I have used snuff a couple times a week for years. I think I use it more as a pick me up when I'm partying and need to get a second wind. I have not changed my useage at all. I still use it when I want a lift. I didn't start vaping to be nic free just cig free. I have not had a smoke since I started. Also I have not had a bad craving or felt like grabing exta snuff to get my fix.

I vape with a snus in regularly, though I vape a heck of a lot less. I usually don't -need- to vape with a snus in, but I do it sometimes just for something to do with my hands while I'm reading, etc. You shouldn't worry.

For instance, some smoked because they enjoyed it and use it as those who use coffee, not because they need it but because they want it.

The above a good analogy.

I drink [lots of] coffee but it's got nothing to do with the caffeine; for me it's the taste. I'm equally happy with decaffeinated as long as the flavour is good. For many other people however, caffeine is what they want.

I didn't smoke for the taste or the physical habit, just the nicotine and other active ingredients in tobacco. So whilst e-cigs were good (indeed much better than anything else tried previously), they're not particularly efficient at delivering nicotine and don't contain any other tobacco alkaloids. They're somewhat temperamental in use, relatively expensive, a bit messy, need maintenance, need constant charging and the long term effects are completely unknown (especially the flavourings). However, they replicate the physical side of smoking exceptionally well. With people for whom the drugs are less important than the habit, e-cigs work very well.

In comparison, snus & snuff deliver the same active ingredients as cigarettes and do it very well, are simple to carry and use, have no maintenance requirements, are discrete, are inexpensive, have a long history of use and peer-reviewed study. With people for whom the drugs are more important than the habit, snus & snuff work very well.
