Um, when I made my first post here I thought (wrongly it appears) this was started in a humorous vein. Please disregard my first post.

Yeah, it's a Brit Eng thing -- like "learnt" or "spoilt". There's another Brit Eng thing that shows up very strongly here in the south, that my husband finds hilarious -- he's from Missouri -- "hose pipe". He's like which is it, a hose or a pipe, and I've told him over and over, down here, a garden hose is very often a "hose pipe." He still cracks up.

Unfortunately 'common sense' isn't all that commonIt's just a common sense thing. Don't do things when you're driving that obstruct your vision or cause distraction to the point of losing control.
Whilst driving? Whilst?
Ye shalln't partake in the mortal sin of vaping whilst commuting...the 11th commandment.
