As a former technician I really tried my best not to come across negatively. I guess we all, at one time or another have given an answer that in hindsight wasn't well thought out. If this mechanic had worked in any of the shops I did, man it would have taken a while to live that one down. You gotta love friends/coworkers who delight in remembering and making sure you remember every mistake you make.
Yep, living in Alabama we are no strangers to humidity and are glad a/c systems are designed to do this.I live in a very humid climate, when it rains the rain is hot, when I run aircon in humid wet hot weather the first thing it does is dry up all the moisture caused by the humid wet air
I was wondering how long it would be before someone made this suggestion...
Oh, @AndriaD -it's called a "hose pipe" coz it's a hose that's attached to a pipe, innit!
Typed with my pinkie sticking out whilst partaking of a flavoursome vape![]()
I always just figured it's because it's a pipe in function, but flexible like hose...? Ain't English great!?!Yep, living in Alabama we are no strangers to humidity and are glad a/c systems are designed to do this.

I'm sitting here enjoying some Twining's English Breakfast Tea (yum!) but I guess you'd just call that "tea".But I don't have my pinky stuck out, I've got my whole fist wrapped around the handle of this 10oz mug!
Steep 3-5 mins my hiney, 10 minutes or it's just colored water!

1. "English Breakfast" is called "English Breakfast" over here as its the name of the blend. Same as Earl Grey, Orange Pekoe, etc. "Builder's Brew", however is just a very strong cup of bog standard tea. (Not Twining's - that's considered a bit poshYorkshire Tea is considered a good'un - Tetley and PG Tips are also popular)
2. In a mug that holds half a pint, you need to be using two bags, not one. No wonder you stew it for ten minutes!!!
3. 'Andle? You use the 'andle!?!? Get yor 'and rand the blinking mug, girl! You call yourself a tea drinka? Pah! Ama-ta, that's wot you are!
[My sincerest apologies to the OP for going so far off topic, but I'm English and this is tea (TEA!) we're talking about.]

Roger that! Who knew it could be 100% humidity.. and not be raining?!?
Andria
I confess, I usually do just grab the mug itself, but at the time I wrote that, it was still pretty hot, and full. So, handle when it's hot, 'round the mug when it's not.
It's "posh" as you said... I couldn't afford to drink it if I used two bags in every cup! A box of 50 bags is now $5.28; that lasts me 20-25 days. Though there for a while I was buying 2 boxes, twice a month.
Actually I thought Tetley was American tea... which I only like for iced tea (Luzianne!) as it's not aromatic at all. The aromatic factor is why I don't like decaf for hot tea; processing it to remove the caffeine also removes the aroma.

I was enjoying the tea talk much more than the vaping whilst driving. ...maybe it's just me$5.29? Ouch! No wonder you ration it. And Tetley tea was an English company but it's now owned by Tata, which is Indian![]()
[Ok, promise. No more tea (TEA!) talk]

When I told my girl our friends from England got us some "proper tea" she got ecstatic thinking we were getting some land. Then I showed her the loose-leaf tea and she said, "well it still looks like dirt".
