Hello!

I've been browsing these forums for about a week now. I've been contemplating getting an e-cigarette for a couple months, and finally got one one on Monday.

I wouldn't call myself a heavy smoker. I've been smoking cigarettes off and on since I was about 14, and I've noticed that I've been smoking quite a bit more (a pack every three days) as a college student. It started with cigars but slowly moved to cigarettes as expenses increased and my habit developed.

Since I was worried about the effects on my health, I decided to try out a Joye 510. I've been using one regularly for the past two days now and, well...

I had a few glasses of wine tonight. After having a bad day, I felt like having an analog. I kind if wanted the feeling of lungs full of smoke, knowing it was bad for me. So I went out on my porch and lit up one of the cigarettes I have left over since getting my Joye. I mean, why not? I've had a few glasses of wine, why not indulge a bit?

Three drags in and I was done. No more. My mouth felt disgustingly filled with smoke, and the taste was just wretched. I found myself wondering why I ever enjoyed smoking these things in the first place.

So I came back inside, picked up my Joye, and decided to post on these forums. Basically to say this: Thank you, and you are right. It takes a little time to get used to vaping, but once you do... You really realize how much better it is.

It's been 21/2 months since I quit. The other day I did the same thing. My friend was having an analog and just out of curiosity I asked if I could have a drag. Well one drag and I said to him how the hell did I ever smoke these for 33 years. It was the nastiest taste.

The funny thing about this is I've quit in the past. Once for 7 months and when I went back to smoking I didn't notice the bad taste of analogs as much as I do now that I discovered ecigs.

haha yeah ditto
Tried one and get this - was SCARED of it cos it was on fire...really..ON FIRE..I smoked 20 a day easy for 20 years and it scared me because I had the notion I would burn my eyes...
Also it tasted like someone took an axe drenched in battery acid to my throat.
2 drags tops for me then I held it under a tap (at arms length...) to put it out.

Honestly it hasn't really bothered me, I have a 510 too which to me is pretty light - feels like the weight of a pilot pen. Its longer as you know, about a bit longer than a 100 cig which I didnt like to smoke because it was 'too much cigarette'. I tended to get bored with those halfway thru lol. Other than that the weight was easy to get used to. I do play with it a lot though, like fiddling with it, and I vape on it a lot while on the PC, perhaps that got me more accustomed to its weight and feel?
