If i decide to order a red VF from 3fvapes, should i be concerned about getting a 510 connector made out of brass or copper? i thought i read somewhere that the threads were prone to damage if made from one or the other of the materials. im not sure. But, i love my zna clone from wotofo and has been going strong for daily vaping since the end of october.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, and it's only $5.00 or so to replace the connector with a high quality stainless part if it ever does go bad, and getting to the connector is just a matter of removing the four top screws.

Besides, 3FVape doesn't really let you pick your connector/battery cap color, that was a short term, one time deal for a handful of people who ordered and didn't know that Kangxin was going to start using both types randomly. Once they updated the product page to indicate this, it became take what you get.

The second shipment from this outfit sounds like they are quickly picking up on glitches and fixing them. Boy I don't know but this thread sure has me kind of excited about these clones.

[redacted] - I wrote some things about fanboys but I decided better.

Here's a good side shot of the 510 connector, looks like there's more than enough room for a FDV or Varitube.

Not my pic, it's from the big thread over on AAEC

Just waiting for mine to arrive all attempts from China failed. I am not even going to power it up going to fit a Varitube before I even put the batteries in!:)

I've got a Varitube here waiting for my Kangxin flask to arrive, but I may not screw around with it right off, we'll see how bad the screw adjuster annoys me when switching attys, and there's a bit of a concern that a floating 510 could add to the Ni200 build resistance woes.

No way all the Chinese and even high quality bespoke adjusting 510s are a massive pain the Chinese ones are mostly crap just look at the flat surface on a OCD well its a redacted now;) FDV and Varitube 510s once you clean and polish the brass or copper on the OCD pin it is far superior and has less contact resistance than a dodgy screw!

There has to be some logic why so many bespoke mod makers use them there a superior 510. In fact I got the crappiest evolv 40 mod this week it has a Varitube and its Ni200 resistance reading is rock solid.

Tpat,

If you think your getting board now just wait till it hits US customs and sits in the same status for Four to Sis days.

PS - you should use that Golden Retriever for your Avatar.

Or imagine living n Portugal and if customs put their fingers on it, waiting 3 weeks to get things sorted out

Been vaping on mine all weekend. Two items I have noted thus far:
-revision one mods have anodized threads, with a small unanodized area. This is not enough IMHO for conductivity...noting that version two has clean threads. I occasionally get "weak battery" and I twist the screw caps.
-Periodically it reads an atty wrong and provides a voltage that is too low...I think this may be my attys, but more time will tell. I solved this by unscrewing the atty a small amount, then back on.

As to the 510...yes you will want to replace it as I have noted that you can over time screw this one down with the install routine for a new atty. I will put on a FD.

Blue,

With your post the only thing saving me from spending more money is the Chinese New Year. You make it sound pretty good especial the version 2.

By the way if you have the copper 510 you might want to try some Noalox on the threads and the center pin. Copper oxidizes so darn fast that on any of my stuff that has copper contacts polish them just a little with a cloth and make sure the Noalox is rubbed in good.
