wish my caps lined up :( At least it is still going strong! Still tempted go go for a waidea but might just wait a bit now to see how things develop..exciting times!
Another way to possibly get your caps to line up would be slight turning off the battery screws, up inside the unit. Not much though. You don't want to break off the wire connection.

You know I was going to try that but I know they can break off if you go to far. Im not so bothered by it. Its working for the moment so Im not going to risk busting it for aesthetics!

That's the smart thing to do. I of course am pretty stupid and even though my Kangxin is chugging along nicely, I have a Black & a Silver Waidea sitting in Shenzhen EMS now. Both from Focal. Should have paid $10 more each from 3FVape because you just can't beat that customer service. Paying a little more with 3FVape is like buying a full replacement insurance policy! What was I thinking?

Not so stupid. I doubt they will significantly change the design/execution for the foreseeable future. They already said no 510n upgrade so I think this is it for the time being. Who knows though. Anyway, 3Fvape are pretty good I reckon. I'd love to know what the overall failure rate of these things is though...

Please don't jinx me! :) They may yet still ask for this one to be returned or start being difficult or something..!

Nah I'm quietly confident they'll do the right thing. Everything I hear say they're awesome.

Ironic, I've been super lucky throughout this whole process save in the most important detail. I ordered the flask on a whim and very hastily because I'd just got a "back in stock" notification on one of the flasks, and thought they were about to go out of stock again. I thought I was buying the Kangxin, the one I'd seen in reviews with non-lining battery caps. I'd never heard of Waidea and had only browsed this thread for 5 minutes at that point.

Despite that I managed to buy the best unit currently available, it shipped in 24 hours, and arrived a total of 9 days after I placed the order - 8 days shipping time.

If the damn thing had just worked, this would have been the perfect China order story :)

But I'm secretly hoping I'll still get a fairy tale ending: they'll get back to me soon and tell me a new one is coming, and that I can keep this one. I'll take the cover off, find two loose screws, and 10 minutes later I'll have a fully working flask and another on its way! :)

Now I'm jinxing myself of course..

It's 10.30am in China right now.. come on Mr/Mrs Supervisor, watch my video and let Kate send me another one!

I'm pretty sure Bloke's issue is just a bad ground off the chip/cradle assembly. Hoping the quality of the electronics matches the obvious care they took with the hardware on it. Time will tell.

Bloke, when you get the word to go ahead, take pics of the disassembly & repair as you go so we can peer further below the hood than Damped was willing to go (for very good reasons). Think we all would appreciate it.

Yup I certainly will! I'll probably be asking for advice as I go along anyway :)

Be patient Bloke. Took me a bit over a week from submitting my video to getting a confirmation they would replace it. Part of that delay was actually waiting for Kangxin to verify it was their fault, not mine, I'm sure.

Ah so long? So I'm really looking at a definite two weeks until I get a new one then, maybe three (I might have been very lucky with the 8 days shipping before.)

Damn, I am going to be really ...... if after a further week they do want me to return this one!

Bloke,

Just remember that a good Rosin Flux (I like liquid by GC) is your best friend. Even when you are just reheating a connection flux will turn a poor gray colored connection into a shinny bright great connection.

I've sent back a very disappointed and annoyed email to Kate. Once she confirms that they're no longer providing good customer service, I'm going inside the unit. I'm not waiting 5 weeks for a working flask. I'll fix this one, or kill it trying and then buy another one (from someone other than 3F, naturally.)
