Even the original dna will leave a tiny mark at 420. Heck, mine left a discolored mark at 400.

Still.. A mark is completely different from actual burning and we are talking about a dry (never been wet) wick here. Under normal circumstances, once the wick has some moisture in it, it will never burn, char or leave marks at 400 or 420.

i never said anything about leaving "mark". in mikevapes video, it actually burned his cotton. (i believe if he fired it bit longer it would have gone on fire)

Can't say I trust the parameters of the test in the video. If that atty wasn't at room temperature when it was calibrated the temp settings would have been off considerably and made coil temp higher than the set point. Robby did a few dry burn tests on his with both new cotton & vaping a coil dry & with no major issues but he has stressed the importance of proper calibration of the coil at room temperature. I don't get the impression that Mike Vapes was that concerned about the physics involved when he performed his demonstration.

i kinda agree with you on that one. but i m pretty sure he is educated enough, how to properly work dna 40, pbursado just did a video couple of days ago stating all the parameters of using dna 40. i know for a fact that mike watched it. well he is up loading a new video just now due to the comment. hopefully he was wrong for our goods lol

Yeah, a real DNA40 would do the same thing if the atty wasn't calibrated. Coil wrapping, atty design, mod design and leg length also have a LOT to do with it, since lets not forget its using an average resistance reading of the entire length of wire to determine temp. Plus being off by 0.01 ohm is can add something like a 40 degree inaccuracy.

Nicole's review of the Kangxin Flask is up, by the way:

Vapor Flask V3 Clone Review | Vaping Cheap

However, my personal tastes and preferences for Temperature Protection do not matter. What does matter is that Shenzhen Kangxin Technology managed to accomplish what 99% of vapers said would never happen, which was to make a real working Temperature Protected variable wattage chip.

I dry burned at 420° but didn't think to video it. First build with Ni200 was as expected. Was a bit of a pain in the ... but I got it working. I tried dual vertical coils on a Fogger V4 first but it ended up being too low. Ended up with a spaced single coil on the Kayfun V4 and it's working like a champion! Loving it thus far!

Question though, how do you guys feel about recharging batteries with the USB if you run them down about half way throughout the day and just top them off overnight while you sleep? Would you eventually want to swap the batteries from side to side or swap them out with another set or what?

Also, mine came in a white box with a picture of the flask on front. What's the difference between mine and the ones you see that come in the yellow box like in the review link above?

The yellow box was the first revision, sans USB. They used those boxes for about a month.

I wouldn't sweat a $12 pair of batteries too much, at the lowish amp draw per battery on this device it's no big deal if they're a little lopsided. Still better to get a $15 external charger IMHO, just because of the poor track record USB charge ports have on mods.

Its OK to top them up without them being fully discharged, no problem there, but some don't like their devices/batteries charging while they are asleep, just in case something goes wrong. It is generally recommended to only charge lithium batteries when you are awake and in the general area of the batteries being charged. If the charging device fails it can get real nasty. This is why many people have multiple batteries and an external charger.

No need to swap battery positions, and you would only want to change the pair out for another set if you had say 4 batteries or more and wanted to use them all evenly. What you don't want to do is replace only one battery, or fit 2 batteries that aren't the same voltage, its important that both batteries have the same voltage when fitted, which is easily achieved by fitting 2 batteries straight off an external charger.
