vaporesso luxe started to damage my batt wraps on the first attempt to remove them for an external charge. Now I just want to go back to usb charging, i know everyone recommends external charging but I don't want to damage the batt wraps.

I have a luxe and although it can be a pain to remove the battery door, my wraps are fine.

Do you own a hair dryer? Battery wraps are cheap and very easy to replace.
