And if the SX Mini was $100 to $130, I would be recommending it more. And as for the ipv4? the dna 40 is a much better chip then the SX330, regardless of warranty diffences.

You really can't help yourself, can you?. I was simply providing warranty information and you couldn't resist adding entirely subjective nonsense.

And, in the interest of correctness, the ipv4 has a 6 month warranty, not 12 months as I had previously indicated.

@Oberon75 Dude, each to their own - but no way are you gonna convince me a VS is more bang for buck, and NO WAY will you convince me the Evolv chip is more accurate then an SX350J lmao. Temp adjusts on the DNA40 in 10F increments, unlike the 1F increments on the SX350J. Apart from my comment on the looks, no other advantage i mentioned for the M Class is subjective, its fact.

Just Google search 'SX350J chip issue', then google 'Evolv DNA40 chip issue', see what happened? You only need to search 'DNA40 vs SX350J' to find the general consensus - of course individual opinion and preferences will differ, from mod makers and techy's to end users, they almost all tend to agree the SX350J board is by far superior in pretty much every way it can be. It took Evolv 5 DNA40 versions just to lock in nickel resistance.

Being china-made isn't part of the argument at all, I only highlighted VS being China made as many believe it is made in the USA - i've even seen the 'made in USA' tagline on vendor sites - which i believe is at least a contributing factor towards it's initial unholy price.

BTW in regards to the 'For people who don't need higher watts, the rDNA is a better purchase' comment, you do realize you can turn the power down to 5W/J on the SX Mini right?

Full charge in 90 mins is a great feature, but not fussed personally as 18650 will last me all day and my rotation ensures i've always got a charged battery for the following day
Watch pbusharo's hour and a half long review. Even he will tell you the Evolv chip is more accurate in temp control. In temp control, the SX350j is almost identical to the SX330 in the IPV4. The only real difference is, the SX350j can fire lower and you can change the ramp times.

Again. I own both mods. My posts are non biased. I have both with me right now.

I woke up this morning, and the battery bar on my rDNA40 was showing like half full. Then after a couple of hits, it jumped back up to nearly all the way full. I've heard of this issue before, but don't know much about it. Is this a defect that could be fixed with a replacement unit, or is it "just how they are" and something I'll have to learn to live with?

Lol Psubardo, i've seen enough of him to know
  1. he comments on things he knows nothing about
  2. he is biased
Aside from my own experience using the two chips, there's enough evidence freely available on near enough every vape forum or blog where the two chips are thoroughly tested and compared by experienced mod makers as well as vapers, and the SX350J comes out on top almost every time. You clearly prefer your VS and that's fine nothing wrong with that i'm sure it's the favored device of many.

We seem to have arrived at an impasse so i shall make no further comment, it's all irreverent anyways as long as you're happy with it that's all that matters.

...But the SX350J is still the far superior chip, and the SX Mini M Class is much better then the crappy Vaporshark, it's science lol ;)

My old Vaporflask used to do the same thing it really annoyed me right up until i sold it but it didn't effect the performance of the device. Since even the latest EVOLV chips are still non-upgradeable, there's no fix outside of a chip transplant or replacing the entire device

Yes but would that even fix it, or is it just a flaw in the design, that would occur in all the units?

Not sure what the cause is, only know my DNA40 chip with that problem was a v2, and some have had the same issue while others haven't. I would be surprised if the new DNA40 (v5) devices have this issue, the latest Evolv chip actually looks pretty good, just too bad for anyone with an earlier version.

Evolv covers the chips for 1 year so maybe you could contact them and get a replacement, maybe even slide them a little extra to upgrade you to the latest version.

Pretty sure this IS the latest version, with the "atty lock" feature? I don't have a nickel coil to test with but it's advertised on their site as having the "resistance lock" for nickel builds. That's the newest one there is, yeah? Is there a way to check what version I have?

Another thing...for anyone else who has one, does yours do this when you view it from an angle?

H6Tvg7q.jpg

(That's the left side, when it's in "left mode." In "right mode" I can see the whole thing from pretty much any angle. It's only a small annoyance, but it is an annoyance nonetheless. I know, I'm probably being overly-picky here, but it's my new baby and I paid a lot of money for it. If that's how they all are I'll just suck it up and deal with it but if not, I should make them fix or replace it.)

I will add this...For the money, power and battery life and 3 modes(Kanthal,NI,TI) the Evic Vt is a much better option then the VS IMO and still half the price. Since we brought up Mr Busardo he said on his site the Evic has been his best experience with temp control to date.
I'm not here to argue with anyone lol. But I chose the Evic-VT that reason. Saved like $60 to buy juice with.

Well I contacted their customer service, who told me that 1: most of them are like that, but 2: they could adjust it for me anyway if I sent it in for service. Which I think I'm gonna do, since it won't cost me anything, and even just a small thing like this could end up bugging me in the long run since the way I hold it, I see it like this every time I look at the screen.
