Yea well there are ways to keep people from voting twice like comparing your ip. There is no need to have to give your e-mail address. Either the person who is conducting the survey is ignorant or they want your e-mail address. E-mail addresses are valuable. Especially targeted addresses. Expect e-cig spam soon.

I disagree: you can give any fake e-mail address, read the thread, then you understand more about it.

I have read the thread(s). you can disagree all you want to, it doesn't change the facts. What I said is true. Most people are not savvy enough to use a fake address. I would think most of the people on this forum are not aware of the ability to create fake addresses. I base that assumption on 30 years of surfing the net, about 25 years of cleaning crap off of other persons computers.

So I will paste what I said before:

I used to be in advertising. In the old days a name and an address for a given product was a gold mine. Today it's an e-mail address. THEY DON'T NEED YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS!

If you don't know what I meant by ip you don't need to be advising other people about what is safe and what is not.

Don't blind yourself by brand loyalty. I realize you love imeothanasis. I think he builds some of the best devices on the market. That doesn't change the FACTS.

THEY DON'T NEED YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS!

Many companies don't need you e-mail address and many ask for it, And it is no big deal to give it IMHO. I myself work within the IT industry for 20 years +, so yes I know all about it. Besides, if they ask for it, should that be a reason not to vote? You can fill out any address, it still works. Anyway, let's move on, Happy Vaping!!

Your in IT and you don't care about spam?

Yes.

And who knows to do that?

What don't you understand about this.

THEY DON'T NEED YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS!

It's not like you are doing business with them.
THEY DON'T NEED YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS! If you were my IT tech you would be gone because of a lack of understanding of users and a severe lack of understanding of the Internet. Of course your bosses know even less than you do so you are probably safe for a while.

yes, I know my friend, your statement is clear and I tend to agree, only I am not so paranoid. We have proxy servers, great SPAM solutions and other measurements taken.
I hardly receive any SPAM. If you have hotmail or some other crappy e-mail solution, you will receive spam on a daily basis, even if you do not give out your e-mail address.

Also the people here are not so dumb as you think, if they are, they have already a lot of spam and will learn.
If you where in advertising, I would not want to be your customer because of your tone and being a paranoid person!
