Alright, call me crazy but here is the message I just sent to the guy who posted the first video, EskimoVaper. I've edited out my phone number because I'm only half insane ... or half sane if you are an optimist.

-------

OK, this is going to seem absolutely crazy on my end but I can't think of any other way to prove anything, so here it is. 1-801-xxx-xxxx ... that is my cell phone number. It is my primary phone and if you want to just go post it, you could really make my life a pain. I guess I could change it but that is the number my mother uses when she calls.

I'm not going to freak out and scream at you but I'm sure you are a big boy and could take it if I did. Give me a call. I'll be around for the next 3 hours, until 9:30pm MST. If you can't do it today, give me a call tomorrow. I'll have it on me all day. I also suggest you head over to e-cigarette-forum.com and take a look at my posts under the username voidNIL. I'm going to go ahead and let everyone know that you have my number and can verify my identity whenever you would like.

That was a pretty crappy thing you did and you should have the character to make it right.

Well, we'll see how that goes...
I commented on his video that the claim was BS and I got a message back from him saying that "his fake proxy links to a chinese site" (whatever that means) and then he called me ... well, I can't really say it in polite company.

He doesn't seem to understand domain registration. People also don't seem to get that you can choose to have your registration be private- so that every weirdo out there doesn't get your home address.

EDIT::: well, it looks like he deleted his comment to me, maybe he's decided to take a closer look into it after all.

At this point it's just a matter of pride I imagine. If all the people that posted warnings about this were to admit they'd made a mistake they'd look pretty foolish. Much easier on their egos to pretend they were justified.

Taking responsibility can be difficult for some.
You are 100% correct. My thoughts exactly.

are any of the videos still up? i wanna comment on them

Please do.
People still seem to think this is about Chinese mods vs. American ones.

sigh.

The only issue is that claiming that this site is phishing or spamming with NO PROOF is wrong. But they're more interested in flaming and being hysterical.

VoidNil,

I have a feeling you are going to have to make a rebuttal video for youtube. Show them that you are an American and that you are not out to steal the American ideas.

Everyone,

Do these people not realize how ridiculous they sound? Why on earth would they go through the trouble of creating a fake awards with an American IP address just to find out what people like when they could easily go to www.e-cigarette-forum.com and find out? I don't own a chuck or a prodigy but I will in the near future simply because I have done my research on this forum and found that these were two of the top mods.

Another thing, one of those guys said that the Chinese were giving e-cigs a bad name. Uhm, need I remind you that if it weren't for the Chinese, we wouldn't even have e-cigs??? That's where they were invented genius!

My last point...the guy also speculated that the reason for this award thing was so that the Chinese could take the top products and manufacture them cheaper. Call me crazy but I think we all know by now that things that are mass produced in China may not be the same quality as something produced in America. It's made cheaper; therefore IS cheaper. Why do you think all of the American companies started outsourcing?? What I don't understand is why everyone would get their panties in a wad if this rumor was actually true. A little healthy competition has never hurt anyone and ultimately drives the prices down. That's called marketing.

Oh one more idea. We need to compile a list of people who are spreading this rumor as fact. Especially people who do reviews and give a lot of advice. I would like to know who is credible and who is not.

I don't want to take advice from someone who is spreading hearsay as fact. With that said, please withdraw my nomination for MoobyGhost as one of the top reviewers. Thanks.

Logical thinking is wasted on those not capable of logical thought ..... but thanks for your clear analysis of this.

I have submitted my nomination retraction to VoidNil and received this response. I am posting it at the request of VoidNil.

VoidNIL's response
"It is your nominations and I will change it to anything you want but I'd like you to reconsider. Have you talked to Moobyghost? I just sent him a PM a couple minutes before I saw your PM. I'm actually a fan of Mooby and he and GrimmGreen were the reason I decided to put so much effort into this. I thought it would be a way to give back a bit to the community in the same way they did when making their videos.

I'll wait to hear back from your before changing anything."

Back to me talking:
You guys might want to wait until Void receives a response from them. I don't think I can look past the jumping to conclusions and accepting the rumor as fact; however, I can see how they would lean more that way do to the circumstantial evidence. They were making an educated guess but it was one-sided.

Void, please let me know the general consensus of their response. If they refuse to see your side, please go ahead with the retraction. Thanks.

So who started this rumor? Was it ever based on anything more than "feelings"?
i was around for the onset of this and i was to say the least caught off guard with some of the info i received. i had to treat the initial information as accurate until more information was known. what i can say is that void has updated the site. my issues have for the most part been resolved.
I also sent Moobyghost a PM this morning. I am awaiting his rsponse.
i am also waiting to speak with him my self. the comment on his site was modified slightly for the moment. TGWTF.net simple advises an at your own risk sort of thing at the moment with most of the original content in tact. once i speak with mooby regarding this that statement may change.
