I am using the tritan 650 mAh. I'm really not sure what to get. We also bought the V2 starter kit with the standard battery and the long battery. I have read that the variable is better with different juices. I want something that will last, but don't want to spend a lot of money.

Sir, you are right. The VV is so much better when it comes to trying different juices. For instance i notice i need a high voltage on my VV triton when im using darker juices and thicker juices. I can stay around 4.3 volts when using a light or thinner juice. I prefer using the 3.0 ohm coils with my VV. Do a google search for Ohms law calculator or vaping wattage chart. I can attest to one thing though, for as much as i love my triton VV it is probably one of the more expensive ones out there.

Adding VV adds length to the eGo style units for the extra electronics. They max out at 4.8v and are a bit amp limited but otherwise they are commonly recommended, reasonable cost and easy to use. Spinner comes to mind. No readout or fancy ohm-meter. Vamo comes to mind with more features and so-so construction at a good price point. There are others.

Basically, you have to research and maybe select the latest fad-of-the-month or whatever and let us know! ;)

Ok. This is a good value and good quality vv kit:
http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

You get to choose from either a Twist or a Spinner. The Spinners are a bit better in my view. You also can pick what size batteries - from 650mah up to 1300mah.
And for toppers - Evods or MT3s - I'd get one of each.

That gives you two batteries and two good clearos.

OR

Get one Spinner for $25
Vision Spinner VV eGo Battery 1300mAh

And an MT3 or two:
Kanger MT3 eGo B/C Clearomizer

Check out some of the YouTube videos from various reviewers (PBusardo and GrimmGreen have reviewed just about everything between them), you will be able to see some different devices in action and get a good idea of their size and price at the same time. There is not really one "right answer" for your question, it depends on what you are going to feel comfortable using.

All batteries similar in size to your Triton 650mah battery have a life expectancy of +/- 300 charge cycles, some folks get substantially less some get a little more.

Some juices do not benefit from higher voltage, depending on resistance of delivery device, flavorings used, pg/vg ratio and your personal taste preferences you never know how a juice will react to increased voltage until you try.

Well your Q asks which is the best VV. That would be the Provari, but you will be in it about $200 (3 cartons of smokes) for it to be up & running. If you want quality that will last it's a good buy.

A VAMO is about $50 (7 packs of smokes). Vamo's work well, but the build quality leaves a little to be desired IMO.

A Twist or Spinner is about $25 (3.5 pack of smokes). They are great entry level VV's, but with limitations.

Ok, I see from previous posts that you're smoke free and now vaping for about a month, and you're using a triton fixed battery now. Ok, an upgrade for you, as your post implies, is variable voltage. Entry level variable voltage includes the ego and stick batteries about the size of a pen. Here's my take on these, with some links for you to review. Sounds like you are ready for an ego or stick battery. Some thoughts and where to check them out:

Stick Batteries, known as eGo Style Batteries (entry level, backup, out and about, stealth, primary):

Trusted Vendors shown, but NOT selected based on pricing, you'll still need to shop around. You will need device specific battery chargers (which often come in kits) for these devices. Also, kits often provide two batteries allowing for simultaneous vaping while charging of the backup. Each of the eGo style batteries below have both 510 and eGo thread connections. As such, they are compatible with most toppers, including most Kanger products. Additionally, each of these devices has at least variable voltage, which allows you to adjust and regulate the battery output voltage, providing customizable vapor production, temperature, throat hit, and finding the "sweet spot" for your juices to suit your individual vaping preferences:

    1. Innokin iTaste 3.0 vv/vw, usb passthrough, ohms reader, etc. - https://ivape.net/index.php/iTaste-VV-3.0-Variable-Wattage-Device-Pearl-Chrome.html (variable power, LCD display, +/- buttons, Usb passthrough, 3.3 - 5.0 volts, 6.0 - 11.0 watts, 800mAh)
    2. SLB KGO VV - http://www.hoosierecig.com/Mega-KGO-VV-1200mAh-3-6v-_p_441.html (LCD display, +/- buttons, Usb passthrough, 3.0 - 6.0 volts, 650 - 1200mAh)
    3. Vision Spinner - http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_VV_eGo_Battery_1300mAh_p/vs-s1300.htm (3.3 - 4.8 volts, 1300mAh)
    4. Joyetech Twist - http://www.cloudsofvapor.com/store/...1227-ego-twist-1000-mah-battery-in-black.html (3.2 - 4.8 volts, 650 - 1000mAh)
    5. Smoktech Winder - http://www.madvapes.com/smok-ego-winder-900mah-variable-volt-battery.html (3.2 - 4.8 volts, 900 - 1100mAh)

Best Starter Combo kit out there, imho, provides two batteries, i.e., the twist and/or spinner, and two toppers, i.e., the eVod and/or MT3s, among others: Vision Spinner Joye Ego-C Twist Combo.

Recommend one eVod and one MT3s topper with one Spinner and one Twist to start. This way you get four different products with the kit and allowing you to experience four different setups, as you figure out your preferences and what works best for you. If you don't need the toppers, because you already have them, you can just order two batteries with charging cables. If you do have the toppers and don't need the evods, or whatever, I might suggest the iTaste 3.0 (two of them as backups are necessary). The IVape link above works and they are on sale today for $35 each with coupon code "itastevv".

Good luck to you, happy shopping, Power Up and Vape On!

Been vaping on and off for a year or so now, just an entry level KR8 setup with clearomizers. I recently ordered a pass through model and now the batteries just don't get it. I'm also getting increasing pressure from my son (and he has enlisted the help of his 4 y/o daughter) to get me off analogs once and for all so I simply have to up my e-cig game to even think of being successful. This thread has given me a starting point so thanks to the OP for asking the question and thanks to all the rest for your advice!
