Oh, Heisnberg I do recall you posting about a tip now, did not know it was this one. I love, love, love JMK tips and my local shop has them as well. I got the two Ciro tips for only $35 straight up, not sure how that compares with the price in the US but the shop was charging $22 for them and then add tax as well, I got a good deal IMO. JMK tips are pricey and to some it may seem stupid to spend $20+ on a tip but I am grown and work for my money, I have a few of the shorter tips and I also have a few of the wide bore 510 tips in derlin. I really love those tips.
Oh don't get me wrong, I wasn't saying anything about your money lol that's none of my business, just to me it's expensive to only buy 1 of his tips when I should buy 2 ya know. Sounds stupid I know but that's how I am. And I'm like you, I have a bunch of of his tips, that's why I said he's not cheap lol. And for what you paid for 2 of them, that's an amazing deal, it would cost that much for 1 alone with shipping.

I'm surprised your tip is getting hot. Mines been at around .35 and it's never gotten hot. That's weird. Update: I got my delrin cap today! It looks sweet I love it, definitely a good buy.

Just wanted to post my experience from this morning. Long story short, I have had a build in my vector that hasn't been performing well (spit back, tip getting very hot, poor vapor production). Rather than spending the time to rebuild, I looked on the counter at my authentic mutation x v2 and go figure, the vector cap fits perfectly over the MX deck base. I have a .6 ohm dual coil 26g setup in it and WOW. While the coils sit closer to center (not directly below the air holes) the vapor and flavor production is remarkably good. Just wanted to let everyone know that it is possible and actually works very well. Also adds the ease of building with the positive block on the MX deck.
Must be airy as heck. I'll give it a shot on my v3. The CLTV3 IS a killer atty with low or higher ohms and high wattage. It's a can't miss for me.

Thanks @TorontoOntario ... I was using the 28g k and then i think i had the hex turned up too high cause when i went to fire and compress the coils they just wilted down to the side lol. And then in trying to fix them they snapped or were just too lopsided.

I have some 24 and 26 g coming, maybe that will be a bit easier - that and turning down the hex.

I really like it so far, the big posts and deep well seem to make it quite forgiving for a beginner. And thanks to this thread i got a couple for 32 bucks each, given the packaging and feel of the thing I feel like i got a great deal.

Also does seem to be very drip proof, aside from operator error it has been dry as a bone.

It is a wee bit spitty but not enough to make it not enjoyable, the flavor is fantastic. I figure if i still like it in a couple of weeks i might get a v1 aesolus.. Since it has good reviews, is another nonleaker and maybe with the extranheight a wee bit less spitty?

Loving it though, easily beats the atlantis for flavor (although not by a huge amount, its a good tank) but mostly i like the ritual of it and the fact i am freed from having to get replacement coils. :)

It's no airier than the vector with the normal base. I'm using the vector cap and airflow, just on a MXV2 deck. It actually seems to make for even more of a reduced chamber. I rebuilt my vector base and have been having a much better experience than before though. Toss up for now as to which deck I like better in it.

Madangus: you wont find an authentic aeolus, if you wanna clone then go for it, I am just letting you know NEW I dont think you will find it. I would caution against the v2 IMO from what I have herd but I have not actually held it. Im regards to your coils and so forth I take it your a new builder, im going to PM --errr, start a convo with you.

Heisnberg, I did not mean to imply you were saying anything to me haha I just meant some people probally think its insane to spend $25 on a tip but we all do what we want, you got some of his tips so ya know. Didnt mean anything about it, I think your a cool dude for sure.

Wharfrat, you like the Vector more then the Stumpy? Why, what do you like/dislike about both atties? For the short period I vaped a Stumpy (EM mini tip) it was amazing. I belive if I get another one which I should and if I get the chuff style it will be even better. I love two post drippers though so much. Manta is one of my favroite drippers EVER and the draw is a bit to tight for my prefrences of late, I hope to one day have a v2.

I ordered this for $33 after studying this thread, after first seeing it I was intrigued by the aesthetics alone. I was a little disappointed to begin with because of the heat transfer. After rebuilding though (making my legs longer and also lowering the coils) this thing is amazing. I couldn't be happier even if it weren't for the great price. Will be shelving most of my other toppers for sure!

Still trying to perfect Stumpy builds but the sole fact that the Vector will not leak does it for me. The Stumpy is a stone cold rip of the Derringer. That goofy top cap insert is kind of stupid.

Just for the sake of scientific curiosity:
Would you mind attempting to marry the Vector cap to the Velocity or Stumpy bases (both)?

I'm attracted to the top airflow, but I enjoy twisted 26ga single coils. the 2-post design of the velocity and stumpy fit that bill, but I dunno if I can acheive the top-flow, too. If it works, 2 atties are going to become 1 for me lol.

Pics and opinion would be appreciated!

The whole reason I haven't gotten a Velocity yet is the side airflow and huge cap design. The two post deck would be amazing in the Vector cap!

That's what I'm hoping to hear from WharfRat from experience. Someone with both (all 3) will be able to define the plausibility! Hopefully it's successful. Then it'll be on the the shopping for me. As of now, all I have is the Derringer (clone)

Hey WharfRat,
Do you happen to have a Aeolus, too? Maybe that top-flow cap on one of the 2 post bases wouldpotentially be equally awesome. Just shooting in the dark... for educated decision-making.
I happen to have an Aeolus v1 clone. I'll check the cap tonight.

ok, I'm sold!

To preface this, I'm still new at building so, I know how good this is is gonna get better. Got my Vector from our host yesterday. Dual coil, 28ga, 3mm, coming out to .85 ohms. The coils are ugly as sin and I have to get the position and rayon right but, right off the flavor and air is wonderful.

Dig the look quite a bit especially on the SX M and the taste of MVJ's Magnum Opus is beautiful.

Thanks again Mr. Mann! It kicksass!

Vector cap fits my Aeolus clone deck. Little loose on the rings but the posts clear.

What I was after was whether the Aeolus or Vector cap fit on the Velocity deck. I'm looking to morph a top-flow with the 2-post like the Velocity or Stumpy. Thanks for checking that tho!
