did you check the pollen count during the days you had puffy eyes? do you have any other allergies? maybe there was something else causing it and just coincident?
I haven't experienced this with candy bar. the more it has steeped the more caramel has come out but haven't noticed much else beyond the flavor maturing. not arguing against you personally but I not sure how a vaporized e-liquid would cause an allergic reaction to something you're not allergic to.
However, I'm not a doctor.
Pollen count has been extremely low, per interwebz research
That's fine, totally understand.. I couldn't connect the dots for 10 days. I've only had 2 allergic-reaction episodes to food in my life.. once when I was a little kid (tried strawberries for the 1st time & ate a bunch, broke out in hives as I was eating them.. yet never been allergic to them since, edible or vapable).. and several years back was eating at a buffet, broke out in hives & swollen hands later that day (never figured out what it set it off)
Only other e-juice was the clove, as I mentioned.. Was never allergic to clove cigs years ago
And I've never had problems with eating/touching/smelling peanuts all my life.. last time I ate them was probably a couple months ago, was perfectly fine
Adults can develop allergies at any time in their life
Remember, vaping is still fairly new.. lots of stuff we don't know... Ingredients that are considered "GRAS" (Generally Recongized As Safe) by the FDA is only meant for consumption -- not necessarily for vaporization & subsequent inhalation
I was vaping indoors in front of a computer all day.. vapor sticks around longer than you think... And that vapor was just sitting in front of my face... Exhale in front of your monitor, and that stuff is coming right back at you... lots of tiny peanut particles. I also tend to exhale slowly through my nose.. affecting mostly my eyes is not a stretch.. I'd consider that a mild reaction, given what can happen sometimes at a more severe level
Candy Bar, at least my bottle, is fairly potent in the peanut dept.. it's the dominant flavor, and can really stink up a room with it, LOL
When I started putting 2 & 2 together, I did a boatload of research on peanut allergies, all the types of conjunctivitis, etc. There's just too much "coincidence" with the timing, the symptoms & the cures
I might try vaping it a little in the future, just to confirm.. but I really don't think I need to.. I'm pretty convinced
It's just one of those things.. I now know to stay away from any juices that use cloves or peanuts.. not a biggie, not a lot of them out there, anyway.. and not exactly my favorites to begin with
And I'm certainly not blaming VCV.. They've even got a disclaimer there for Candy Bar
I'll continue to buy VCV, and even try new flavors.. but just thought I'd throw it out here for others who might run into a similar situation...
Anyway, I should start a thread to see if others have experienced any allergic reactions to any juices...
