I am trying so hard to like the Ice beard, but am not having much luck with it. It imparts a taste I find almost nauseating.

I ordered several other tobaccos from them, but am going to let them steep for a month before trying them.

MewLew's Magic is just okay, and the Vanilla Custard they sent as a sample has almost no flavor. I use it to change out flavors in my dripper.

I really like Night Shift. I think it will be in my regular mornings with coffee rotation.

I also like Strawberry Gwab, but won't reorder.

I know taste is very subjective. There are many juices from other vendors I love, yet others are not not liking all that much.

I'm beginning to think with the exception of Night Shift, VCV might just not be my thing.

Thanks I will check out the vivi vfates, I'm open to trying just about anything to find something I like that works really well. I will also pick up some Iclear16s and compare them to my ce4s. I have a couple ce4s but the rest of them leak like crazy from the bottom and top. If weird all the ones that leak like crazy are ones with very sweet flavors in them, I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it??

I'll have to let my ice beard steep for a little while then try it again. I like it I just wish it had more flavor and way more menthol, like I said I don't taste any menthol in it. I will also try it in my protank when I use up what's in it.

On the V-Fates: If you over fill them or leave them on their side too long, they can leak. I've made it work fine, as I really like the vape from them. I even take a 2.0ml V-Fate on a ego style battery snowboarding with me. I keep it in one of the chest pockets of my outer layer, never had it leak then. They are definitely worth trying IYAM.

I've got a theory now to why I like Ice Beard in the iClear 30 better than the iClear 16...


Menthol isn't necessary something you taste, per se.. but more of a sensation, from what I understand..

And since pretty much any flavor in the 30 is slightly muted compared to the 16, this dulls the Ice Beard tobacco taste somewhat, enough for me to notice the menthol sensation more

With the 16, the overload of the tobacco just overwhelms the tastebuds, "forcing" me to focus more on the tobacco taste, and not the menthol sensation

Just a theory, anyway..


I hope in their next flavor line-up release, they offer something with a stronger menthol concentration for those looking for it.. Of course, with that you also run the risk of the menthol potentially attacking certain plastics... I've run into that before with a certain very strong (i.e., way too strong) menthol in a cheap clearo (Johnson Creek Vea Canteen).. basically was "melting" the plastic mouthpiece a little, even causing it to snap in half oftentimes while unscrewing it -- NOT cool!*

I recall it was around that point where I started thinking, "Hey, maybe I should pay a little more attention to what I'm putting into my lungs with this e-juice stuff, here.." LOL

Which eventually lead me down a winding road to VCV

Come to think of it, maybe that's why they go light on the menthol...


*Note: This is also why I originally 1st tried Ice Beard in the iClear 30, since it has a metal mouthpiece as opposed to the 16's delrin tip; I don't recall if the Vea mouthpiece was delrin or some other plastic.. guessing the latter

Put me down as a Sour Skittles fan!

Not only do I like the flavor (especially after steeping all week), and maybe it's just my healed throat due to 6 months cig-free, but even at 3mg I'm getting a decent throat-hit (it's the grape in there.. Catherine the Grape does the same for me)


The Strawb-Gwab is good, but I think over many months I've finally come to realize that I'm personally not a huge strawberry juice guy.. took me enough of it from various brands to figure it out, LOL.. Never re-ordered VCV's because of that.. I probably like the guava aspect more...

When I started vaping I tried many fruit type flavors and nothing really appealed to me. Gave me a perfume or fabreeze taste. My last order thru VCV I asked to sample a fruity flavor and was sent strawb gawb and I think I'm going to have to give all their fruit flavors a try, it's really good. Not artificial tasting or like any other fruit flavors I've had.

I think I'm going to have to give Catherine the Grape, Sour Skittle and maybe fruit cup or summer sweet a try.

Well, they do have a finite # of juices currently available..


And as you try more, your former favorites might get pushed down the totem pole as you could find you like some "new" flavors better..

I know as I explore further, Night Shift & Harvest Berry, which I loved off the bat, got pushed aside by stuff in their same categories, like Nutty Cookie & Sour Skittles


There's probably some stuff you also just don't want to try.. I'm definitely staying away from the caramels, as well as Maple Mountain Breakfast.. zero interest in those

But.. now that I've got some unflavored, I'm interested in trying some of their heavy fudge/chocolates (Mewlew's, Chocolate Pudding) which could potentially be tamed down now by cutting it... I liked the taste of Monkey Business, but it was just TOO much for me


End goal? Find a handful of VCVs that will be hard to get sick of no matter how much of them I vape.. and then start dabbling in another brand, thinking possibly Ahlusion (or if anybody else has some comparable suggestions)

Until VCV comes out with some new flavors, of course

Thanks again for the recommendation I have a couple I want to try now. I just ordered a protank2 mini because I like the protank2 and from everything I have read on reviews here there seems to be a consensus that the mini is even better...better fast, more vape, and you can let them go below 1/3 full without them leaking

And do both have replaceable coil heads? The ce4s I have you can't take apart or replace the coils in them. They are pretty much disposable. I have one I soaked in hot water the other day and it's dried out now, it was one I used pg flavors in...so I may try that with one of the samples I get

Ya know you guys are not making this very easy on me, they all sound so good and there are 4 I really want to try now. Unfortunately my sample was mewlews magic and I really don't like any of the flavors in them and I break out with chocolate so I probably won't even try that one.

I have another bottle of ice beard coming tomorrow with 12mg nicotine instead of the 0mg I got today. I'm going to see what sample I get tomorrow and go from there. If I like it I will order a big bottle of it if I don't I can cross it off my list. Either way I will be making another order to vcv this weekend and try a couple more out. On the top of my last is as I mentioned is strawgawb, sour skittles, and peach tea. I also want to try harvest berry, summer sweet, and fruit cup but they all kinda seem a little similar so I will have a hard time deciding between them. I like a lot of flavor, can anyone recommend one of those 3 that has a lot of flavor?? And I want to try the vanilla custard at some point too, I really like vanilla and sweet and I read in the reviews it has both. I got a vanilla from virgin vapors and I thought it was a very light vanilla taste, I could hardly taste it. So...out of all those vcv liquids I mentioned I think I am going to narrow it down to 2 of them and place another order this weekend...maybe 3 lol. It all depends on what my sample is tomorrow and how much I like it. Lol decisions decisions

Just to make matters worse, there's actually 4 versions from Innokin, LOL..

original 16 (what I use) -- top dual-coil
16SC -- top single-coil
16B -- bottom dual-coil (not a fan of it)
16D -- bottom dual-coil


Did a quick search, I've never ordered from these guys (looks to be based in TX?), but just for original 16 verification purposes..

Yeah, original 16's have the replaceable heads.. something like $2-$2.50 each


For the price of these things, you really can't beat them.. they're little work-horses.. they can have their slight issues, but every topper I think does, nothing's perfect.. Out of 6 clearos I've tried, these give the best flavor, IMO... Use them on my Sigelei Zmax V3 & my ProVari.. wouldn't go any smaller than that for a clearo, but they look fine on those two

If I want to carry around a few flavors if I'm away from home all day, I'll throw a few in a small ziploc bag, just in case..

They state 1.6ml capacity, but you can get away with up to 2ml with no problems.. can vape til the last drop or so, as long as the wicks are coated with juice


Every 8-10 fills, I take apart (5 main pieces), rinse everything under warm water (don't lose any o-rings or anything!), dry, screw back the head to its base, put that on the PV, dry-burn to clean the coils (under the stove exhaust), then disassemble that & re-rinse the head, dry again, and re-assemble everything... takes a couple minutes, good as new

The tanks are polycarbonate, so I wouldn't use a powerful menthol, cinnamon or citrus in them, just in case.. I don't vape those flavors anymore, anyway.. but get something else in glass if you ever do!


No, they're not $100 toppers, LOL.. but like I said, really good flavor... Plus you can get a bunch for $50 or whatever, and have a boatload of flavors ready at your fingertips..

My suggestion is to order the 15ml bottles, and don't get too gung-ho with any re-orders early on.. easy trap to fall into, since you might like a new flavor better that's in the same vein/category


As for Harvest Berry, Summer Sweet & Fruit Cup, I can only speak for HB... Anybody feel free to jump in to agree or disagree, but after a proper steep, HB's main flavor is cherry, probably followed by raspberry & strawberry.. the blueberry is very mild

I recall a couple people mentioning that Summer Sweet has a strong watermelon to it?


Anyway, you can always try requesting a particular sample flavor in the Comment box during check-out.. Seems lately they're not taking exact requests, but even if you just ask for any fruit flavor, in general, they might do that...

A few things, though..

- He should have done it sooner
- He should have rinsed the mouthpiece, too
- He should have rinsed the head once more after the dry-burn
- He shouldn't have dry-burned at a high wattage
- You can straighten the wicks after it's re-assembled by using a straightened paper clip
- Vape with cleaner juice like VCV & clean more often, and you can get a HECK of a lot more life out of one... 40 fills & still going strong!

Yeah my last recent order didn't come with the sample I requested either. I like to request samples of stuff I didn't yet order to see if I wanna add them to my juices. Unfortunately, they sent a sample of White Beard(of which I already have 50 mL). But...fortunately(on the other hand), it won't go to waste!!

I just ordered 2 of the Iclear16's like you have, I got them both for 11.99 including shipping. The more I read about them the more I liked what everyone said about them. I could t find too many people that didn't like them. I'll let you know how I like them. Thanks for posting that YouTube video too, very informative and I'll take your suggestions. Do you use the 2.1 ohm coil on yours?

I'm still waiting on my 16mg nic ice beard, I thought it would have come yesterday but it didn't. I just checked the tracking an it's at my local post office so it will definetly be here tomorrow. I can't wait to try it with the nic and I'm eager to try it in my new
protank mini too.

I really want to try the harvest berry now! I wanted to put in another order into vcv today but I want to wait until I see what sample comes with my ice beard. With my luck I would place an order today and it would be the sample I receive tomorrow. But I will definitely place another order tomorrow depending on what my what sample is.

I still have some coming from guilty pleasure organics too. Hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday for that one.

I think I am done with virgin vapor. I got 4 different flavors and non of them wowed me. The wintergreen from their regular line(non absolute) just tasted weird and still does. And not too much vapor from them either. Especially compared to the 0mg nic of ice beard I already got, I can't believe the vapor that produced...clouds and clouds

That's the way to do it for toppers at $10 each or less (or whatever) -- get only a couple to try first.. if you don't like 'em, no huge loss.. and if you do like them, get some more & plus some extra replacement heads... Been using these for months now (I've got a lot, since I went nuts with boatloads of juice brands & flavors ), and I've only had to replace one head so far.. Why? Because it was a strong nasty flavor, and could not get rid of the taste.. like it was permanently-etched into the wicks or something, LOL


Yeah, I use the 2.1 ohms for the 16's.. Not sure what PV you're using, but if it reads ohms, you'll see that they can range from 2.0 - 2.2... that's normal

Yeah, that's weird they listed them as bottom-coil, probably an oversight in their copy & paste template.. they're definitely top-coil.. the hanging wicks sort of give that away, LOL


Like I mentioned, they're great for having a bunch of them when you're still trying to find your groove in the juice department... inexpensive, good quality & performance, great flavor & easily portable.. You can taste different juices side-by-side quickly & easily without having to wash out more expensive toppers every time you want to change flavors -- you can save that part for later on in your vaping journey


The original iClear 30 isn't bad, either.. doesn't hold much more juice (can't fill it to the 3ml line), but I think gives a slightly harder hit & a little more vapor... The swivel tip is nice, which helps a little more performance-wise, but is also metal... And will run you like $11-$13 each, LOL... They're nice enough, & a little different (both good & bad) compared to the 16, but also not sure it's worth it at more than twice the price

That said, I've got a handful of those
