Velvet Cloud Vapor

I haven't read the previous 100 pages, so take this as a quick FWIW first impression:

I'd never heard of Velvet Cloud Vapor until I came across some at a Kiosk in a mall yesterday. I was looking for some low nic (for me means 6mg) juice to vape late in the evening, and this place had several Velvet Cloud flavors available for sampling. Unfortunately, the the only thing they had in 6 was a 120ml bottle of the Vanilla Custard and I wasn't ready to commit to that. But after sampling I bought a bottle of Vanilla Custard in 0 and a bottle of Night Shift in 12 because they'd complement each other. So now I'm sitting here dripping them alternately into an Igo-L. The combination is very pleasant. Neither flavor is overpowering, in fact I wonder if they might be too subtle for anything short of a dripper or a kayfun..

I've vaped just about every flavor VCV currently offers, primarily in a carto-tank and V-Fates. No shortness on flavor for me. I probably wouldn't like it much if the flavor was much stronger.

Straw gawb(12mg)
Night shift(12mg)
Harvest Berry(12mg)
Ice beard(18mg)

I went for the 18mg ice beard because I feel like I'm vaping 12mg for quite awhile and I just don't feel like I'm getting my nicotine fix. So I thought I would get a 18mg and vape that periodically during the day until I feel I have gotten my fix then switch off to my 12mg flavors. Hopefully that does the trick for me. I also got some flavors form free state vapor in 18mg to try that out too. Again I hope I can just switch on and off between the 12 and 18.

I was wondering if anyone could elaborate a bit on the difference between fruit cup and harvest berry? And how does summer sweet compare to these? Thanks everyone!!

Okay, few updates:


- Month-old Catherine the Grape (shipped early Feb) is very weak in flavor (smell & taste)... This bottle has always been this way from the start.. I even have another bottle of it received 3 weeks later, and that one smells a lot stronger like it's supposed to (haven't vaped it yet). They're both 30ml bottles, so it's not like the weak one needs more time to steep because it's larger or something... I'm guessing something happened where that batch just didn't have enough flavoring in it.. So for those who ordered around that time perhaps for the 1st time, saying that the flavor is too mild, I'm right there with you.. If that had been my 1st CtG, I'd be disappointed & wouldn't re-order it, either. I'm wondering if anything else from around that time was affected.. I still have 2 non-vaped bottles of other flavors from that same order, but those smell normal

- I recently duplicated the Candy Bar allergy experiment... I vaped 2ml's of it straight.. My eyes got red & itchy again.. I'm sure if I had continued it would have gotten even worse like last time. Was only a couple ml's left, so I trashed the rest

- I also recently tried White Beard for the 1st time in an iClear30 (as opposed to an iClear16 I was using)... The 30 always mutes flavors a little, but for some reason the WB tastes better in there.. The harsher WB throat-hit from the 16 is also toned down in the 30.. I've noticed the flavor thing with Ice Beard, as well.. so I'm wondering if all the VCV tobaccos just taste & perform better in the 30... will have to try my others in the future

Anyway, I'm guessing they mean VCV is 1 year old today (happy b-day!).. especially since they got their start in 2011, but I believe it was called SF Vapor back then or something, when in addition to their juice, they also used to sell vape gear like toppers & eGo-type batteries, etc...

I don't know if its me but so far i am pretty disappointed by my purchases through velvet vapor. I nought thet white beard, which i keep seeing everyone say is awesome, i took one hit of it and almost puked. It sure does taste like an old mans white beard lol. the other 2 i recieved have little to no flavor at all.

My White Beard tasted like grass/hay at 1st, and wasn't very vapeable.. took like 3 weeks of steeping to get really good

oh no not again...

my sour skittles still doesnt have much taste, but the taste it does have is cheap perfume. I don't get any fruit, and definitely no sour...

and does anyone else find that every single one of their flavors makes them very thirsty? Theres a weird dryness to them that I have not experienced before.

What I'm getting from my Sour Skittles is mild-to-medium strength natural grape & cherry as dominant flavors, with I believe something else in there like a blackberry/raspberry/blueberry playing a secondary role.. I can sort of see the perfumey/soapy/floraly thing, probably moreso the 1st few vapes when I haven't had SS in a while -- I think that might be the grape that's doing that, or maybe the blackberry (which is what I think the 3rd is)...

I wouldn't consider it as "sour".. I've always thought it was mis-named, and maybe a better name would be SweetTarts or something

A lot depends on what sort of topper you're using, I've noticed.. What sort of tank or whatever are you using?

EDIT: Just saw in an earlier post that you're using a Kayfun


I don't get an abnormal dryness/thirstiness from VCV.. vaping anything will dehydrate you, but I've found that PG does it to me way more

VCV is way too overrated. Just my opinion. Can't figure out why they're worshipped here. I wasn't impressed with my Night Shift or Peach Iced Tea. And after reading some of the pages here, there's a lot of unhappy campers as well.

Every post about any juice is an opinion! So far it is the best juice for me.

I appreciate that link, so thanks! I'm certainly going to check them out. Prices are a little higher than VCV, but they seem to have lots of flavors to try!! And I like a place that has sampler packs.

Ditto for the "so far the best juice I've had" part.. There are also hundreds of juice brands out there, with new ones coming online every month.. I haven't tried them all, LOL, but I'm sure there could be some better ones than VCV out there.. and even fewer of those that would meet my personal juice criteria... I'm not "married" to VCV, but I am happily well-stocked for a good while

Even though I really like the stuff overall, I do have my complaints & nit-picks which I've documented here.. no brand is perfect, even for this fanboy

And even other die-hard VCV "cheerleaders" here have shared some similar negatives at the individual flavor level


I also eagerly await VCV's new flavors, whenever that happens.. 24 (including unflavored) is a little on the low side, especially with some overlaps.. This is probably my biggest overall gripe, especially now that I'm nearing the end of my flavor trial period


Anyway, I'll let RuDawg be the guinea pig for Alchemy.. let us know how it compares!
