Curious if anyone has ever tried Blue beard tobacco? I was really looking forward to this and not to sound mean but it smells like rancid cow urine. Not that I smell that all the time but you get the picture. There is no way I can even try it it smells so bad.

Not sure what happen to the tobacco, blackberry or blueberries but it's not in this bottle. Anyone get it and it smelled or tasted good?

I just got a bottle yesterday. Vaped it on my walk into work this morning and enjoyed it. It is a bit perfumey, but I suspect that'll fall out with some time steeping. The berry notes are more apparent than the tobacco, absolutely. Black berry more so than blue berry, making for a more rich tart than sweet. I can imagine the perfume and tart of black berry could come off urine-esque, but I think steeping might be the solution.

A beautiful urine yellow. :) My sinuses are sealed shut at the moment (and I left my bottle of sinus blasting Icicles at home today), but the aroma is weak, more of a vanilla/caramel than a berry though.

Anyone a fan of Catherine the Grape? I got an order of Mewlew's Magic, Blue Beard and Catherine the Grape, and I think Catherine the Grape is my winner. The black currant really adds a dryness not dissimilar to a dry red wine. I think having been dragged around to wine tastings, I've grown an appreciation for that.

Rancid cow urine?

Sounds like maybe you got a really fresh batch (hay/grassy).. Mine's been steeping for 2.5 weeks now, just tried it again for the 1st time in over a week.. Definitely tastes better than it smells (and if you think that's bad, you should smell Burley Beard!)

I'm still getting a honey tobacco.. the honey isn't as overpowering as it once was, but still pretty prevalent... I'd love to be able to compare it side by side to how a fresh pack of cigs smells, as I've heard it described before as tasting like that, but my smoke days are long gone.. From what I recall, I'd say that's a pretty decent description for the base of VCV tobaccos, though

I'm still only barely getting brief hints of blackberry/blueberry.. Could be vaping with the wrong topper or power/voltage, or maybe needs to be steeped longer for that... I'd crank up the volts, but as with White Beard, Blue is giving me too strong a throat-hit now.. need to try it sometime in an iClear30.. seems to work better for me when vaping VCV tobaccos

Anyway, my Blue Beard is a darker orangey yellow, as well

How long has yours been steeping? Might take 2-3+ weeks.. But again, I think it tastes a lot better than it smells (which isn't "awful" -- just a little funky) even at 2.5 weeks

I think one or two people here have experience with even more-steeped Blue, like a month or more...?

I got it in a PIF so have no idea how old it is and I don't see a "born on" date. Just kinda bummed cuz tobacco, blackberry and blueberry is right up my alley. Guess I'll put it in the steep box and revisit in a month or so.

Another CtG fan, checking in! :D

My 1st bottle was awesome, especially with 3+ weeks of steeping, just kept getting more flavorful & punchy .. My 2nd is fairly disappointing, as the flavor is too mild, even after a good & continuing steep.. Not sure that one will ever get there... A 3rd bottle has the classic aroma (yet to be vaped, but I have faith in that one!), that the 2nd has been lacking

Has to be my 1st or 2nd favorite VCV fruit.. It's also the only one that I would consider slightly more "drying," as drinking natural grape juice is prone to making a person a little thirsty

Can you spare a topper for it? If so, load it up now, take maybe a dozen toots, and see..

If not to your liking, then throw it in the steep box, and sample it once a week or something

Some people here add fruit to their VCV tobaccos.. I've done that before with non-VCV brands, and worked out pretty well

Yeah, no born-on dates.. I write the receive date on mine now, considering I have months' worth of juice now

Not sure how this place got my email since I never ordered with them, but they sent me an email with a 25% discount code "HAPPYBIRTHDAY" (without quotes)

Figured I'd give it a shot.

Went with:

Night Shift
Monkey Business
Nutty Cookie

It must be meant to be! LOL

Wow 120? I wonder if I'll ever order one of those :)

It's been a favorite of mine lately and I figured I'd be better off with a large bottle than ordering a 30ml every week or two. Still though, I seem to be unlucky with large sizes...as soon as I get them, I usually get sick of the flavor  hopefully that won't happen here!

oh no not again...

my sour skittles still doesnt have much taste, but the taste it does have is cheap perfume. I don't get any fruit, and definitely no sour...

and does anyone else find that every single one of their flavors makes them very thirsty? Theres a weird dryness to them that I have not experienced before.

It doesn't have a very strong flavor Id agree but sometimes that's perfect for me. I can vape a lot and get sick of almost anything after an hour or two. I like to switch to it when I need a break from heavy, thicker flavors and it works great with my aerotank at 10-11 watts. To me it has a little sweet, a little tart and that's it. My preferred setup lately is one tank of VCV, usually Sour Skittles and then one PG/VG mix with a little more flavor. Swapping back and forth keeps me satisfied...although it is a little strange to get used to because when I was a smoker, I used to hate other brands.

The only 120's I've ordered so far are Unflavored..

Great alone & mixes well with anything.. Sort of hard to get sick of that... :D

But if I were to order one today, it would probably be Sour Skittles, Catherine the Grape or Ice Beard..

120 is a pretty big commitment!

I'm still only barely getting brief hints of blackberry/blueberry..

So earlier today I had my longest continuous vape session with Blue Beard..

Something weird? A few minutes after putting it down & not drinking/eating/vaping anything for a while, all I could taste was a moderate strength of blackberry..

Any other Blue vapers experience this?

Okay, few updates:

- Month-old Catherine the Grape (shipped early Feb) is very weak in flavor (smell & taste)... This bottle has always been this way from the start.. I even have another bottle of it received 3 weeks later, and that one smells a lot stronger like it's supposed to (haven't vaped it yet). They're both 30ml bottles, so it's not like the weak one needs more time to steep because it's larger or something... I'm guessing something happened where that batch just didn't have enough flavoring in it.. So for those who ordered around that time perhaps for the 1st time, saying that the flavor is too mild, I'm right there with you.. If that had been my 1st CtG, I'd be disappointed & wouldn't re-order it, either. I'm wondering if anything else from around that time was affected.. I still have 2 non-vaped bottles of other flavors from that same order, but those smell normal

- I recently duplicated the Candy Bar allergy experiment... I vaped 2ml's of it straight.. My eyes got red & itchy again.. I'm sure if I had continued it would have gotten even worse like last time. Was only a couple ml's left, so I trashed the rest

- I also recently tried White Beard for the 1st time in an iClear30 (as opposed to an iClear16 I was using)... The 30 always mutes flavors a little, but for some reason the WB tastes better in there.. The harsher WB throat-hit from the 16 is also toned down in the 30.. I've noticed the flavor thing with Ice Beard, as well.. so I'm wondering if all the VCV tobaccos just taste & perform better in the 30... will have to try my others in the future

Thanks for the earlier advice on the iclear16's, I bought 7 of them to try out. I have 2 of them currently going right now with some harvest berry and night shift. I like them...the vapor production is good at first but after vaping on them awhile they get pretty hot and the vapor production really seems to slow down. All the ones I purchased are 2.1ohm coils, what voltage are you using them on?

I like them...the vapor production is good at first but after vaping on them awhile they get pretty hot and the vapor production really seems to slow down. All the ones I purchased are 2.1ohm coils, what voltage are you using them on?

My (roughly) 2.1 ohms are vaped anywhere from 6 - 7.5 watts / 3.5 - 4 volts... depending on the juice/flavor, my mood & my nic needs at any given time

How do you mean "hot"? I know if I start cranking up the voltage and/or chain-vape for too long, the silver metal band below the mouthpiece can oftentimes get fairly warm (which is why I wish the mouthpiece were a little longer).. but that cools down pretty quickly by cutting back on the 2 things above

Not sure why you're experiencing loss of vapor production.. Does it happen when the juice is getting low? If so, do you make sure the wicks are saturated? Sometimes I leave mine on their side to help with that.. Sometimes I'll also hold them horizontally & slowly twirl them around a few times, letting the juice coat all the wicks from top to bottom... Is any juice/condensation collecting up near the mouthpiece? If so, unscrew the mouthpiece & let the stuff go back down

Not sure what else it could be, other than which PV are you using? If it's a lower-end one, I'm wondering if maybe as the battery drains it's not giving off as much power as it does with a fully-charged one -- and hence vapor levels fall off

Keep in mind that the iClear 16 is a dual-coil, which means it takes more power to operate to its full potential.. also with a relatively higher ohm (2.1), that, too, takes more power than a lower one (say, a 1.5 ohm)

Here's a pretty cool spreadsheet showing the relationship between ohms, volts, watts & amp draw...

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...xZLVd5aDkwUEJEZXc&f=true&noheader=false&gid=1

Finally... Not sure how long you've been using them, but maybe it's time for a rinse with warm water, then dry-burn & rinse again, like in that video? Night Shift will probably gunk it up a little quicker.. But if it's been 8 to 10 fills, it's definitely time... If not, is everything assembled tightly? Maybe the coil head (with wicks) isn't screwed tight enough to the base.. grab the knurled base (vertical grooves) & unscrew from the plastic tank part (w/no juice inside!), then grab the middle knurled part (bottom of head) & unscrew & then re-screw the head) and re-assemble again

Can be a little tricky to troubleshoot when you don't have it in front of you, but just throwing out a bunch of stuff off the top of my head

Might have to play around using any/all of the above suggestions.. but as you use a particular topper model more, you learn all its quirks & what-not, and adapt your vaping style, and troubleshooting & optimal peformance becomes 2nd nature

And if they're really new, like only 1 to 2 fills in, sometimes these things just take a couple fills before they start breaking in.. I don't recall with my 16's, but I remember my iClear 30's taking a couple fills & days before they started performing a lot better

Anyway, glad to hear you like them, otherwise.. You can get some surprisingly pretty sick vapor, flavor & throat-hits from these little buggers :D

P.S. I also vape at an angle.. not straight up & down, and not horizonally... more inbetween, maybe like a 45-degree angle? Helps with better wicking
