Im frustrated with the set up of this site, as a new member I cant seem to post anywhere 0_0 and after reading much of this forum I am still confused as to where to start in the world of ecigs. I know I want one that mimics a real cig so I can quit (similar to Blu disposibles but of considerable better quality) I started on those on a whim and found myself smoking less but not liking the taste of them as much as real tobacco.

Upon some online searching I found this site and found that flavor can be better than actual smoking and many seem to prefer it. Only I have no idea what most of you are talking about on here or where to begin.

Every company site i visit says "#1 top rated!" which is just down right insane, they can't ALL be top rated! One even listed what celebs use their brand, not sure why that would make me want to buy them but I guess its great to know Justin Timberlake vapes now lol

Then you go on about different number carts or automizers or cartomizers and manual or auto batteries. Or the drip method. Its downright confusing and I cant post in any thread to ask questions! URGH

I'll be simple I want something that hits like a real cig, has a flavor that doesnt taste like crap or leave a bad after taste like the disposable ones and wont cost me an arm and a leg. A good starting point into the world of vaping, a great easy way for a newbie to start vaping without alot of hassle. I can start filling my own juice and getting into all that hard core stuff later, after I quit smoking. One step at time here people.

I am looking V2cigs, prosmoke, and a cignot.com model I was reading about here, but that seems more advance as you have to fill your own juice and keep track of automizers and what not. I just want something i switch out to a new flavor with ease, and smoke like a regular cig til I kick the habit and get more into this. Something with a money back thing is always a plus too.

Thanks for listening to my rants and offering advice in advance ^_^

Volt is one of the highest recomended Pen style E-Cigs. Taste will be 100% subjective and relitive to the taster and juice vendor you baught it from. Id recomend ordering a sample pack of flavors. Flavors you think you will like you wont and flavors you never would have tried will be what dose it for you is my experiance. Manual batterys are much better. They are more durable and Allow more contoll over your hit. Cartomizers are much easyer to manage than An Atomizer setup (and cheaper too)

Hello and welcome. Yes, as a new member, you can only post here until you get 5 posts. The stickies up on this page offer a lot of info....
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ed-questions-about-electronic-cigarettes.html

Look at value4life.com.....they offer kits and they prefill the cartomizers so you don't have to mess with that yet....
also at top of page where the menu says supplier forum, you can click on it and get a view of the vendors registered here at ecf.....
Have a look and come back with questions....someone will always be here.....
hang on....we will help you thru this..

Wow you guys respond fast here :) So a caromizer is the kind that has everything built into it. I just change the "filter" end of the ecig and im all good? Whats the difference between 510 and 808 models. I hear good things about V2 but people complain its a 808 and not a 510 and then suggest cignot.com to get a 510 model. All very confusing.

I want ease of use and options combined. Good quality hit and different options for flavors ect.

Thanks again guys excited to kick this habit but not looking forward to sending back ecig after ecig trying to avoid being ripped off lol

Hi and welcome to ECF! Hang in there and you'll be an e-cigg genius in no time hehe.

The 5 post rule is in place to help prevent spam and keep ECF what it is, a great educational forum other's can rely on. In particularly ( just a guess here) helps to keep the forum clean for new people like yourself so the information you have is genuinely good. Once you have 5 posts, in about an hour you can post in any forum and sub forum you like.

Please, don't buy anything until you look around here! Many new member's end up buying a very overpriced kit before they find ECF. You should be able to get a good starter kit for under $50 dollars. If someone wants you charge you a fee per month, don't walk RUN away from such a company. Same goes for any company selling a device that looks like a cigarette for over 100$ Even 70$ is a bit much. Likley those " We are #1" company who all seem to look... oddly the same fit in the same category.

Rule of thumb, if it looks like a cigarette the battery performance will not be that great. An electronic cigarette that looks like the real thing most of the time will only last 2-3 hours. Something like a Riva or eGo should last about 7-9 hours, depending how much you use it.

It would be helpful for others to help you if you share how much you smoke. If you are a pack a day kinda person something like a Riva or eGo from Liberty-Flights.com would be a good cheap starter. Cheap after you've clicked the 20% off coupon in the left corner. A Riva light bundle is only 29.99 after shipping, about 3 bucks more.

Also, replicating the tobacco flavor can be hard. However, with so many flavors out there for juice you might end up finding you really enjoy something else. I don't care for tobacco flavors at all. Personally, I enjoy fruity like strawberry , pineapple, also sweets like toasted marshmallow and mint chocolate.

Dripping onto atomizers(the heating element of your e-cigg) and filling cartomizers with juice( an atomizer and cartridge combined) may seem like a hard-core stuff right now but they make life a lot easier and are simpler then they appear. I'm letting a cartomizer soak up some juice right now!

Don't be too hard on yourself! It's a whole lot of information to take it. Trying to see this as a fun hobby can help! Give yourself some time to soak up everything. We get it's information over-load. We've all been there!

Sorry if this is a bit long-winded, but I hope I've helped!

Since your fist starting our I suggest you go with a lower priced kit to start with. Check out the FLüX OnTheTown 510 kits on gotvapes.com. There about $20 for the kit. I used a kit similar to this when I started vaping about 2 years ago. Although it didnt really help me quit right away. The small e-cigs arent really enough for me. I still smoked analogs the whole time I had that little e-cig. I bought an eGo-t kit earlier this year, which is a little bigger and more powerful than the smaller kits, and that helped me out a lot and was finally able to quit. gotvapes also has a few eGo style kits if you want to start there. I keep mentioning gotvapes because I think they have the best e-liquid, which for me is a huge part of quitting smoking. For me their e-liquid Tobacco American tastes the most like a real cig and without that I wouldn't have been able to finally quit.

Hope this info helps. Good Luck!

Yeah, it can seem like a bunch of high falutin code talk when you first see this site.

If you want to educate yourself and get a better understanding of the basics I always recommend http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/36180-wonderful-world-vaping-illustrated-guide-e-cigs-part-1-6-a.html as this 6 part series was a great help to me when I started. A little dated, but the basics are there and it is an entertaining read.

A bunch of questions most folks new to all of this are addressed here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/68314-buying-using-electronic-cigarette-primer.html

If you want to see how the different models look, so you have an idea of what they may be like in your hand, then this thread is helpful http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/66629-updated-pictures-most-common-e-cig-models.html

Welcome to ECF and be sure to let folks know what your next questions are.

I would suggest bypassing the "Pen Style" e-cigs and go straight to a EGO with LR atomizers and drip tip. It's so much more satisfying. As for juice, there are many vendors that offer sample size bottles for a very good price. I wasted so much money buying 30 ml bottles, stick to sample sized until you find something you like.

Howdy new guy!

Here's a setup that I really enjoy. It's not very expensive and is super simple to use. Not to mention it give off great vapor and throat hit.

Step 1) Go to Electronic Cigarette - V4L Vapor4Life - Vapor King - best e-cig - smoking alternatives! (vapor 4 Life) and order two XL manual batteries (and you might want to go ahead and pick up a bottle of juice here. Or at least some sample packs of cartomizers to get an idea of taste. But you need at least A bottle of juice to get started). Also order a charger.

step2) Go to NHaler • Smoking Alternatives and order a pack of the G5 clearomizers (10 bucks). These things are filler-less cartomizers that you can see how much juice is left in. Very, very easy to use.

step 3) Vape your ... off!!

Seriously though, if you do go this route and have any questions just shoot me a PM. Good luck and welcome to ECF!!

Ohh right all that info would help lol I am not a heavy smoker, I managed to cut back quite a bit on my own. Not the hardcore will power machine my father is (he quit cold turkey after smoking for 20+ years and having a heart attack) A pack last me 2 to 3 days on average, depending on stress level. I like the look and feel of the Blu disposable but wish it had more options, more vaper, and better hit.

right now I have several pages pulled up and looking at these but cant come to a conclusion.

pages are

Joye 510
V2cig
Prosmoke
Volt (as mentioned above)
Liberty Flights
Got Vapes

Just dont want to buy something I will be dispointed with and end up sending back

If your willing to go slightly bigger than pen style the Riva 510 Kit from liberty flights is one of the top recomendations too. Battery life is much better and with Boge 2.0 Cartomizers on it it hits very satisfying. the Price is 37$ for the lite kit and if you hit 20% off in the top corner you get it even cheaper. a 5 pack of the cartomizers is 7$

Welcome to ECF.
510 and 808 are different connectors- most use the 510's.
My suggestions would be:
1/ buy from a vendor that is listed here at ECF. ECF members have no problem about calling them out on shoddy service and/ or products. There is also a code of ethics vendors must abide by to remain listed here.
2/ When you decide to buy you will find some vendors offer discount codes- anywhere from 10- 20% discount. After you've made your choice post back here and members may be able to direct you to the best price for what you want.
3/ Riva and Ego are great starter kits BUT be absolutely sure they are not clones- buy from a reputable site.
4/ Cartomizers are great. Can be refilled and will generally last about 1-2 weeks. Boges are quality cartos. Many use atomizers to test their juices. Batteries: 100 mah= 1 hour hour vaping before having to recharge.
5/ Make absolute sure you have EVERYTHING you need before ordering- worse than the extra shipping charge is the wait.
Good Luck, Vapoor.

Yes, I am still new and the "code" talk is overwhelming early-on. My first kit (and I still love it) is the Volt. The site at SmokelessImage does not tell you this, but it is the KR808D-1 "style", usually referred to as "808". This is the most "Cigarette like" style and thus very appealing as a starter e-cig. The 808 means that any 808 parts (really just the battery and the cartamizer) are interchangeable. You want the volts\amp and atty (the atomizer that is built into the cart), to "Match up" well, and buying all your stuff from Smokeless Image makes this all REALLY easy.

HOWEVER, there is no reason to limit yourself to a small battery. There are a myriad of options available, and I can promise you that all questions asked here will get answered by somebody who has been right where you are right now.

After my chaotic introduction to vaping, I wrote this about my experience. When I wrote it, I had no idea how universal my experience was. Welcome to ECF!

Completely understand. Getting started is a bit of a pain. We've all been there. Whatever you decide on, don't be scared to get a fairly strong nicotine level on your juice (24mg is probably a good starting point imo). It can really help out on tough days when you feel that your ecig just isn't cutting it. Maybe get a 12 or 18 as your normal vape since you're not a heavy smoker and fall back on the 24 when you need that kick. There is nothing wrong with any of the vendors\devices you have in your list. The reason I mentioned what I did is that it's extremely simple and fairly cheap. I, like many others that have chimed in have been at this for a while lol. It took me a while to figure out what was going to cut it for me. So it really boils down to what you'll end up liking and having success with.
