Very Frustrated, could really use some recommendations...

Well guys, thanks a lot. I ended up doing what I didn't want to. Or did I?
Ended up ordering the ego One kit. Also ordered a nano tank since it fits perfect on it....

Couldn't find the subtank mini or the istick30 anywhere in stock online.............So, ended up going with my girl and a buddy to the vape shop by me, and somehow ended up buying the istick30 and subtank mini from them. My buddy and my girl got the same setups. Funny, my girl went through a whole tank of juice in like 2 or 3 hours. I am going easy though because I think I am coming down with the flu, and don't wanna push it. I am very happy with it though.

So, started out not wanting to spend more than like 60 bucks. Now, I got the subtank mini and stick, and the nano and ego one full kit coming in the mail.....I knew this was gonna get expensive quick lol. I do love this thing a lot though. Seems real nice, even with the .5 coil which I didn't think I would like. And, my buddy and my girl absolutely love theirs too. So, I'm sure I will have some more questions in time, but I wanna thank you guys again for all the help. I appreciate you guys having patience with me and all my questions. Now I gotta try the 1.2 ohm coil to see how it is, and get me some good juice. The juice that the shop had all really tasted horrible, and kinda like a cough medicine taste. Gonna check out some other places today that have juice. Hopefully I will find something real nice. Funny, after just vaping last night and today with this thing, I find myself already passing on my cigarettes every 10 min. I mean, I am still smoking them, but already I am able to pass up on them here and there, which is pretty great for me. I think this may work for me in time to get off the stinkys.

Enough rambling. Thanks again guys! Going to research some good juices and recipes, see what everyone else loves....

So far, I have been only using the .5 coil. Seems pretty nice, still a bit harsh on my throat. Funny, when I lower the voltage it seems even harsher. Right now I got it a 25 watts. If i try out the 1.2 coil, should I change the watts up or down? Just wanna make sure I don't fry something, ya know? And, with the .5 coil, does 25w sound about right? I assume right now, whatever it says on the coil (20-30w), I should be ok within those wattages? Thanks guys!!! Just ordered a whole bunch of juices from Johnson Creek, since I liked those before. Gotta still read up on favorite juices and all, and try some others. I like the more smokey flavors, not so big on the crazy fruit flavors or dessert flavors it seems so far. Hey, but that might change as I get used to this thing. Glad to be already cutting back a bit on the smokes, I actually prefer the vape taste and now realize just how crappy the cigs really taste......and smell.

I don't have a Subtank, however the coil (two 1.2 ohm coils wrapped together) I'm currently vaping on reads 0.59 ohms on my rDNA. At 12.5 watts it's actually a very pleasant vape, it seems odd to me that the 0.5 coil would be harsher at a lower voltage but as I said I don't have a Subtank.

Anywhere from 18-25w is where I vape my .5 coil on my subtank. Congrats on your purchase, though it does suck you had to pay more at the shop!

And I don't think it should be more harsh at lower volts/watts. The wattage is how much power is being delivered to the coil (I think). So the higher the wattage the faster the coil heats up and vaporizes the juice.

When using high VG mixes in the subtank make sure you don't chain vape. I've gotten several burnt hits and have had to adjust my vaping to avoid
the nasty burnt cotton taste and allow time for the liquid to wick properly. I switched to the RBA instead of the coil and have had better luck avoiding
the "dry" hit but i will still get one if I vape too fast.

Congrats again and I hope it works out well for you!

Hi, I have the SUB/istick50w and I have been rebuilding coils for my other tank but wanted to build the RBA now. What watts would you suggest my friend? Thank you!

Watts or ohms as in coil resistance? What power you use is based on your coil resistance (ohms) your PG/VG of your juice and your personal preference. I'm using the RBA at .5 ohms 18-25 watts with a 5/95 PG/VG blend.

I don't really have the knowledge to give you specifics, just excerpts from my own experiences.

Hope everything works out OP, keep us updated.

First, congrats on your new purchases! I think you have a couple nice setups that you'll be very happy with.

About the different coils, I typically vape around 20 watts depending on the juice with .5 ohm coils. With the 1.2 OCC that comes with the sub tanks I've found I'm happy around 11 or 12 watts. That's all personal preference though. The general wisdom on such matters is to start low and slowly increase the power until you find a setting you're happy with.

Great. Thanks again guys. Still didn't get a chance to try the 1.2 coil, gonna give it a go today. I caught the damn flu, and haven't even been able to play with my new toys....Feeling better today though, and also just saw the Ego One came today in the mail so gotta see what thats all about. You guys rock, will update soon when I get a chance to really find what I like with these.

Hey, Jasum you said for the 1.2 coil you like 11 or 12 watts? On my 1.2 coil it says 12-25w. Is it bad to go outside these numbers? to like, lets say 11 watts? Just really curious.

Love my nautilus mini. I was in the same boat as you. Thought box mods were stupid looking. I dropped the vaping thing for a while after sinking dollar after dollar into egos and the like.

When I started again I went out and bought the istick 30 with the nautilus mini and it's everything I ever wanted. It's fabulous.

It is a box mod but it is a very small one so it isn't as goofy looking. Give it a shot. You'll like it. Your story sounds just like mine.

EDIT: Only read page one. Hope the Ego works for you!!

Those are more guidelines than rules... I've never had issues going lower than the recommendations, but be careful going above them. Not saying you can't go above them in some cases, but small careful steps.

Going below 12 might not be satisfying for most people as you get less vapor, but that's where I like it. It's all personal preference.
