Made up my first TFA menthol experiment and after a few days steep I like it.
First couple days had an odd exhale, but now its good.
Not sure what the last 2 ingredients bring to the party, you could probably omit.

tfa peppermint 2%
tfa menthol 1%
tfa koolada 1%
tfa creme de menthe 2%
tfa vanillin 1%
tfa sweetener 1%

@penstyle That one looks pretty good, any more info since steeping further? I bet the Vanillin has brought the Pink to the party by now! I personally have been laying off the Koolada lately using Peppermint instead and I seriously think that Sucralose based sweeteners might make my ears ring. :?: I am sensitive to tastes and smells though (I am one of those that can smell the high fruit note in TFA Smooth... and I'm sensitive to MSG...)

I have never tried the TFA Creme de Menth though, seems like it could be a magic ingredient for Menthol! Did it take any of the roughness/harshness out of it that you can tell?

I am just about to mix up a new juice to try now I have tried a few flavours on their own.

I am mixing at 70/30 pg/vg @11mg nicotine.
Cool Mint 7%
Menthol 3%

It will need to steep for about 2 weeks for the flavours to develop as I have found from mixing them up individually.

Keep us posted. I'm still looking for that one recipe but time hasn't permitted me to do any DIY. (5 year old around all the time and I won't mix when he's here....)

I originally mixed the cool mint up at 6% on its own. It didn't taste much good straight away. Then, after a couple of weeks I went back to it and its amazing how the flavour had developed! It was good but just a little short so thats why I have gone to 7%.

Best not to mix whilst children are around I agree. My daughter has just gone back to her mums so all is safe :)

I vaped that up quick and and since tweaked it some. The vanillin and sweetener was an effort to smooth it out. The creme de menthe is good on its own and I think gives it some body. The menthol is a little less now and cut way back on the sucralose. Better in my opinion. I don't find it harsh but not much to compare it to.
Have some tfa mint candy mixed but have not tried yet.

tfa peppermint 2%
tfa menthol .5%
tfa koolada 1%
tfa creme de menthe 2%
tfa vanillin 1%
tfa sweetener .25%

I have been vaping this quite alot now. It has become my all day vape.
I went back and vaped some menthol sensation and I much prefer what I have made now. It seemed as though the menthol sensation tasted chemically to me now.
Quite impressed I have got the flavour virtually there with only a few attempts :)
I am going to need to mix up some larger batches now so I don't run out lol

Try the recipe and let me know what you think bud.

Thanks Surfdude,

I don't have any cool mint, I'll order some up when I can and give it a try. I'm very happy for you that you came up with something that is even better than menthol sensation! And thank for keeping us updated! I follow the threads I make so even months from now I'm still here. I'll keep you posted on my results once I get the cool mint.

This may sound a bit on the boring side but it works for me..

Make a 10% Menthol solution like so: 10 ML of PG per gram of Menthol Crystals (Mentha Arvensis USP). Shake till disolved (a little heat even from a desk lamp will speed it up)

Mix it at 5% for starters...shake, rattle and roll till evenly mixed..vape away.

7.5% seems to hit the number for me. I alternate between pure unflavored 25/75 (12% nic) and a 25/75 menthol and I'm good to go.

Not fancy I know but does the job for me!

Made a couple Menthol 66% batches @ 0.6% concentrations:

One with 0.5% TFA Vanillin 10% and 2% TFA Whipped Cream - Not bad but not too great, not really what I'm going for in taste or texture, vapable but not really that enjoyable...

Another with 0.5% TFA Vanilla Swirl - Very Harsh and not too good at all! I have since found the MSDS sheet and the Vanilla Swirl has equal to or greater than 10% Vanillin and equal to or greater than 10% Ethyl Vanillin. I suspect the EV is the culprit as I have tossed harsh batches in previous tries using it.

Back to the Lab.
