I know; I'm a day(s) late and a dollar short for this, but.....Josh loved all the army dude pix - he thought they were very neat..... my next project - we're going to take the pix and make an entire story about them - the army dude's advenures.
Make a little scrapbook on it, the whole nine yards.....
At our kids' school, as part of the social studies/map reading lab, they read the book "Flat Stanley". Based on that, the kids make a body about the size of an adults hand, and paste their picture on the body. Then, they sent "Flat Child" to someone, preferably away from our state. The person/family do exactly what we are talking about doing with Army Dudy, then after about 3 weeks, send everything back into the class. It's really neat to see the map in the hallway get filled up with the items & where they came from. In most cases, the 'Flats' arrive back with postcards, a letter & some pictures of "Flat" around town.
With my oldest, we sent it to my sister's in WA. She sent back a one page letter, and a pic with "Flat" on the deck with the kids, in the snow (well, snow were they live was exciting LOL). This year, for my youngest child, we sent it to a friend in Ontario, Canada. Friend is crafty and I thought she'd be perfect to send back some really cute pics. OMG! This girl had never done scrapbooking before and thought this would be a fun time to learn. The scrap book she sent back was amazing and there was a little bit of everything in this book. It still sits on my coffee table, it's so cool.
After seeing that, I'm sad that I live too close to Army Dude to really add to it; Maybe after everyone who's playing returns their items, I can sneak a peek at the goodies and Army Dudes CO will give me a chance to play too
......Spokane Airport. That would be a blast for all of us to see each other's houses and haunts. ........
.....Tell Josh to pack Army Dudes bags.![]()
I noticed your town, Jo, and the mention of the Spokane Airport. How far are you from St. Maries?
Aww...wouldn't that be cute if he arrived with a little Army duffle over his shoulder?? LOL
