Lol, thanks.
I just don't want people to fall victim to marketing gimmicks by OEMs and resellers. That even includes GG and their resellers -- if I hear something that doesn't make scientific sense accurately, I'd even call @imeothanasis out on it!
I was a smoker for 20 years. US$7500 habit. Now I am in full control of what pleases me. The problem is, kanthal is scary stuff, and having no control over the temperature my vapor is produced at might be even scarier. Molecular compounds change under heat -- having control of the temperature and the heat generated is a step in the correct direction.
But just because a company uses a "temperature control" label, it might just be a marketing gimmick. I don't want gimmicks. I don't want less control or halfway control, I want full control of my vaping experience.
I think VIR version 1 is a big step in the right direction and I am very excited for it. I also have a ton of ideas for future VIR versions that I think will only enhance the vape experience (tailored to the end user), create options for safety, and give me more control over what I want to put in my body.
Even if you aren't a GG geek (GGG?) and your loyalty is to your wallet, buying a Proteus sooner rather than later will reward Imeo for his hard work and convince him to work hard on future technology. I hate patents, I refuse to use them myself, but I am thankful for Evolv's idiotic VW patent (really moronic, to be honest) because it pushed Imeo to throw out the old Proteus work he did for 2+ years and reimagine it as the first VIR mode device.
I know I will love VIR. I am sure there will be shortcomings and new processes to learn and some surprises, but I am committed to putting it through the paces and supporting a small vendor and engineer who really does seem to care about not just safety of the end user, but tailored control for the individual vape enthusiast.
And those things matter to me more than a fancy OLED display.
