Hi everyone! New member here not entirely new to vaping but just received a setup from my kids and thought I would post my experience.
I am using the mini vivi nova (tried all 3 heads) on an Ego-C Twist as my main battery and also have the Ego-T Upgrade as a smaller backup. The novas are really nice and easy to use and clean, but I was having issues vaping. I would have to twist it to try to help the wick do its job by letting gravity bring the juice into the head and could not increase the wattage too high or it would cause dry hits or start to burn. Or more exactly, it was more like a combination of the two.
The experience was similar across all three heads (1.8, 2.4 and 2.8 ohm) so I even tried cleaning them, including dry firing (which I believe to be unnecessary unless its been used heavily/has gunk built up) and ended up using the 2.8 ohm head because of the fact it has a larger wick and figured the higher ohms would be less chance of getting too much wattage.
So what I did was to remove one of the silicone caps from the other heads and cut very small "v" shaped notches on each side right where the wicks are. I made them small as possible to minimize flooding/losing juice unnecessarily. This has helped enormously. I can now chain vape as much as I like without any burning or dry hits.
This is my first setup and I just got it yesterday and glad I heard of other users doing similar things to get them going. My only other experience has been with the gas station NJoys then went to a NicStick, neither was that pleasant of an experience. I just ordered more juice, the adapter sleeve and a Kanger T2 from Mt Baker Vapors with free shipping. Coupon code freeshipping.
Smoked my last analog earlier today and have no urge for any more. Best birthday gift ever!
Update:
For those thinking of cutting these silicone caps, proceed with caution. While my cuts were shallow enough to still sit on top of the thicker wicks on my 2.8 ohm heads, the smaller wicks on the other two allow flooding of the head with these cuts while is is laying on its side. Do not cut all your caps and only make them small as possible on the thinner wicks. You can twist the caps where the cuts do not line up with the wicks if you run into problems.
