Hi All,
new to the forum. Should've posted this somewhere else, but seems I'm restricted to this part for now(I'm a pretty expirienced vaper, so if any admin could "upgrade" me to full access, that would be nice).

Now to the deliberation in question: I'm ready to try out VV(long overdue). Considered the iTaste and others, but at this point I stand between the Spinner and the newer type eGo VV PT, like the Apollo one(or any of the clones).

Has anyone tried both of them? Which feels better? Do I really need the last 1.2Volts? The Apollo-style seems a bit cheap build from some videos and pics, while the Spinner appears pretty sturdy to me.

Any and all opinions welcome :)

my spinner died on me in less than a week. I didnt even use it much. I preferred the twist.
I'm curious...did you contact your vendor and see if they will do something? They should last longer than that. Btw I don't know how companies handle things like that, but it seems like a reputable company would send you another unit as it seems like it was defective.

I got it from smoktek. I RMA'd it. They seem to be handling it. We will see how that goes. They did respond and give me the rma very fast though.

Oh thats good. I imagine since these are made in China by the truck load, that some are going to fail. Glad to hear they are takin care of it. I actually have a Spinner in my cart at a different place, so I have a backup, and hopefully recommend to friends when they are ready to upgrade off their cig styles.

They usually do, this is the best place to get answers to your questions.

Honestly I have only used the ego vv and it is great. I have also heard great things about the spinners, I just haven't gotten to try one yet.

Sorry I can't be much help :)
Thanks for the good info :) You say you've used the ego VV, do you mean the newer type(like the Apollo) with 3.0-6.0, or one of the older types with 3 preset voltages?

I own the Kgo VV 650, Twist 650 and 1000, Spinner 1300.

Twist VV comes in 650 or 1000 mah. Fires from 3.3 to 4.8 volts.
Pros- long battery life.
Cons- voltage adjustment is a narrow smooth dial on the end of battery, hard to adjust and numbers hard to see/ invisible.

Kgo VV only comes in 650 mah. Fires from 3 to 6 volts.
Pros- LED screen that shows voltage and battery life. Also buttons to adjust voltage.
Cons- not as much battery life as Twist. Button hard to find and takes time getting used to. Button cover/ band beginning to wear out. (Vendor sent two new button bands)

Love my Spinners- 1300 same size as Twist 1000. Wide knurled dial/ easy to turn. Voltage markings easy to read. I've only owned it for a day but have a friend that's had one for over a week. It addresses all the issues I had with the Twist but time will tell.

I might buy a VV pass through if it was a larger batt- my Kgo VV 650 would drain too quick because I was vaping at 4- 4.5 volts.

You're welcome. I own a Megalodon which fires at 3.7 volts BUT if I stack batts I can vape at 6 volts- found the vape to be too much. The sweet spot for most vapers is around 4.5 volts. I really enjoy it around 4.2-4.5. 4.8 is not my cup of tea. It's also a matter of matching up the right delivery system (carto, clearo) ohms to the device. I get an AMAZING vape at 3.7 volts on a Smok Tech 1.7 single coil carto...of course it's not the same as a 4.5 volt vape but it comes pretty close. Overall some vapers can appreciate a higher voltage where others, like myself, find it too much. I read here of many buying a Mini VV and then saying their fave vape is around 3.7...why would they not just buy a regular Kgo

Thanks for your reply!
Tell me, do ever you feel you need the 1.2 extra volts? Or is 4.8 always high enough?

I have a twist and the vv ego from Apollo and I would choose the Spinner. It is 1300 mah, voltage is easier to read than the Twist and it isn't as long as the Twist and VV ego. I don't use the higher voltage on the vv ego at all. I seldom go over 4.2 volts.
There is a new one called the Rider Robust that will be out soon that has a replaceable battery. You will also be able to read ohms with it.

I have used both the Apollo and the Twist and the Spinner. I had to return the Apollo because the fire button is very difficult to find and the marked voltages did not seem to be correct (either higher than marked or lower). They were very cooperative about it. The Twist's voltage numbers are difficult to see with a magnifying glass and the end is very skinny and difficult to turn. I kept them as backups. The Spinner is my choice atm. The knurled wheel at the bottom turns easily, the voltage numbers are easily read and it vapes up to 4.8 volts. I mostly DIY ejuice at lower strengths and don't feel the need to fog up an entire room to prove what an awesome setup I have so the Spinner, a Vivi tank and my own ejuice are just what I want.

as for the question, outright I would prefer the eGo vv, as it is a pass through and because it offers a wider voltage range than the spinner/twist batteries...I can't attest to either device hands on...but my eGo vv has been ordered for its pt capabilities, and I was a twist owner before the spinner came about...as far as that goes, the twist itself is a nice intro to vv, and I've recently begun to hear good things about the spinner...my personal thoughts aside though,I don't think you can go wrong either way...just thinking about the pt though, you don't have to worry as much about carrying a second battery (although I probably would anyways) and if course, the wider range of voltages available to you...the only other thing I could possibly suggest with all of those statements...is buy one of each, and see how you like them yourself.

Great inputs!

Is there anyone that ever feel 4.8V is not enough? What are the advantages of going 5+, is it only more vapor and more TH? I do like my vapor warm, and I'm guessing more V=warmer coil?
But if an LR-carto at 4.0 gives the same warmth as a SR-carto at 5.0, then it's not an issue really..

Actually the "VV" is abbreviation for Variable Voltage. 4.8v is quite high enough for me and then some. Depending on the resistance of the coil head you can achieve enough heat to fry an egg. Not really but you get my drift.
