Interestingly, this is a post I made a couple of days ago on the FastTech thread:
Thinking of our recent conversations re the Kanger V2 coils having both two small holes on the side and a single elongated one, it's interesting to read two somewhat conflicting reviews of the on the UKecigstore site.
The first review isn't a good one, and it's followed by two posted on 20.8.14:
After quite a bit of confusion with staff when I bought my replacement heads, I did some research and here is a low-down on these dual coils:
The atomiser head pictured is a Version 2.2 with the single slot on both sides but unless you buy the 2.0 ohm head you will get the Version 2.1 with two holes on each side.
Version 1: Has short wicks sticking out of the holes.
Version 2.1: Wicks not visible. 2 holes on either side.
Version 2.2: Wicks not visible. 1 covered slot on either side.
The reason Kanger revised V2.1 was because the loose flavour wicks inside the head can poke out of the holes. This doesnt happen with the V2.2 heads as there is material covering the slots. If you purchase a MOW tank it comes with a V2.2 1.5 ohm head that has single slots on either side. After mine died I tried to buy a replacement pack of the same heads but was given the 2.1 version with 2 holes either side. And yes, I noticed on refilling that the wicks tend to come out of the holes.
Store staff assured me that only the 2.0 ohm heads came with the slots on either side (despite the 1.5 ohm head in the MOW tank having slots too). Having done my research, I now interpret this to mean that the only V2.2 heads in stock at the moment are 2.0 ohms. The rest are all V2.1.
Other than that, the V2.1 heads work very well albeit with a short life span of about 4-5 days before performance drops. Plus its very difficult to open up the head for cleaning, unlike previous Kanger heads.
So 3 stars for now and lets hope that future stock of these heads will be all be V2.2 with single slots on each side, as these are the best ones to use. Then I may give 4 stars!

And then this one:
These ones have 2 holes on top of each other on each side so 4 holes in total compared with one slightly bigger hole on each side on the older version and the ones with the double holes work much better for taste and flavour ive found, Its a night and day difference for me. Very pleased with this product, thanks.

So, impossible to be 100% sure which is supposedly the newer version. Whichever it is, I'm pretty sure that the single hole ones work/last better. I tend not to take too much notice how long once I've used something new for a while, but I do notice those that leak or need replacing too soon.
I got another eMOW IP Blue tank from MyePack last week, and unlike my earlier ones, this came with the two holes version coil fitted!
Seeing UKecigstore has the V2 coils on offer at £5/5, I've ordered some of the 2.0ohm to see what arrives!
With Aspire and the BVC coils, there's a new 1.5ml glass mini 'K1' tank coming soon to both the above mentioned suppliers (Myepack will be cheaper if they keep the advertised upcoming price).
Looking at the MyEpack image, the BVC coil looks to be the 'other' version (not for the Nautilus mini). Disappointing as I'd prefer to only need to keep one type. Seeing that, I'm thinking twice about getting the new K1 Aspire K1 Glassomiser - Clearomizers
Between them, these two manufacturers are keeping people on their toes where coils are concerned.
Also, I still see no BVC coils on the FastTech site.
Today, I checked my 'stock' of the V2 coils, and found a pack of 2.0ohn ...sure enough, they had the elongated slot rather than two holes! Still don't know which is the most up to date version though!
