Hey guys, just wondering how long these things typically last (lifetime, not in between charges). I have 2 1300mah Spinners and was just curious how long (months, years?) before these things 'crap out' on me. On a related note, can you take these apart and replace the batteries? I received a dud from a bad vendor and am willing to experiment with taking it apart and fiddling with replacing the battery. Has this been done before?

I have two that are just over a year old....these came from my #1 vendor for Original Joye equipment. And 2 that only lasted around 5 months. Those were from good vendors, but believed to be "generic". As far as servicing them, I don't believe that is possible, nor safe. But, I am not a modder..so take that for what its worth ;)

Thanks for the response. When you say 'generic', do you mean not made by Vision? The two that I have are Vision products (printed on it), so I hope I have the year+ ones lol.

Really wish the battery in there was replaceable. The vendor I ordered from completely shafted me after giving me the dud, but I can tell it's an authentic Vision one. My suspicion is that the fire button is the real issue here, because it wasn't giving me a satisfying 'click' when I tried turning it on and eventually kinda 'fell into' the device. Charging it was no use either. I just feel it's a waste of potential, really wish a modder would have some advice/experience regarding this.

Seems like there's a thread on the Spinner button.

I saw one video on taking it apart. He rocked the battery connection end back and forth, repeatedly and slowly, as there are wires attached inside. You DON'T want to break those

That's as far as that vid went, and I've never had issues with mine, and have no desire to just look..

Let us know what kind of battery you find inside, and if it's at all replaceable, good info to have.

I saw a video somewhere that the guy took the batts apart from a genuine ego and a knockoff spinner type Ecig and the batts were exactly the same. But of course it ruined the devices. Those batts aren't made to be taken apart, from what I've seen. Maybe there's a difference in quality control on the button switches though.

By "generic", I mean I know its a "knock-off",very light..and the price, and the fact the vendor said so up front. But ay...does the job, just not as long.

As for modding or replacing batts. I believe its just not worth it to modders to bother. They are busy building badd ... mods ;)

As DavidOck mentioned you can gently rock the control head out of the tube. I had to reseat a button on my JT Twist 650mah after dropping it. Ended up being a bit too rough and broke one of the wire connections, so had to resolder it.

You can take it off and see if you can't get the button back into the proper spot. Its a touch tricky, but not that difficult.

But when I was in there, I saw no way to remove the battery. Wasn't willing to try though. I'm guessing they use a custom made battery cell instead of a generic size (14500 or something).
