Maybe my comment won't be really usefull, but I ordered a Vivi nova because I've heard from some people that top coils are better for the taste, I haven't used them yet so I can't tell you if that's true. The problem with top coils is that when you're running out of liquid you may need to tilt your tank a little bit so that the liquid gets inside easier.

Welcome to ECF!

I've used both and prefer the Kanger (hides for cover)

They both work well, though. I prefer the Kanger but that's my preference.

Vivi Nova does a good job however, and is easy to use and gives a good hit.

I'd say either would be a "good" option, the rest is down to you. Lot's of threads about "bad" Kangers though, leaking, gurgling, etc. Not so many about the Vivi Nova Mini, so read into that what you will.

Hope whatever you pluck for works for you though

:)

The top coils to require a little "tilting" to keep the wicks wet, something you don't have to do with the bottom coils. Saying that, I find I can run my liquid lower in a top coil tilting the last of the liquid around. In the Kanger once it's low I start to get dry hits just because the liquid doesn't cover the bottom of the tank when I vape.

Depends how you vape, too, I guess. I hold mine almost horizontal when vaping a full tank, I adjust and lower when the liquid is running low on a bottom coil

i havent tried the vivi, but i love my kanger so far.

i did get some gurgle. but after seeing why, i have adjusted my vaping position and it seems to have solved it.

i simply tip the tank down, so the battery points upwards a little while taking a hit from it.

if i point the battery straight down, or close to, i find it will wick a bit too much and start leaking a little into the tip on occasion. seems to be hit and miss when vaping like that. sometimes i can go through a tank with it pointing down and not have a gurgle.. other times its the first haul.

either way, just to avoid it i just hold it slightly tilted up.

however, if you do get the gurgle, its pretty easy to just jab a q-tip in there to solve the problem quickly.

might be a bit more of a pain in the .... than some people prefer, but its my only negative thing to say about it.

Only other thing I'll chime in with is the Kanger coils are pretty easy to rebuild, should the need grab you down the line. Not so sure about that on the Vivi.

I don't rebuild, but the option to do it easily is appealing.

I think you will find both are decent (hopefully) but as you are leaning towards the Vivi then I think it's a good choice. Let us know how you get on once you decide and have given them a spin :)

Vivi nova's are easy to rebuild, should the OP go there. And replacement coils are cheap too

Nova is easy to rebuild....much less hassle than Protank etc. (Got to get the right wick though)

I honestly thought nobody used them anymore.... I gave all mine away to old school vapers. ???

Defo not going back to Novas...

Nova replacement heads are one of the products most likely to get marked up to "silly price" in the UK.

I always bought packs of 5 and then used the discount code, getting me 5 for £9 from Vape Escape. 1.8 of course.

Using Vivi Nova ever since they were released and like them. As for wicking issues not a big deal. I now rebuild my Vivi's with cotton and the wicking is excellent. If buying the Vivi make absolutely sure you buy the Vision brand- many have reported issues with the clones. Whether or not you immediately decide to rebuild don't toss the old heads. Here's an excellent very detailed Vid- covers everything.

I have two glass Vision Vivi Novas (called V-Fate) and they never leak, gurgle or flood. Well, liquid does accumulate in the top catch-cup, but not outside the device or on the battery so its not a problem except a little bit of wasted liquid. The single coil Nova heads have true flavor but it's very light. I recommend getting the dual coil heads for more flavor. Tilting often to saturate the wicks is something that you have to accept with top-coil devices. The effort is worth it to me because of their trouble-free performance.

If you ever want to do it, rebuilding them isn't that difficult. Time-consuming and potentially tedious, requiring effort, but worth it for me because my rebuilt V-Fates are my best devices. Better than my Protanks.

Protanks are good when you get a good coil and the stars align.

Verdict: Get one of each. A Mini Protank II (don't get the regular Protank II) and one V-Fate.
