Just received my SS316 #400 mesh and made an U-shaped wick by rolling ~1"X2" around a paperclip. With some trial and error, I managed to get raid of the metallic taste (didn't oxidize enough), but now the problem is mutated flavors despite taking slow/long drags (made Halo Tiki taste like light cinnamon). I used to use cotton to replace the wick on my ViviNova heads and love the FTV, but I usually get burnt flavors after a few day of normal usage so I decided to give SS a try. So, is there anyone who's experienced with SS on a ViviNova have a solution to solve the muted flavor issue? TIA

Cedric, i had the same problem. I did a 7/8 wrap with 32g kanthal, yielding 3 ohms. at 5.5 volts, it gave me TONS of great thick vapor but oddly no flavor. I thought maybe it takes a while to "break in" but sadly, after half a tank, no flavor. Then I decided to take a tip from using my genesis style atties (which the VVN is essentially is, just horizontal coil instead of a vertical one). So, using a twisted 32g kanthal (used twice my normal length, folded in the middle, and twisted nice and tight), I made a 3/4 coil. It gave me 1.3 ohms, which is just enough to not trip the protection on my gripper, LT, ego twist, etc. I vaped it at around 3.5-4.0 volts. Voila! Deep rich thick vapor, tons of flavor I was missing, and as long as your wick can keep up, no dry hits. The only drawback is that now it uses liquid like crazy. Hope that helps. cheers.

any pics i'm not sure I'm understanding. Did you just double the wire or did you actually make it a vertical coil somehow?

welcome to my issues with mesh... i found that on my novas... cheesecloth is king... and in my aga-t's... i use the mesh for wicking only and take some threads out of the cheesecloth and wrap them around the top (tight at 1st then loose a couple times around)... that makes it to where the coil has a nice cushy bed to sit in... seems that when more surface area of the coil is covered in juice the better the flavor is (to me)... YMMV of course...
