Hi guys,

I just saw on the V4L website that apparently they are disscontinueing the short batteries.

Is there any indication as to how long they will be available for and if there will be a replacement product?
I have just purchased my first e-cig and i like the short batteries due to them being close to the size and feel of an anologue so im going to be very dissapointed if i cannot get replacements for these.

If there is anyone that can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

I thought you might have gone there;) All those in the bargain bin are old stock. If you go under Vapor King batteries, you will find the new ones at the bottom of the page. Don't sweat hon...they ain't goin anywhere:laugh:

Now with that said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the batts in the bargain bin...I have several of them and love them just as much! The manuals that are in there have the old rubber button. Those were phased out to the bargain bin when the newer smaller gold buttons came on board;) Not sure exactly what the difference is in the autos....I don't notice a difference to be honest.

Well that is true, but I can attest that all kr808d-1's are not the same.....kinda like ice cream....they all aren't haagen das:D I have found that those that specialize in a specific model carry the best of the best.....just like all areas of life...when stretched too thin, the attention to detail falls through the cracks and you end up with sub-par results....main reason Alpine doesn't make phones and tv's....they perfected stereo's....primarily car stereos and they are one of the absolute best out there.

@ keelalagirl55 how different can they be? i mean a KR808D-1 is a KR808D-1 no matter where you get it right? so no matter where i got the carts from, if they are for a KR808D-1 then they should fit any KR808D-1 right?
the ones i found were the Nebula from vapornine.com the Maxx Fusion from Bloog and the smoklessimage.com model
they all seem to be fairly reputable so I thought it would be safe to assume that they build qualities were at least decent. but now im wondering if they will fit the carts i already have from v4l??

@ Morandir835 i dont see why the hardware wouldnt be as good, if not close. as for customer service, im not sure what your talking about. i have found v4l's customer service to be non existant. i have already raised this issue in another post about v4l not replying to emails and tickets. infact, i finally got a reply from v4l after 8 DAYS with a whole bunch of information that was no relevance to what i had requested. it looked like they had read the first line of the email and then just copied and pasted a whole bunch of info. turns out none of the info they sent me had anything to do with the questions i had asked them.
so to me, i havent seen any customer service from v4l at all, plus you add that with their insanly high shipping costs and i just dont see much reason to purchase from them at all.
the only reason i bother to still look at their website is because they seem to be the only people selling decent pre-filled carts, but as soon as i can find somone else with pre-filled carts i doubt i will go back to v4l

hmmm...i have had nothing but excellent cs from v4l...replaced bad batteries ,etc. The sales MORE then make up for shipping costs even when the sale does not include FREE shipping ( which is often ) last sale i got basically got a drip tip free due to discount amount and the sale before that 2xl batteries .And if you read the forums all kr808d'd ARE not the same at all .
Yes there are fans of other brands but check their forums and you will find many more issues there .just my opinion,

Did you by chance contact Chad as he requested at the end of that thread in which you speak?

I am with you Nancy....I have worked retail both as the lowly cashier all the way up to owning my own business for a spell. NO ONE is 100% and it is not realistic to expect that, but as of right now V4L has batted 1000 with all issues that I have had....perfectly done and without any hesitation that I have seen with other companies. I have never seen any disrespect or attitude from any of these guys either as I have witnessed elsewhere....within the past month if my memory serves me correctly.

@ waylonjessi4ever shipping costs are only free if you are in the US, as i am in AUS shipping is $25. FREE international shipping is somthing i dont think i have seen except for on ebay.
i have looked through the forums and didnt find anything to say that a KR808D-1 from any supplier wouldnt fit a KR808D-1 cart from a different supplier. Would you know what the differences are or could you point me in the direction of where this has been discussed?

@keelalagirl55 i did contact Chad as requested and he replied with a whole bunch of info that was irrelevant to what i was asking. I had very specific questions regarding their service and their specfic products and all i got was a copied and pasted overview of all their general products. this really annoyed me to be honest as i have also worked several years in customer service and to be honest, if any of my team members had left it more than 48hrs before replying (v4l took 8 days) or it did not look like they had read the customers email and replied with generic copy and pasting information they would have been up for counciling immediately. No business i have worked for would accept that as customer service of any kind, which is why i am dissapointed in v4l.

I am terribly sorry for your disappointment....as I said no one, nor no company is perfect...I wish it would have happened to someone who already values the cs of V4L instead of a new customer, but it is what it is and completely understandable how you feel. Now for the other part of your request....Morandir did a very unbiased review comparing V4L batts to the Bloog Maxxfusion which he posted here and in their forum....to make it easier, you can also find them in his profile as they are the only 2 items he has in his blog....E-Cigarette Forum - Uncategorized - Blogs just so you know, even those on the Bloog Forum found no ill will or what not in his reviews and thanked him for them.

unfortunatly it happends from time to time, its just especially annoying, like you say, when it happends to you as a new customer, compared to a loyal returner.

i had a look at the 2 reviews he did and to be honest there doesnt sound like there is too much between the two models. i dont really like the range of pre-filled carts that bloog supply so untill there is another company that can supply as wide a range as v4l does, i think i will have to stick with them anyway.

I have not seen the variety in colors, LED's and crystal tipped batteries from any other supplier I've peeked at. Their pre-filled cartos are the best I've tried of a few places, and you're right on the great variety there.

I used to ship e-cig stuff to Europe, and there just isn't any getting around the international shipping charges sadly. From what I thought I understood from my friend in Australia the economy is doing better there than most the rest of the world, so I would think the exchange rate would help out a little (note: I have not checked the exchange rates). If you catch one of the shipping sales, they do offer specials on international shipping with minimum orders. I highly recommend signing up for V4L family membership.

the aussie dollar is stronger than the us at the moment and has been for a while. so any us prices are acctually slightly less for me :)
if you go to smokelessimage.com they will ship to aus for $4.78. now i will admit that the price is very low for internaltional shipping but they assured me that price is correct and eta should be 6-14 days, which is reasonable. i would normally expect $10-$15 for shipping.

oh really? i may have to have a look at that then, thank you

Plastic_prophet, might I recommend that you sign up for the V4L mailing list? V4L quite regularly have sales that include Free International Shipping. Like you, I save $25 the minute they publish those sales!

I can speak from experience, KR808D-1s are not all equal. Yes, been there, done that, and no, they aren't the same. Most importantly to me, the flavours are not the same. V4L flavours are way superior to others I've tried, and that's including double the cost as well as 1/2 the cost. Obviously your experiences might be different. I wish you well in your search for your perfect fit. It took 5 brands before I settled happily here @ V4L.

i tried to sign up for the mailing list but it appears that i am already in their database.
knowing my luck, i have to make a purchase now and i will have to pay full shipping costs and in a week or so, just after i receive my order, there will be a free shipping offer lol

could you possibly please explain, in what way are they not the same?
