VK Shorty Batteries Disscontinued??

Plastic_prophet, you are most definitely not alone! When I started, it was very important to me that my ecig look, feel, taste & behave as much like a cigarette as possible. I used KR808D-1 white shorties with very realistic ash caps and vaped menthol cartomizers which were plain white. Initially I was shy of being asked questions, I tried to blend in with smokers as much as possible. After a while I went through a stage of wanting people to notice, so coloured leds and batteries came into it. Now I don't care whether people notice or not. I've found what I like and don't need to blend in or stand out.

im not really shy about being asked questions or really care about what others thing so much so. its more for my own mind over matter.
did you start out using the VK?

just take a deep breathe....and relax! you'll get this all figured out. you'll be happy I promise. get black ones and pretend they are cloves or something lol

lol thanks. im not sure what cloves are, being in aus, we dont get all the american ciggie brands. which is one of the big reasons i think that i find the ciggie brand flavours dont really taste like the actual brand at all.

but its all good. i have found a couple of other suppliers who sell KR808D-1s that are white with a red/orange LED and according to peoples reports they are good quality batts. they also have alot cheaper shipping than v4l and in one companies case their shipping is less than 1 5th of the v4l shipping cost. so i may give them a try and see what happends.

still, more suppliers of pre-filled carts are needed lol

oh they are just black cigs that have flava...and I think were part fiber glass? lol they were way bad for you... but they looked cool and tasted good and made a cool crackling noise...oh and expensive!

ok well when you get tired of the ciggy lookin batt you come on over and get some new diamond batts cus the quality of the hardware is just uncomparable. Oh and get a pass through. you'll soon discover that higher voltage = more awesome (another reason the newer v4l batts are way cool...they stay at 4.2 volts for a long time)

good luck!

fiber glass?? lol ok then, sounds pretty nasty hahaha
im sure it would have been something i would have tried in my school days lol

im not really sure a pass through is really for me either. the whole cable thing puts me off. but i guess thats because vaping isnt a hobby for me yet like it is for alot of people. for now, im just trying to make it as a substitue for smoking. but im sure i will look more in to it in the future if i am successful in changing my habit

Hey...Hey....I can clear up the car analogy;)....yep girly talkin cars...hahahaha

ok...using your example of a Subaru Liberty GX...with that car there are options....say straight off the line it is a standard with manual locks, manual windows...etc....now you can also get the Subaru Liberty GX Automatic with say a sunroof, auto locks, auto windows, and auto seat adjust...oh and air conditioning......that is where the 808's differ...say the 5 sec cut off is the standard basic Subaru Liberty GX....then there are others like what V4L carry...they are the fully loaded Subaru Liberty GX automatic with a/c and sunroof......the best switch, the best draw, etc.

Very nice Ms. Keelala!

Sent on the go from my Evo :)

that is very true. although a liberty GX with all the trimmings is called a liberty RX
difference is between the e-cigs and cars is that the car manufacturers and sellers specify what you get in each model. there are also extended model numbers that are not advertised that indicate what upgrades the car has, whereas the e-cigs just say KR808D-1 and nothing more and then some dont even say that. they just called whatever the supplier decides to call them.

Well...yea...(can you tell I don't follow Subaru..lol)....but all the techi stuffs would just be information overload for most customers....really the only part that is disclosed (and even then not with everyone) is the cut off time. The connection type may be included in the description on the new site, or maybe under the FAQ's. For most first time e-cig shoppers, the model numbers mean nothing to them. It's not until they get to a forum like this one that it all starts to come together (or becomes more overwhelming than one can stand) as far as model type, connection types, and all the other options out there. You will find even with the 510's, they are not all created equal and some are not even compatible with other 510 gear....it can be a total nightmare trying to figure all this out. That is what is so great about this forum...so many people that have different experiences and different knowledge...it's just awesome!

Thought of another analogy....and it holds true for all ecigs...not just 808's.....coffee pots...or even the coffee itself. All coffee pots are not created equal.
Just be careful venturing to super cheap 808's. a 5.00 batt is not gonna come close in performance or even life span. Probably why I don't buy the 7.00 coffee pot...I'd be replacing it every month.

lol yeah, can you tell ive owned several hahaha?
i agree that too much information can be a bit of an overload but i find it depends on what you are looking at.
when it comes to electronics or I.T, model numbers mean everything. no matter what computer i buy, if it has a Pentium Core i7 2820QM then it has a Pentium Core i7 2820QM, simple as that. thats the sort of information consumers often want to know so they can be sure they are getting what they want and it will work with any existing hardware they may already own. i feel it is the same in this case.
as a customer, i want to know if what im looking has a KR808D-1 connection so i know if i can connect it to my existing carts or so i know i have to look for different ones that will fit.
now ofcourse there are different manufacturers and therefore there will be different standards in quality, but it shouldnt be too much different. i would expect that more expensive ones would often work better or longer than the cheap nasty ones, but either way they should function the same and have the same connections.

thats just the way i look at things anyways lol

Not exactly true Plastic Prophet sir, one could be from a better batch, meaning it runs at a slightly lower voltage. That can translate to a higher overclock potential, better power consumption, etc. Own two video cards from the same company, same model, same cooling, yet one can be pushed to 933mhz, the other won't go past 913mhz. No two electronics are exactly the same.

true
but does that bring up any compatability issues?
because from my experiences if they are the same chipset then they will work the same no matter what they will overclock to

Technically it can Plastic Prophet sir. But now we go into the quality of parts inside the computer surrounding the processor.... :) Will put it this way, the reason why when I do my testing on v4l batts that it's always multiple examples is to show the variation between ones from the same series. In every test, no two batt perform the same, yet they have the same technology. Fault tolerance exsists for that very reason. :)

yeah thats fair enough, i see what your saying.
still if software you have says it needs a minimum of a Pentium 4 processor then it doesnt matter how high you can overclock or anything like that. if it is a Pentium 4 your software will work.
at least, i have not come across a situation otherwise.

deinately see what your saying though
