So I am new to vaping and just ordered an Omega from alt smoke. After some research I've noticed people talking about using 1.6ohm, 2.5ohm, 3.0ohm and so on as far as what to use when vaping at say 3.7 volts or 6 volts. My question is what is the reasoning behind this and what should be the setup you use when going from 3.7, 5 and 6 volts? I really have no knowledge of electricity and voltage and what that means as far as what you should use at different volts to get best results. Thanks.

In a word...heat. That's what it is all about. But you can get an in depth answer here:

As for what is "best", that is entirely subjective and greatly influenced by the juice itself and your taste buds. Personally, I prefer a cooler vape than many around here seem to. My buddy likes to crank the volts, and consequently the heat up. We are using the exact same battery, the exact same carto, and the exact same juice. But we prefer extremely different voltage. A with anything here YMMV and trial and error is key.

Sent from my G2...so please excuse the spelling errors, correct gets the best of me.

Mostly, it is about the wattage (heat) that you like (anywhere between 7 and 12 watts, depending on the person and the juice). Watts are a result of the combination of the voltage (v) of your battery and the resistance (ohm) of your atomizer. Here is a handy calculator: Ohm's Law Calculator

And a nifty chart: http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/469/wattage.png
