Gotvapes.com has a new product called a "Vortex." Basically, it's a clearomizer with the atty located at the bottom of the tube instead of the top. I modded one by taking out the Vortex's center tube thingy and am using it with my REO Grand.

I'm always on the lookout for an atty that gives great vapor and flavor, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg. For now, I can say that the Vortex atty is performing better than other attys that I've used. The vape is nice and warm, but very smooth and juice tastes really clean. We'll see how well my mod holds up over time with cleaning and re-use.

My cell phone camera won't get close up enough to do a pic justice. You can go check them out at gotvapes.com, but I'm not sure they have any close ups that show the actual innards of the Vortex.

haftodoit - yes, you have to remove the center tube if you're going to use the Vortex on a bottom feeder. If you don't, the juice will squirt up the tube and you'll get a mouth full of liquid when you vape.

MX - I've got an adapter. The guys at gotvapes will be getting some with a 510 connection, but it'll be a month or so before they're available.

Just to let you all know - the next shipment will have some "fixes" for the Vortex. There won't be any filler in them (right now, there's a thin, tiny sheet wrapped around the bottom of the center tube's base) and something else is going to be tweaked, but I can't remember what it is.

Guys... Patty is on to something here.

If you love the 306, you eventually have to try one of these. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before they come with 510 threads and more choices in resistances.

The Vortex I'm currently using on my Reo measured 2.8 Ω and is giving me great flavor from my Boba's thinned just a bit with a few drops of 80 proof vodka (distilled in Kentucky, mlinky!).

I can see my squonk! It won't flood! Big Hitter-like drags with vapor and flavor out the wazoo!

I think I like it.

PattyR this works great. I have been less than amazed with these things and now they have found a new life. OK since I like a warmer vape I went into the gear box looking for something that would fit over just the "atty" part of the vortex. For those that have one and want to try it the Iken 801 atty whistle tip fits perfectly on the base of the vortex atty body. This is alright. Thanks Patty and if you have a 801 whistle tip try that too. While you can not see the liquid it does produce a warmer more flavorful vape.

6 volts, you say?

Oh look, I have some 3V batteries right here...

Hell yeah Patty is onto something for sure. This makes a dirt cheap atty and provides nice flavor and big vapor. Enjoy the 6V Mudflap and let me know if I am nuts or if it hits the spot for you too.

Thanks for the tip, Liv2Ski :) I'll rummage through my box of assorted bits and pieces of vaping stuff and see if I have an 801 whistle tip.

I dont know enough about the Reo's yet but didnt i read somewhere that said not to use adapters on teh Reo's? It could short them out or have battery problems or something?

Yes. Adapters, if not properly adjusted, can cause REO's (and other pvs) to short out. You can use adapters if you are careful, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you are aware of the potential problem and have some experience using them.
